After the lottery drawing, Kayce resumed his peaceful campus life. Anyway, for the few teams that could draft him, he left the rest to his agent, Chapman.
"Hey, Bro, it's rare to see you in the dorm. How were the tryouts?" Kayce saw his roommate, Holiday, again.
"I feel terrible. I've been running around for tryouts for the past two months, and why are there so many guards?" Holiday was chugging a drink, apparently the tryouts hadn't gone well.
"I think you'll definitely be fine. Some team invitations don't actually require you to go; they're just routine work." Kayce shrugged. He certainly didn't have that kind of worry.
"I'm still afraid of falling to the second round. Second-round contracts have less guarantee and a difference in salary, so it doesn't hurt to visit a few more teams." Holiday said earnestly.
"Bro, you're a champion guard! Averaging 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in the NCAA. If you don't get into the first round, then all the scouts and general managers must be blind. Relax a bit, let's have a small gathering tonight and bring your Lauren."
Kayce decided to take this honest kid out to have some fun and relax.
"Lauren and I aren't officially dating. Alright, I'll ask her out. Where are we going tonight? Don't tell me we're going to that same nightclub again."
Holiday originally wanted to quibble, but seeing Kayce's expression, he knew that his relationship with Lauren couldn't be hidden.
"Of course not that nightclub. Britney and Anne are also here, and I don't want to be nagged. We'll go directly to my place tonight, and Britney's girlfriends will handle the pick-up and drop-off."
This was the last gathering in Los Angeles before going to New York. Kayce invited his good friends from UCLA, considering it a farewell party for himself and Holiday.
This Beverly Hills mansion was purchased by the Dutton Family in 2005. It was French style, 38,000 square feet, occupying 2.5 acres, situated on the slopes of Beverly Hills, with an excellent location overlooking Sunset Boulevard.
Kayce usually doesn't come here because each stay would trouble the butler and security personnel. Although they were all old friends from the ranch, he didn't like to owe favors.
"Kayce, what do you think of this dress? Oh, why can't I fit into it anymore!" Britney always dressed herself up beautifully whenever she came here, saying that a nice house deserved appropriate clothes.
"Alright, Britney, you look good in anything. Look at Anne, she already picked out her clothes."
Kayce, uncharacteristically, wore a dark blue casual suit today. Combined with his tall stature and handsome face, he attracted many girls along the way.
"Hmph, with Anne's figure, she looks good in anything!" Britney looked at Anne, who was wearing a black slim-fit dress next to her, and couldn't help but feel a little jealous.
Her advantages were too obvious, curvaceous in all the right places. Looking at herself, she was immediately outshone.
"Alright, Kayce, I'll stay here with Britney. Our friends are arriving soon, you go greet them first!" Anne immediately knew that as long as Kayce was here, Britney would throw a tantrum, so she quickly sent him away.
"Alright, I'll go check on the kitchen." Kayce quickly made his escape. There were more people coming today, and he needed to take good care of everyone.
"Just choose this white dress. I guarantee you'll be the most beautiful one here tonight!" Anne went over to comfort the pouting Britney.
"He doesn't care about these things. Does this white dress really suit me? I'm so envious of your figure, Anne." Britney's eyes darted, and she secretly touched Anne again when she wasn't looking.
"You little pervert, go change your clothes!" Anne playfully slapped Britney's hand away.
"Let's sleep together tonight and have a sisters' heart-to-heart talk!" Britney hugged Anne and wouldn't let go. The two beautiful girls started to playfully bicker again.
Kayce saw that Holiday and Lauren had arrived and quickly went to greet them.
"Lauren, you look so beautiful today! No wonder Holiday talks about you all the time!" Today, Lauren had also uncharacteristically changed into a beautiful dress.
"Oh come on, Kayce. This guy doesn't have that much romance. I'm going to find Britney and the others." Lauren rolled her eyes at Holiday and left directly.
"What's wrong, Bro? Did you two have a fight?" Kayce asked with a smile.
"I've been busy with tryouts lately and sometimes haven't paid attention to her feelings. But Lauren is too outstanding; I feel a bit pressured. She might enter the women's national soccer team, and I'm still a poor boy right now."
Holiday had been feeling a bit anxious lately, always worried that something would go wrong with his draft.
"Be confident, man. You'll be earning millions of dollars soon. Don't always look so worried." Kayce comforted his good friend.
After everyone had slowly arrived, Kayce lightly tapped his glass in the hall, officially starting the party for the evening:
"I'm very happy everyone could come here. I don't want to say anything sentimental. Tonight, we'll party until dawn. Let's raise our glasses together to our everlasting friendship!"
"Wow!"
Everyone cheered together. Tonight, it was all Kayce's friends here. The atmosphere creators were Britney's girlfriends, and they were all hot babes!
Kayce looked at the scene before him and couldn't help but exclaim, "It's great to be young!"
The lively party continued for most of the night. Basically, everyone was drunk and passed out. Britney was ecstatic; she loved the excitement. She had successfully drunk herself unconscious and was now sleeping soundly in the bedroom.
After safely sending off his good friends, Kayce returned to the study alone. His head was a bit dizzy; his alcohol tolerance was still a bit low.
"Why aren't you resting? Your Britney is waiting for you." Anne came to Kayce's side with a glass of lemonade.
"I'm waiting for my mermaid princess." Kayce whispered into Anne's ear.
"Are you still worried about the draft? Didn't Chapman say it was already settled?" Anne's face was slightly flushed.
"Who knows? Right now, I just want to have a heart-to-heart with my mermaid princess." Kayce wanted to intensify his ball-handling training.
"You're such a naughty boy!" Anne said coquettishly.
Sleepless tonight, Kayce decided to stay up practicing, playing a full game, at least a 48-minute high-intensity scrimmage.
The next day at noon, Britney woke up and saw Kayce making lunch. She asked curiously:
"Why are you cooking yourself today? Where's Anne? Yesterday, I still couldn't outdrink her. Does that girl have Russian blood or something? She never gets drunk!"
"She's still sleeping. She was exhausted last night. Everyone had a blast, and it didn't end until late into the night." Kayce said without changing his expression.
Britney jumped onto Kayce like a puppy, sniffing around:
"I think something's not right! You two are hiding something from me!"
"Hurry up and wake Anne. Lunch will be ready soon!" Kayce patted Britney on him, signaling her to get down quickly and call her.
Britney tilted her head while hugging Kayce, then let out a giggle and happily went to find Anne.
"Hehe, I guarantee she won't be sleeping in!"
Less than 5 minutes later, a playful shout came from Anne's room: "You little pervert! You're not leaving today!"
Kayce heard the two beautiful girls bickering and couldn't help but smile knowingly.
"I'm really going to miss this wonderful life in Los Angeles! I hope everything goes smoothly with the Thunder."
