Larissa's POV
"I need another glass," I declared, finishing off the last drops of my wine. The alcohol was doing its job, dulling the sharp edges of my thoughts and making everything feel softer around the edges.
"One more round coming up," Denise called out, catching the bartender's attention with an enthusiastic wave.
Jenica leaned across the table, her voice carrying that telltale looseness that came after several drinks. "So what are your weekend plans? Any romantic evenings with your mysterious billionaire?"
I let out a frustrated groan. "I thought we decided Carson was off limits tonight."
"You decided that," Rosemary shot back with a knowing grin. "The rest of us just smiled and pretended to agree."
"You're all terrible," I said, though I was laughing as I reached for the fresh wine glass the server placed in front of me.
"We're wonderful," Denise countered. "Wonderful friends who happen to be invested in your romantic drama."
