Larissa's POV
After we finished dinner, Carson led me to the back deck of the yacht. The crew had disappeared somewhere, leaving us completely alone beneath a canopy of glittering stars.
"Dance with me," he said, his voice cutting through the gentle sound of waves lapping against the hull.
"There's no music playing."
He reached for his phone, fingers moving across the screen with practiced ease. Suddenly, smooth jazz drifted from speakers I hadn't even noticed were there.
"Problem solved," he said with that crooked smile that always made my pulse quicken.
We moved together slowly, my body melting against his chest as his arms encircled me. The steady rhythm of his heartbeat thrummed beneath my ear, strong and reassuring. Being held like this felt dangerously right, in a way that scared me more than I wanted to admit.
"You're really good at this," I whispered against his shirt.
"At dancing?"
