Chapter 18 — Sunny's First Step Into Hell
Sunny POV

The day after my fifteenth birthday was supposed to be quiet.
Wake up.
Get scolded by Belle-mère for oversleeping.
Steal breakfast before Nami.
Argue with Aqua about who hogs the blankets.
Maybe train. Maybe nap.
Instead—reality cracked like glass.
My room dissolved, folding in on itself. My bed vanished. My floor was gone.
Colors, sounds, and screams I couldn't recognize swallowed me whole.
And then—
BOOM.
I slammed face-first onto barren stone. My skull rattled, dust exploded around me.
"…Ow. That's illegal."
I pushed myself up, blinking.
The world around me was… wrong.
Skies stretched into endless auroras. Mountains towered like entire continents. Oceans poured off the horizon into nothingness. The planet felt alive, vibrating with power.
[System]:Welcome, Sunny.
Location: RBG Dimensional Training Ground.
Planetary size: approximately 100× greater than Earth.
Escape condition: defeat five assigned opponents.
I froze. "…Wait. What?"
And then his voice came.
"GYAAHH-HAHAHA! SURPRISE, BRAT!"
The troll god himself—RBG—echoed across the skies.
"Think I'd let you just eat cake and kiss girls for your birthday? Nah! Real growth comes from blood and sweat! Here's the deal: you're stuck here until you kill five enemies. And not just any enemies… but copies of monsters from your world. Stronger than their prime. Ten times stronger, in fact!"
"…Excuse me?"
"Don't worry, brat, if you die, you respawn! Damage? Reset! No escape until you beat them all. Enjoy your training!"
Silence.
I stared at the sky. "RBG… you clown-faced lunatic… TEN TIMES STRONGER!?"
{Ego}:Heh. You're whining already? Tch. Figures. Not that I'm worried about you or anything.
[System]:Correction: I am worried. If Sunny dies too many times, my heart will break. But it's okay… I'll stitch you back together. Even if it takes forever. Because you're mine, Sunny.
"…Great. A tsundere in one ear, a yandere in the other. Best birthday ever."
I staggered to my feet, brushing dust off. "Fine. Where's my first—"
The ground trembled.
No… not trembled. It screamed.
A shadow darkened the world.
A shape vast as a mountain moved, scales glittering like storm clouds, horns splitting the heavens.
Kaido.
Not drunk, not weary, not worn down by years.
Prime Kaido, multiplied by ten.
He carried his kanabo casually, sake jug sloshing, aura crushing my lungs with sheer pressure.
"GUH-RA-RA-RA! SO… YOU'RE THE WHELP!" His voice cracked stone. "RBG SAID YOU'RE THE FIRST TO FALL BEFORE ME. LET'S SEE IF YOU LAST A BREATH!"
I blinked. "Prime Kaido was already impossible. Now you're Kaido ×10!? Tutorial boss, my ass—this is a raid boss!"
Kaido's grin split wider. He leapt—no, he detonated into the sky, descending like a meteor with his club raised.
"THUNDER… BAGUA!"
BOOOOOOM!
The impact split the ground for miles, shockwaves hurling me like a ragdoll. My body crunched against stone, blood spraying my lips.
[System]:Warning: lethal damage.
{Ego}:Pathetic. You haven't even given me a reason to mock you properly yet.
I coughed, forcing myself to stand, legs shaking. My Haki flared, coating my fists.
"Fine," I spat blood, eyes burning. "If this is hell, then I'll make hell my gym."
Kaido roared with laughter.
"SHOW ME YOUR FIGHT, BOY! OR DIE A THOUSAND USELESS DEATHS!"
My chest pounded. My mind flashed to Aqua's kiss, to Nami's smile, to Nojiko's quiet strength, to Belle-mère's scolding, to all of them waiting back home.
I clenched my fists tighter. "I don't care if you're ten times stronger… I'll make it work. One death at a time if I have to."
{Ego}:Finally talking like you mean it.
[System]:That's my Sunny… Don't break, okay? You promised me forever.
Kaido raised his kanabo again.
I launched forward.
First step into hell.
First enemy.
First death incoming.
And I was going to make it count.
