Chapter 26 - 84

Every player is now in the main hall of the Grand Hotel. Despite how many people are in the room, you can't hear anything. Todor just won a point while doing nothing but spectating his own match. Seems like he did a perfect job, as the perfect perfectionist. That's how people often refer to him as the "Perfect Perfectionist". Excelling on everything he does. He was always like this, and it looks like this game show will not be different either. This is what other participants were thinking right now before the silence would be broken by Referee number 1.

Referee-1: Attention! Everyone! As it seems like, all 100 of you are here, and now that the "Action Game" has ended just now. I will announce the results, which as of right now, as all of you know already, some people got eliminated for the first time this season!

Of course, those who are eliminated know that they are eliminated, because the criteria of being eliminated is to have 0 points by the end of this Action Game.

Referee-1: Those who don't have at least 1 point is going to be eliminated and will be sent home. There are 16 players who did not succeed to gain a point in the first 3 games! Their numbers are: "4, 8, 22, 23, 29, 35, 38, 44, 53, 55, 57, 66, 76, 84, 93, 94". You have to leave now!

The eliminated players were ready to leave already because they were asked to get ready to leave after they lost on the first day of the Action Game. Soon after, there is now only the referee and the 84 remaining players there.

Referee-1: I will now announce the results!

-OUT: 16 players

-OUT THIS ROUND: 16 players

-1 points: 29 players

-2 points: 28 players

-3 points: 18 players

-4 points: 9 players

-REMAINING: 84 players

Referee-1: Now there are only 9 players who have the maximum points that are possible after the 3rd game! They are "Amelia; Bandeer; Brielle; Greg; Ethan; James; Oli; Sophia; Todor;"

Other than that... I will now announce the 4th game you will all be playing simultaneously tomorrow!

Suddenly the silence from the participants broke. The next game? Already? This one just barely ended and tomorrow everyone at the same time will be playing the next one? There was always at least a day when no players were in any game, but this time it is different.

Adam, of course, listens to this with Greg.

Adam: Wow! Already?

Greg: Seems like it. They don't wanna wait for the next game or what?

Adam: There is sure a reason right? This breaks the pattern right?

Referee-1: Because of the fact that you all will play simultaneously, you will not be able to spectate each other's match. Also this time, instead of the usual format of 4 players needed for the games, this one will be played as 1v1-s! The game name is

"Joker's Gambit"

Setup: Everyone will play at the same time in different places, so the players can't spectate each other.

Type of game: Card game

Players: 1V1; 2 people in total for one game.

Best of 3: Those who will win 2 games first, will gain a point - One round can end with a tie, if there would be a second tie, then both players lose and will not gain a point.

TIE breaker 4th round: If the 3 rounds has ended, and the outcomes are any variation of "1 win by player 'A'; 1 win by player 'B'; 1 TIE" - Then one final Tie breaker match will be played - Even though it's called tiebreaker, this can still end as a tie, causing both players to lose and not get any points!

Cards: Two value '1' card, two value '2' card, two value '3' card, two value '4' card and Two Joker, the Joker with a value of 'J' - Value of 'J' only means that it is the strongest! It beats all other cards, except the Joker itself. You can recognize the cards only by their value, as their value is the only thing printed on them.

Starting hand: Only a total of 10 cards will be used - Both players start with 5 cards - The two players start with the same cards - 1 of every 5 cards. - '1'; '2'; '3'; '4'; 'J' -

Rounds system: There is the game - The game is made out of the 3 or 4 Rounds from the Bo3 - One round is made up by 5 Sub-Rounds.

Limited card usage: In one round, a player can only use a specific card - for example '3' - to duel once, no matter if losing or winning the duel. Cards will be re-dealt at the start of every round. The cards that were used but did not duel will can be used again on later Sub-Rounds. You are not allowed to interact in any way with your opponent cards.

Sub-Rounds: the first 4 Sub-Rounds in every Round will have a 1st and 2nd half - Both will have a 1 minute time limit! - If you have not played your card until then, you will lose that ENTIRE Round! - With this, a game cannot last longer than 20 minutes!

1st half: On the first half of the first 4 Sub-Rounds in every Round, There will be a first half - Within the time limit, choose 1 of your remaining cards in your hand and place it - face up - on the table in the same line as your opponent.

2nd half: there's always a 2nd half in every Sub-Round even when there is no 1st half. choose 1 of your remaining cards in your hand and place it - face up - on the table in the same line as your opponent - cannot be on top of the previous card placed in the first half.

Normal Duel: The duel will be done between two cards. Right after both player placed their card on the 2nd half, those two cards will duel - the higher value wins - 'J' beats all except 'J' - 'J' cannot duel against 'J' - If 'J' would have to duel against 'J', a special duel will happen.

Special duel: The two cards that were used in the first half will duel.

Reciprocal: If both Joker are played in the same Sub-Round - For example, in the case of Special duel - All cards value for that duel will be equal to their reciprocal - So for example, the card '3' which originally have a value of 3, will have a value of 1/3, only for that one duel though.

Winning a Round: You win one Round for the Bo3 if you won more duels than your opponent in the 5 Sub-Round on the current Round.

Forced tie: There is a way to force a tie - Because of the fact that two 'J' cannot duel against each other, if in the final Sub-Round, both players only remain with the card 'J', then the entire Round is calculated automatically as a tie, even if one player have more won duels than his opponent - The reasoning behind this is this: "Both players remain with the 'J' as their only card ---> 'J' cannot duel against 'J' ---> Every time, both player are forced to use 'J' ---> They cannot duel so every time, they will remain with that card ---> This goes on forever ---> Even if someone is on a winning position, if the game never ends, no one wins ---> if no one wins, then it's a tie" - We only skip the "infinity" part with this rule.
