Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Alanai's Test

*Alanai was still in the middle of nowhere, staring through the paper and her fingers tense around the pencil, already wanting to destroy something.*

Alanai: mmmmmmmMmMMMMM! —She thinks for a long time and then decides— This will be fun.

MEANWHILE

*Null was still resting to recover his energy after what had happened, but then he woke up when he sensed a presence that sent shivers down his spine.*

Null: Who's there!? —He says, looking around and preparing his sword— Who's here!?

*A drop of sweat slides down his forehead to his chin and falls to the ground, and his hands and shoulders are tense.*

*Then suddenly the earth cracks and the dimensions begin to collapse and space -time shattered and the very structure of the domain shook, almost breaking, and then a blinding flash appeared that pulverized the entire area except for Null, leaving the entire area in an endless void. When the flash faded, Alanai was standing in front of Null with a mysterious smile*

Alanai: Hello, Null, the Executioner of Alcanor. It's a pleasure to meet you.

Null: How do you know him?

Alanai: How do I know Alcanor? (Laughs) You can consider us whatever you want: brothers, relatives, family, etc.

Null: Why? —He looked around— How is it that...

Alanai: That? —She made a vague gesture toward the void where there had once been many trees, lakes, and mountains— That's not a problem.

Null: But why!? —He readied his sword— There could have been innocent people there! Don't you care about them!?

Alanai: Exactly, I don't care —laughs evilly— I just like entertainment, and my entertainment is destruction and that sort of thing.

Null: You're a- —He lunges forward and moves at a speed that completely breaks the sound barrier— I hope you're ready.

*Null attacks with all his strength, his movements completely imperceptible to the human eye, increasing his speed even more with the lightning element*

Alanai: Is that all the Executioner can do?

Null: (annoyed) Then I'll let you try what I can do!

*Null attacks with his sword at an incredibly high speed. The cut was so fast that it broke the oxygen, but...*

Alanai: Well, that was impressive, considering you're still half-human, —her said—. stopping his sword with just a glance, but you're not even remotely close to reaching my level.

*Alanai, with irrelevant speed, delivers an infinite number of blows to Null so powerful that they disintegrate almost his entire body, leaving only his head*

Null: (spitting out a large mouthful of blood) How is it that...

Alanai: You're not even at the level of a minor demon from hell (laughs), so... what will you do now?

Null: Damn it! Why didn't I regenerate?

Alanai: That? I nullified your immortality, so you can't automatically regenerate the next time I change the terrain (laughs maliciously). I decide whether you regenerate or not, but I'll give you permission this time.

*Alanai lets go of Null's head and snaps her fingers*

Alanai: Now you can regenerate.

*Null's body begins to regenerate rapidly. One minute later, his body and clothes are completely regenerated to how they were before.*

Alanai: Now this will be my test (laughs evilly). If you manage to hit me anywhere on my body, I'll let you live and maybe give you a gift—her tone was sincere but malicious—but I think you already know that it won't be easy, right?

Null: So if I manage to hit you once, you'll leave me alone?

Alanai: Exactly.

*Null stands up and stretches his whole body, then prepares himself and activates his three elements at once.*

Null: I'm ready.

Alanai: There's no time limit, so good luck.

*Null lunges and launches a series of consecutive attacks, each aimed at blind spots and difficult to dodge, but Alanai dodges them with absolute ease and with each attack he dodges, he returns it to Null with double the force and double the speed, hitting the most sensitive and susceptible areas to intense pain, such as the solar plexus, neck, or thighs, even in the groin.*

Alanai: Oops, —she said after hitting his groin—. I think I missed the kick (laughs).

Null: (on his knees) Was that necessary? —he said as he rolled on the ground trying to ease the pain—. Was it necessary to kick me there?

Alanai: Oh, come on, don't be a baby, I'll get up, she said with exasperation. We're just getting started and you're already crying. I can't imagine what it'll be like later.

*Weeks or even months passed, and Null still couldn't land a single blow. No matter how much he improved his accuracy, speed, strength, and reflexes, Alanai continued to evade him with absolute ease, remaining unperturbed as if he weren't even fighting.*

Null: "I won't give up," he —spat blood as he tried to move despite the large number of wounds and bruises that were forming all over his body due to Alanai's "weak" blows— "I'm not going to die here when I haven't even achieved my goal yet."

Alanai: In case you didn't know, in the middle of all this, I created a dimensional barrier that means even if millions of years pass here, in the real world only seconds will have passed, so you don't have to worry about that.

Null: (sighing) Thanks for the information, I guess.

*Null gets ready and the fight begins again.*
