Kangsoo reappeared, holding Kai's phone. "Sir… your mother insists on speaking to you."
Kai pinched the bridge of his nose. "What now?"
"She's already chosen a wedding date."
Hana's head snapped up. "When?"
Kangsoo hesitated. "This weekend."
Her stomach dropped. "Four days?!"
Kai's tone was clipped. "Of course. Eunha's probably told her we were childhood sweethearts. She's convinced already."
Hana gripped her knees, pulse racing. Too fast. Everything was happening too fast.

Back at her apartment, Hana sat curled on the couch as Nari listened in disbelief.
"So he called you his little sister?" Nari scoffed. "What an idiot."
Hana bit her lip. "He doesn't mean it like that. It's just… me. I was the one who kept waiting for him."
Nari's voice softened. "You're not that little girl anymore. And you're his wife now. Six months is more than enough for him to see it."
Hana gave a bitter laugh. "He didn't even notice I've changed. Not really."
Her phone buzzed. A message.
Hi Miss Hana, this is Kang. Kindly call me when you see this.
Hana dialed quickly. "Kang?"
"Miss Hana," his voice was warm. "You'll be meeting Kai's mother tomorrow. She wants to discuss the wedding plans."
Her chest tightened. "Tomorrow?"
"Yes. We'll pick you up at noon."
The call ended. Hana stared at her phone, dread pooling in her stomach.
Nari squeezed her hand. "Then tomorrow, you show his mother who you are. No excuses."
Hana's breath caught—because tomorrow, she wasn't just meeting Kai's mother. She was walking straight into the lion's den.
