"Speaking of your grandfather there's actually something we need to talk to you about." my dad said.
"What is it?" I asked curious about what he wanted to tell me.
"Well, your grandfather has got the salvation cult in the corner making them desperate, which has caused them to begin looking for us as either a revenge kill or to blackmail him. We expect that they would find us after a month, so we have decided to go back even if they aren't completely delt with."
'I think this is the first time I heard him mention the groups actual name, but this is concerning.'
"So, what is the plan." I asked curiously.
"Well under normal circumstances we would just go back to the main family's estate in the capital, but we can't do that. Due to being away for so long, just coming back will be ... controversial to say the least. Since we have time, I was planning to have you participate in the exam, and as long as you have a high enough result, we should be able to come back with little problems from other family members."
Hearing my dad's explanation, I started to understand what he wanted to do but a question arose in my mind, so I decided to ask.
"Why would coming back be controversial?" I asked
"You haven't had to deal with family politics before so it's hard to explain but I can try. The best way to put it is as part of the main family we left leaving behind a power vacuum which others filled. Now that were coming back people will have to give up the power that they grabbed so they will try to make any excuse they can to cause problems. The best way to avoid this is to use your talent since a great talent can give greater prestige and expand the family's influence, so they will have no excuse unless they want to be expelled for trying to sabotage the family."
"I guess that makes sense." I said with slight confusion.
"Alright," my mom said. "Now that that's done, we should finish dinner."
Soon after we finished dinner, I went to bed in order to prepare for my advancement.

After waking up I had a quick breakfast before asking where the isolation chamber was. Once I was told where it was, I headed towards the room.
The outside of the room was normal, just being a white door, but after opening the door it was anything but ordinary. It was a blank room with an isolation formation on the floor and walls.
An isolation formation is a formation that is made to isolate a certain space from all outside influences such as sound, mana, detection, teleportation, surveillance, and even objects if you decide. Because of how the isolation formation works it goes both ways, so nothing gets in, nothing goes out.
After entering the isolation room, I opened my status and commenced my advancement to the apprentice rank.

As soon as the advancement time commenced magic energy started to manifest around me before condensing into a black cocoon that surrounded me.
Slowly time started to pass by and the time for my advancement started to tick down.

Once the time for my advancement reached zero, cracks started to appear on the cocoon. It was originally a small crack that was barely 15 centimeters long, but then it started to gradually spread before covering the entire cocoon.
Soon after it started to break apart before revealing my form.
I remained mostly the same except for two changes. The most notable change was one additional tail that signified my successful advancement, but it was the other change which I would only notice later that brought me the most joy.
My height increased from 1.55 to 1.6 meters!
