Chapter 12 - Chapter - 12 : Can't Be Cancelled

On this side, Sizi says to Anning after panting exaggeratedly, " Why you walk so fast ? "

Afterwards, wiping her imaginary sweat from her forehead, continues, " What happened, ..... did you fight ? "

Anning looked at her and calmly said, " Nothing of the sort. "

They did not fought just a small argument, and even if they did, she has no interest in spilling their beans to others.

Anning showed a look of thoughtful understanding and continued, " You seemed to be in a better mood than morning. Everything got fine ? "

Sizi paused, the smile on her face freezing, then said nonchalantly, " I never said I was in a bad mood. Besides, you were paying so much of your precious attention to me. I am honored. "

Anning startled, pursed her lips and went ahead with fast steps, not minding her anymore.

This time, Sizi didn't follow her, smirking where she stood. But unbeknownst to anyone else, her ears hiding behind those black hairs had unnaturally turned red.

..........

Anning and Baizhi were again sitting together on the same bench. But neither of them meeting the other's eyes ; and even if they did mistakenly, they would quickly retract their gazes.

And like this, the clock struck three o'clock of noon, and the class was dismissed.

In a classroom, when all students left after switching off the lights, Professor Lin was still packing his stuff. Many students who passed by him, bid him farewell, to which he smiled and sent them off too.

Soon, whole class got empty and dark, the evening lights only coming from the windows and doors. He again swept his eyes across the silent classroom, making sure everything was on place. He then went out with his bag shutting the door with a click.

He had to meet the Principal today too, so after exiting the right building, he went straight ahead for the Principal's cabin. On the way, the watchguard greeted him respectfully, and he nodded at him.

Once inside the central building, he asked the peon first if the Principal was still here. The peon replied, " Yeah. Sir is waiting for you. Please that way sir. "

What was the need to tell him the direction, he knows it too well.

The whole building was eerily quiet. The peon also went who knows where. He quietly went through the stairs, the footfalls echoing.

Actually, colleges, schools, hospitals always have a strange air about them, because these sites are too much filled with yin energy, caused by the excessive stressful environment, deaths, diseases, suicides, hopelessness. Whether someone believes in supernatural things or not, but they do have a thing about positivity or negativity.

Nothing comes pure and this vast world is no exception. If there are gods, then there will be ghosts too ; similarly like, if there is good, then there will be bad too.

Professor Lin reached Principal's cabin and stood there, a bit hesitant to knock. Still after the bit passed, he knocked anyways, receiving a " come in ".

The Principal was sitting leisurely on his cushioned chair, reading the files. Professor Lin stood respectfully in front of his table and said, " Greetings, sir. "

The Principal raised his head and said, " Oh, Mr. Lin, it's you. I was waiting for you. Please sit. "

Professor Lin, uncharacteristic to his personality, plopped on the chair throwing his bag on the sofa besides for guests. He then said, " Stop with the pretense, now. Ok ? "

The Principal greatly shocked, said to him, " Mr. Lin, what is this behavior ? Are you forgetting who is in front of you ? "

Professor Lin rolled his eyes and made to stand up after saying, " Your acting is too bad. If you have nothing to say, then I'm off. "

The Principal hastily stopped him and broke into a smile- his whole demeanor changing- then said, " I don't think my acting was too bad. Actually, it's about he trip. Has Professor Qing made all the preparations ? "

Professor Lin turning all serious now, said to him, " Yeah. He did it quite well. "

He then hesitated before suddenly stopping. Seeing this, the Principal said, " You have something else to say ? "

Professor Lin, finally taking a deep breathe said haltingly, " Is there no way to cancel this trip ? "

At this, the Principal made a stern face and said without a shred of his previous gentleness, " You know it too. It can't be avoided. Besides, the news has already circulated. "

Professor Lin knew this would be the answer , but he had still tried. Now sighing, he leaned back in his chair and said, " I understand. ... then I will take my leave. "

He made to stand up, yet again was stopped by the Principal's serious voice, " I have to tell you something else too. "

Professor stopped and looked at him to continue further.

Unexpectedly, the Principal grinned, cutting all the tensed air and said apologetically, " Look my acting isn't that bad- Please help me with these files..... Ai ai Mr. Lin--- come back. "

Professor Lin's expression abruptly changed and he turned to leave to cut all his nonsense, while ruthlessly rejecting him, " NO WAY ! "

Mr. Lin on his way back muttered to himself, " And here I thought, something serious happened. This person... can't be serious for more than two minutes. "
