Chapter 12 - Random Dance

Finishing his words, Joshua immediately returned to his own bed, not sparing a glance at Luther's expression as though he had just swallowed a hundred flies.

Inside his head, Nine was laughing so hard it was about to suffocate: [Ha ha ha, ha ha ha, look at his face, serves him right, ha ha ha!] Still, instinctively, it felt that Joshua wasn't supposed to have this personality. But whatever, it liked Joshua this way.

Bang!

The bathroom door suddenly slammed shut, loud enough to clear Luther's foul mood.

Joshua ignored him, and Nine quickly said: [I've already looked up the hottest trending topics on social media. What do you want to do—mukbang? …Well, no, with your current condition, if you eat, you'll probably get scolded. Gaming? Or maybe just a simple performance. If you team up with someone else, you could even put on a little play. Viewers usually love something funny…]

"There's no need to think too much about it. Just do what you're good at," Joshua said slowly.

Nine nodded approvingly: [Exactly! Your dancing skills are the ultimate trump card. Choosing you was the right call after all!]

Joshua: "…" It was only in moments like this that it said things like that.

Meanwhile, the internet buzzed with heated discussions about today's live broadcast.

[I Hate veggies]: Finally, this cruel show decided to let my babies out!

[Red Fox's Lover]: Leonard, I'm here!

[Royal Knight]: Protect the princess! Everyone, please pay some attention to our musical genius Luther, thank you, thank you!

[I Hate Delulus Most]: Ha ha ha, he hasn't even debuted yet, and you're already calling him a musical genius? What a joke.

[Royal Knight]: Just calling it like it is. What? I'm jealous because my pick is better than yours.

[Joshua 1st Support]: Please give our little bunny some love, my darlings!

[The Wolf Doesn't Eat Meat]: Throws flowers. Throws flowers. Any sisters waiting in the waiting room like me? I can't wait to see my bae Joshua!

[The Wolf Doesn't Eat Meat]: Three basic steps to get to know our Joshua—are you ready? >link >link

[Red Fox's Lover]: These days, it seems anyone can have fans, ha ha.

The comment section on the official announcement page had already been flooded by fans, endlessly discussing their own picks.

Of course, arguments were inevitable—after all, when it came to strong candidates, their fans were always convinced that theirs was No. 1.

[Mission Progress 150/1000]

On his way to the live broadcast venue, Joshua heard the system's notification chime again.

Nine raised its voice: [Didn't I say this mission was too easy? Maybe after today's livestream you'll complete it entirely!]

It was so excited it practically wanted to pop open a bottle of champagne right then and there.

Joshua felt that the mission's completion would also bring some tremendous benefit to Nine.

He said softly, "Let's hope so."

Nine had already started humming some nameless tune. Joshua was gradually getting used to its presence; not every time it spoke gave him a headache anymore. Truly, habit was something terrifying.

 Joshua thought silently.

The livestream room was only about twelve square meters from their training room.

After all, with a hundred trainees in total, even with group stages, they still needed plenty of livestream rooms. Thankfully, their training area was big enough.

Focus on introducing yourself and the show. If you can promote the show's sponsors, that's even better. You can be creative, but don't do anything too stupid!

That was precisely what the PD told them before they sat in front of the cameras.

Well, "cameras" are their own phones, really. Truly, frugality is happiness.

[Your blurry old phone is hopeless, but don't worry—you've got me!]

Like an all-purpose tool, Nine had made the camera quality clearer than ever when Joshua turned on his phone.

"Thanks," he said softly.

[Hmph, you'll thank me plenty more in the future!]

As the countdown ticked to 8 p.m., all the trainees' livestream rooms opened simultaneously. Countless fans poured in, making the system seem to lag a little. On the main broadcast screen were countless small squares, each showing a different trainee's room. Some viewers left it that way to observe everything at once, deciding which stream seemed more appealing. Of course, most fans rushed directly into the room of their own pick.

There were loyal fans, casual passersby, and even those who followed the show for fun and came to join the bustle.

Joshua sat in his seat, watching the viewer count rise nonstop, dip, then rise again—fluctuating back and forth.

He lowered his gaze. Under the lights, his face looked almost unnaturally pale; his black hair, slightly wavy, framed his soft cheeks.

[Aaaaa too cute, too cute! He looks nothing like in the photos!]

[He really has watery eyes, they're sparkling so much.]

[He may be a bit chubby, but definitely not ugly. Interesting—if he lost weight, he'd surely be a beauty!]

[Joshua, do you plan on losing weight?]

[Feels plain, huh? Nothing exciting…]

[What's the host planning to do?]

[The other stream has a funnier skit.]

Joshua glanced briefly at the scrolling comments, then said thoughtfully: "I'll dance a few songs for everyone."

With that, he stood up.

Some viewers were doubtful.

[Can that body really dance?]

[Like a mochi dumpling wobbling in water, ha ha ha.]

Joshua lifted his chin, raised one hand high, then snapped his fingers.

The sound was so crisp that even the viewers felt the impact. Immediately after, music began to rise, accompanied by each sharp snap of Joshua's fingers:

"Today's challenge is random dance! There isn't a single choreography I don't know—can you believe that?!"

He raised his brows slightly, his expression both cocky and provocative, brimming with confidence.

[That confidence… wait until a song you don't know shows up!]

[Mama believes in Joshua, but being overconfident too soon usually hurts the most.]

[Bunny's confidence is adorable!]

Joshua could hear the sound of Fame Points ringing nonstop in his ears. The corner of his lips curved upward as he began to move to the beat.

His body was truly supple and flexible, as if dancing had been carved into his memory, etched into every fiber of his muscles. Every move unfolded as though it had always belonged to him—no matter how difficult, he made it look effortless and fluid.

[Those hips, those hips—the energy is no joke!]

[He should be a professional dancer!]

Joshua's eyes flickered slightly when he caught that comment.

Yes, that was what he had once wanted to be in his previous life. But now, he was an idol—and he would be an idol.

For the mission, and also because… this feeling wasn't bad at all!

As the music pounded, Joshua straightened, his breath a little ragged. He glanced at the roaring comment section, which was filled with praise and requests for him to dance to their favorite songs.

Joshua said, "Time's almost up, one last song." His lips curled into a smile. "I was right, wasn't I? There isn't a single song I don't know."

The viewers, seeing his smile, couldn't help but scream:

[Stop trying to look handsome—you only come off as cute, ha ha ha!]

[Makes me want to pinch his cheeks, too cute!!!]

[He really is a bunny!]
