"Was that the Aeon of Order or the Aeon of Harmony?"
Amon's hands twitched with the urge to steal something.
But in the end, he didn't dare to go that far.
"Tsk." Sairuis clicked his tongue regretfully.
Xipe slowly opened her eyes, acknowledging the contract.
He patted Amon's shoulder, his face full of regret."I really thought you were going to steal something."
Amon stared at him. "Do I look that much like an idiot to you?"
Sairuis just smiled and said nothing.
Amon was about to make a few provocative remarks, when it suddenly occurred to him that he probably couldn't beat this guy. He shut his mouth, sulking.
Sairuis, seeing his expression, deliberately teased him: "Aren't you curious about the mask's effect? Want me to help you try it out?"
Amon immediately turned away and walked off. "Let me see how your synthesizer works instead."
A few days later, another Tarot Gathering arrived.
"Good afternoon, Mister Fool." Audrey, veiled in a faint haze, curtsied with a light smile."It's a pity there's no wine here, or I could raise a toast to celebrate your success."She was referring to the ritual magic.
"Your strength far surpasses what we had imagined," Alger Wilson followed up with praise.
"Thank you very much, Mister Fool. That day, you truly gave me a beautiful dream," Sairuis added right after—unintentionally stirring up some unpleasant memories for Klein.
Klein took a deep breath to steady himself. Surrounded by dense, impenetrable grey fog, he pressed his right hand lightly down, and spoke as if answering a trivial matter:
"Good. This shows that we are on an effective path. In the future, if you have matters on a Monday afternoon and can't make it, then hold the ritual in advance and inform me. Mm, you only need to change the incantation—replace the words 'I pray for a good dream' with your specific reason."
"Alright." Audrey nodded lightly, her tone cheerful.
Then, as usual, everyone handed in their diaries.
Just like last week, Klein first read the ones from Alger and Audrey.
"July 9th: I suddenly thought of an interesting question. Since the Sequence pathways are also called God's Gift, the Pathways of the Divine, then why is the slate that records all twenty-two complete pathways called the Blasphemy Slate…"
"July 12th: Today I learned a fact—that Sealed Artifacts are an important part of the Church's strength, even though some of them are extremely, extremely dangerous…"
"July 14th: I met that mysterious Mr. Zaratul again. He turned out to be the leader of an ancient organization—the Secret Order…"
While Klein was reading the diaries, Audrey glanced toward the seat of honor, her habit of observing kicking in. She swept her gaze around the table, recalling what the others had just said.
Suddenly, she froze, her gaze landing on Sairuis.
"Mr. Devil, when you spoke earlier… it didn't sound like Loen language. But… how did I understand it?"
Audrey fell into a storm of thoughts.
Klein finished reading their diaries, then came upon a line from Emperor Roselle:
"Damn that stupid smiling-silence attitude! Once I become a high-sequence powerhouse, I'll beat up every 'Seer' I see!"
Klein gave a sincere assessment: "Rest in peace, Your Majesty."
He continued flipping. The pages Sairuis submitted were once again filled with Roselle's womanizing escapades. Klein skimmed through quickly, treating it like some cheap smut novel.
Until the very last page— Klein's eyes widened sharply, and he drew in a cold breath.
"Roselle's flavor is truly something else…"
[He read that line]
