On 9th June, Space Era Years 106, the greatest announcement in a century thundered across the Dominion of Centory.Aelyzabeth von Thors, the Supreme Lord of the Empire, declared an official war against Earth, citing a single reason:
"The annexation of Proxima Centaury is essential for the security of our outer territories."
But everyone knew this was not the truth…The true engine of war was her unyielding will — and an empire's burning desire to reclaim its honor.
Assessment of Military Capability.
Though the forward strike force, the VSM (Vorwärtskommando), held a staggering 30 million soldiers and over 800 warships, the General Staff reached a unified conclusion:
"To wage war without crippling the national economy, only two million troops and around three hundred vessels may be deployed."
War demanded an unfathomable price:40 billion Centory Pounds, half of the emergency military reserve — and 20% of the entire national budget.
Thus, ministers of war, finance, and all service chiefs agreed:A limited war, or ruin before the first battle.
The Economic Engine Behind Aelyzabeth's War.
Over 90% of Centory's GDP came from domestic production and consumption — not exports like Earth. To the Supreme Lord, this meant only one thing:
"War will be the greatest economic ignition of our age."
A colossal surge in weapons manufacturing, starship construction, fuel production, and agricultural output would ripple across every sector.GDP - 96 billion Centory Pounds - was expected to rise to 100 billion Centory Pounds, equivalent to 500 billion Earth-dollars.
This expectation united the entire government behind her war.
The Mobilization.
Once the Royal Decree opened recruitment for two million volunteers, more than twenty million VSM soldiers applied.
An empire intoxicated with nationalism rose as one.
Selection was severe. In the end, two million elite soldiers were chosen, supported by three hundred warships — the spearpoint of Centory.
That same day, Supreme Minister Walter von Yigzorch delivered a fiery address:
"This war shall be fought for the honor of our nation — and for the survival of Centory's future!"
Nationalist fervor erupted across the Empire like a storm of fire.
Earth's Reaction.
Across the void, the Earth Republic had been preparing for war as well —not for economics, but for politics and ideology.
With a force of 50 million soldiers and over 1,000 warships, Earth branded Centory as:
"A tyrannical axis that must be purged before it devours the stars."
They named the conflict:The War to Suppress the Centory Imperial Axis
Centory responded instantly:
"We are the Nation of Loyalty."Earth, conversely, was declared:"The Invaders from Humanity's Cradle."
The Name of the War.
History would record this conflict as:
The First Centory–Earth WarorThe Proxima Centaury War
For this time, it was Centory who struck first —not Earth, as in the previous age's conflict.
Thus ends Chapter C-XXX.
