When faced with a girl's 'either/or' question, never answer easily.
Anne was a close friend who had been with Kayce since he was a freshman.
Britney was a cute sweet girl who relentlessly pursued him when he first entered college.
For such a fatal question, Kayce directly played dumb, pretending to be foolish. After all, they were all young now, and sometimes time would slowly give you the answer.
"Actually, I still prefer Helena City, and Montana more, after all, I grew up there."
Seeing that the two still wanted to press him, Kayce immediately changed the subject.
"Britney, didn't you say you wanted to try singing? After the game, let's try to release a single together."
"Anne, don't always stay in the lab. Didn't you want to shoot vlogs? When the time comes, let's go out and have fun together, and film it as a souvenir!"
Britney and Anne glared at Kayce, clearly dissatisfied with his change of subject.
However, Britney was immediately attracted by the topic of vlogs. "Actually, I want to shoot too, but I don't know how to edit, and I don't know what to shoot."
Britney liked to try all new things, a typical three-minute enthusiast.
"I think just filming you dancing would get high views, remember to wear something cool!" Anne immediately teased her.
Seeing that the two were about to start bickering again, Kayce immediately spoke up, "Let's shoot together, it'll be a souvenir. Anne is knows about editing, and I can help too."
The three of them chatted and laughed, discussing where to go for fun, and Kayce finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Time came to the afternoon of March 26th. Tomorrow was the Elite Eight, and the entire UCLA team was watching game tapes.
Their opponent was Davidson College, led by Stephen Curry. This was a single-core team, but they absolutely could not be underestimated.
Stephen Curry's threat from beyond the three-point line was too great, and unlike Harden, this guy had a lot of off-ball movement.
Davidson College had clearly tailored a specific tactical system for Curry.
"It's hard to defend Steph. His on-ball pick-and-roll and off-ball movement are both excellent. Maybe we can double-team him early."
Holiday said with emotion after watching the tape.
"Maybe he'll have an off-night tomorrow and keep missing shots. I actually think limiting Steph shouldn't be too difficult; he's not as strong as Harden."
Collison saw Curry's slightly thin body and felt he could handle it.
Coach Ben saw his players expressing their opinions, but generally optimistic about advancing, and couldn't help but frown slightly.
"Kayce, what are your thoughts? You haven't said much these past few days."
Kayce was slightly stunned, not expecting Coach Ben to call on him, but he immediately explained:
"I think Coach Ben's plan is excellent. In fact, we should focus more on adjusting our mindset, especially after Curry makes consecutive three-pointers during the game."
This reminded his teammates of the game footage, where Curry made consecutive threes and the opponent couldn't respond in time.
"That's right, even if they score continuously, we must remain patient, not rush to attack, move the ball, and hit our strong points!"
Coach Ben looked at Kayce approvingly, very satisfied with his statement. They needed to play with their heads; cool judgment was required on the basketball court.
On the 27th, the Elite Eight officially began. This game attracted the attention of numerous media and scouts.
Stephen Curry had been a hot draft prospect since last year.
Although his body was slightly thin, his excellent three-point shooting, skilled ball-handling, and good passing vision made many scouts optimistic about his future.
Teams liked such players; their flashy style also helped sell tickets, especially Nelson of the Golden State Warriors, who believed Curry would become the cornerstone of the team.
Half an hour before the game, Lucas Oil Stadium was already packed with spectators.
The atmosphere was boisterous, and fans of both teams had put on their cheering T-shirts, ready to shout encouragement for their respective teams.
Today's TNT commentators were Reggie Miller and Charles Barkley, who, as usual, started their pre-game jinxes.
"UCLA needs to be careful. Stephen Curry isn't James Harden; his off-ball movement is excellent!" Reggie Miller was trying to jinx the opponent to help his alma mater.
"I actually think Stephen Curry should be careful. Look at UCLA's perimeter defenders; every one of them is strong. Maintaining a high shooting percentage under such defense is a very difficult thing."
Barkley liked strong interior players, but unfortunately, neither of these two teams was his cup of tea.
Old Curry also came to the scene with his wife. He hoped his son would perform well today and advance to the Final Four, which would benefit his draft prospects.
Although he had been in contact with New York for a long time, basketball ultimately required performance to prove oneself.
The game was about to begin, and Coach Ben gave his final instructions to his players: "Stay patient, you can slow down the pace appropriately. Go!"
Kayce looked at the young Curry across from him, feeling a strange sense of witnessing history.
The crowd began to roar. At 6 PM, the game officially began.
"Swish!" Davidson College successfully won the tip-off and got the first possession.
Curry brought the ball past half-court and then passed it off, beginning off-ball movement under the screens of his teammates.
Collison immediately followed Curry, and after being caught on a screen, he began to loudly signal his teammates to pay attention to defense.
Under a big man's back screen, Curry quickly popped out, caught the ball at the three-point line, and faked a shot. Sure enough, Holiday fell for the pump fake.
Curry shook off the defense, took a step-back three-pointer, and quickly released the ball.
"Swish!" The ball went straight through the net.
Without playing against Curry, it's hard to appreciate his shooting speed. Kayce looked at Curry's shooting form and couldn't help but marvel at how truly amazing talent was.
Without a strong body, Curry's unparalleled shooting touch made him even more terrifying.
"A very beautiful three-point shot! Curry's release speed is too fast!" Reggie Miller would always praise an excellent shooter.
On UCLA's side, Holiday signaled that it was his fault. Collison dribbled the ball past half-court and handed it off to Holiday.
Kayce also began off-ball movement. After a continuous figure-eight screen, Kayce successfully received the ball and, facing a defender about a head shorter than him, immediately broke through with a quick step.
Davidson College's defensive rotation was very fast, and the interior help defense arrived immediately.
But Kayce's pass was even faster. Before the help defense arrived, he directly fed the ball to the interior for an easy dunk, scoring 2 points.
"Davidson College is doing a great job defending Kayce. It seems they've chosen to double-team this game. It's time to test his passing ability."
Barkley said immediately after seeing Kayce being helped-defended.
Kayce was a little surprised, not expecting to encounter a double-team at the start, but he didn't pay too much attention to it.
The game continued. UCLA's defense on Curry was very good, but this guy was red-hot today; he made every one of the few opportunities he had.
The Davidson College fans cheered wildly for their team.
It was Curry again. After a series of agile fakes, he directly broke through Holiday's defense and, facing the help defense, immediately threw an alley-oop to his teammate.
"Slam!" The ball was slammed into the basket. Curry had already started celebrating; he was enjoying the game.
At this point, 17 minutes into the first half, the score was 32-30, with UCLA trailing by 2 points, but Kayce felt the team was losing its rhythm.
On the offensive possession, Kayce was double-teamed at the three-point line and immediately passed the ball to Collison. Then, after several passes, the ball went to an open Holiday.
Open three-pointer, direct shot!
"Clank!" It was a miss. Curry grabbed the long rebound and immediately dribbled to initiate a fast break.
UCLA's transition defense was not timely this time, and Curry scored 2 points on the fast break.
Kayce's feeling was correct. In the last two minutes, UCLA continuously missed open shots from the perimeter, and the opponent pulled away with a run.
"The first half ends, 40-30, UCLA is down by 10 points. They're in trouble!" Reggie Miller was also a little worried about his alma mater.
In the first half, Kayce was constantly double-teamed, only taking 4 shots, making two, and getting 5 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds.
Seeing his teammates' low morale, Kayce felt he had to change his offensive strategy in the second half.
"Indeed, even the young Curry is so tough to deal with. You can't underestimate a superstar at any stage."
