Chapter 68 - Crimson Gamble

Bracelet locked on wrist...

Device: System activation, 2 active bracelets... Must execute: CEO Takeover game. When ready, line up both devices next to each other.

Referee No.1: Do as the device says... And good luck, leader.

Todor and Mratni standing now facing each other, both of them stretching their left hand out so their bracelet devices are lined up close to each other.

Device: Activation... Rules successfully loaded, explanation starts at 10:50 AM, time left: 19 seconds

Oli (This game is taking a lot of preparation and that thing seems really modern, they are taking it really seriously)

Mratni: No need anymore to line up the two devices.

Todor: Good to know.

CRIMSON GAMBLE

Game type: CEO Takeover

Players: 1 VS 1 (Challenger VS CEO; Todor VS Mratni)

Game type: Guessing

Both players will have a limited resource they will be using the entire game

The game is round based, the challenger has the right to decide whether he wants to start or the opponent.

The one who's first in the round can sacrifice as much of his resource as he wants, this is the first half of the round, which is always lasting exactly 50 seconds. If not doing anything in this round, the amount you sacrifice is automatically zero.

Then in the second half, the other player has to guess how much the others have sacrificed in the first half of the round. The one who guesses will also lose resources most of the time probably. This is the formula how much resource you will lose after guessing: ( Sacrificed -- Guessed ) * 2; So for example, let's say Mratni sacrifices 6, Todor guesses 4, then subtract 4 from 6, that is 2, then double it, which is 4, that is how much Todor would lose in that case. The second half of the game will last 50 seconds at maximum, but it ends whenever the guess has been made. If not doing anything in this round, the amount you guess is automatically zero.

This will be alternating. 1st round: Player A sacrifices --> Player B guesses --> Reveal Outcome --> Player B sacrifices --> Player A guesses --> Reveal Outcome --> Repeat until game is over

...

Todor: So what are those resources?

Referee No.1: Seems like it's what it's going to reveal last, this is the most dramatic part of this game.

...

Device: The resources...

Since this game is going for life or death, the loser has to die. Most of the time the loser will just simply have their bracelet explode, killing the wearer right away, but the designer of this game seems to love brutality...

Oli: WHAT THE HELL ARE THIS IS SOME KIND OF A SICK JOKE?!

Referee No.1: No, this is reality. Whenever one of them, let's say Todor wants to sacrifice 100ml, then 100ml of blood will be extracted from his body. The game only ends when one of their hearts stops. This game is designed by the man that was the CEO previously that Mratni defeated.

Mratni: Hah, who would have thought he was such a psychopath? We will literally sacrifice what keeps us alive in order to stay alive, what a paradoxical concept.

Todor: But can't it be different how much blood two men have?

Referee No.1: You are right about that, but I have runned the required tests through the bracelets and it seems like both of you are healthy, the amount Todor has is a little more than Mratni.

Todor: 5,4 liters

Mratni: 5,2 liters

Referee No.1: But the amount itself is not really relevant, the ratio is. This means that because Todor has more when healthy, in a situation where both have let's say 4 liters left --> Mratni is in a slight advantage, because of the ratio. Just as usual, I will have a screen and when the revelation of each round happens I will also show how much blood both players lost compared to what they had before the first round in percentile. Also, a rule I have to mention as well is, starting from round 10, the minimum blood you have to sacrifice is 5 ml, anyway, before that you can do 0 ml as many times as you want before that.

Device: 5 minutes until 11 AM

Referee No.1: It's time, you sure noticed there is something under this sheet behind me, which is... The machines that will suck out your blood during the game! They are also very accurate and connected to my equipment so I have the exact amount of blood remaining and BPM (beat per minute), or in other words, heart rate. Your blood will be sucked through a see-through material from your right arm, so I hope none of you two can get sick too easily by seeing blood, especially since it's going to be yours.

The huge TV screen turns on, everyone can see the details of their status.

Pre-Round-1:

Todor: 5,4 liters (100%) of blood left - BPM : 71

Mratni: 5,2 liters (100%) of blood left - BPM : 82

Oli (How is their heart rate so low? How can they be this calm in this situation? I can tell that even I have a higher BPM even though I only need to watch!)

Mratni: 71? Quite low despite the situation, but let me guess, but is it higher than your usual? I'm pretty sure it is.

Todor: Maybe, it doesn't matter.

Referee No.1: The clock just hit 10:59! 1 minute left until start! Let's decide who will start!

Mratni: Since you are the challenger, you have the right to decide.

Todor: I will sacrifice first.

Device: Get ready, we are about to start in seconds... Reminder, any action that breaks any of the rules will be punished by instant death, no exceptions. 3... 2... 1...

START!

CURRENT STATUS:

Todor: 5,4 liters (100%) of blood left - BPM : 79

Mratni: 5,2 liters (100%) of blood left - BPM : 90
