After Fenrir finished the wolf, he went back to hunting on his own, hunting wild rabbits and any bigger game that he could find.

As Chen Xuans body was already strengthened, the energy didn't act as gentle as before, ripping each part of him and quickly repairing him.
The process was similar to how monks trained themselves, tiny micro tears in their skin only to repair themselves.
The principal was the same but only with more intensity and speed. The tears were still small however so the pain was limited yet it was still a slightly painful experience.
The torment lasted for over a dozen minutes before the energy slowly dissipated, leaving a lingering feeling of pain but also of a vibrant life force.
As Chen Xuan expanded his vision once more, he was able to instantly notice that his vision has expanded.

After a very short examination, Chen Xuan was able to feel that his roots had grown more powerful. The membrane surrounding his roots was more absorbent and fuller.
Along with the roots being superior, Chen Xuan was also able to begin moving them properly.
They were far slower and softer than his branches, but they were more flexible and easier to move. They were, however, still slower, so they couldn't truly be used for combat effectively.
With a lot of support from his branches, he was able to use his roots as a sort of bolo or trap to immobilize prey.
However, this was all merely conjecture from Chen Xuan and couldn't be fully realized without true combat.
