"That's right, come eat it."

Watching Yuu approach closer, Black Wolf Fang showed a satisfied expression.

Yuu stared at the heart with a fanatical, feverish gaze, as if he couldn't wait to snatch it and devour it.

Black Wolf Fang took a step forward, directly offering the heart right in front of Yuu, mere inches away.

"Eat."

But Yuu suddenly looked up, his face terrified as he stared at the ceiling above.

Black Wolf Fang, who had been observing Yuu the whole time, also tensed up.

"Could there be a Demon Slayer Corps member hiding up there?"

Following Yuu's gaze, Black Wolf Fang abruptly threw his head back to look up.

But to his surprise, after carefully scanning the cave ceiling, he saw nothing—no Demon Slayer Corps members, not even a ghostly shadow.

"Then why did this brat suddenly look up?"

With his head tilted back, Black Wolf Fang couldn't help but wonder, but he quickly realized the truth.

"Damn! I've been tricked!"

The moment he realized he'd been deceived, Black Wolf Fang immediately tried to control his body to defend himself.

But he was still a step too slow.

He only felt an intense pain in his chin as his head suffered a heavy blow from Yuu. A dull impact sound and the crack of dense bone fractures echoed through the cave.

Having successfully tricked Black Wolf Fang, Yuu delivered a powerful uppercut from below with his right fist, squarely hitting Black Wolf Fang's chin.

In his previous life, to survive, Yuu had sparred in boxing for a while. Though he got beaten up pretty badly by others, he earned decent money and learned some relevant knowledge.

The chin is one of the three most vulnerable parts of the human body.

The other two are the liver and the area behind the ears.

When the chin or the area behind the ears suffers a heavy blow, the brain becomes disoriented and blurry, potentially leading directly to unconsciousness.

A heavy blow to the liver can cause severe internal injuries.

Even after turning into a demon, these areas should still be relatively vulnerable.

Yuu understood this, so he aimed all his attacks at Black Wolf Fang's weak spots.

A vicious uppercut sent Black Wolf Fang's entire head tilting backward unnaturally.

The tremendous strength of a demon directly shattered the bones in Black Wolf Fang's chin, with bone fragments piercing through the skin.

Compared to their terrifying strength, demons' physical defense seemed much weaker. Perhaps because they could regenerate infinitely and were immortal, they hadn't invested evolution points into defense...

Black Wolf Fang's vision went black, his head spinning and mind muddled. He wanted to fight back but couldn't control his body.

Having succeeded with his first strike, Yuu naturally pressed his advantage, relentlessly beating his opponent while they were down.

"Whew, that should be over for now."

After a seamless series of vicious attacks, Yuu let out a long breath.

Then he kicked Black Wolf Fang's headless body aside, planning to check on the poor person Black Wolf Fang had hunted before figuring out how to deal with Black Wolf Fang.

Killing a demon as a demon was incredibly difficult.

But Yuu had only taken a couple of steps forward when Black Wolf Fang's voice, filled with rage, came from behind.

"I haven't felt pain to this degree in a long time."

"Having my head blown off hurts like hell!"

Looking down, Yuu saw the red and white matter splattered on his clothes turning to ash and disappearing.

He turned to see Black Wolf Fang already standing up. His previously headless body was regenerating from the neck up at a visible rate.

As flesh and bone squirmed, his mouth had just finished reforming.

Yuu's eyes narrowed, feeling a hint of frustration.

He had made the mistake of relying on past experience.

Yuu only knew that demons had strong regenerative abilities. After turning into a demon himself, he had only regenerated broken fangs and recovered from injuries inflicted by the black-haired demon while unconscious, but he didn't know how long it took.

So he didn't truly understand just how powerful a demon's regeneration could be.

Therefore, using past experience, he assumed that blowing off Black Wolf Fang's head would severely injure him.

Even if he could regenerate, it should take considerable time—after all, the head was crucial for humans.

But how could demons be measured by ordinary logic?

In just a few breaths, Black Wolf Fang was already moving freely.

This was a mistake he couldn't afford to make again.

Shattering the head alone wasn't enough—he needed to crush the entire body at the very least.

Black Wolf Fang and Yuu charged at each other simultaneously, engaging in direct combat.

"Brat, I don't know how long you've been a demon."

"But I've been a demon for decades. Age is one symbol of a demon's strength."

Black Wolf Fang had never taken Yuu seriously. Not only were demons incredibly hard to kill, but the power gap between a newborn demon like Yuu and an old demon like himself was immense.

That earlier sneak attack was nothing.

As long as his neck wasn't severed by a Nichirin Blade, what did it matter if his head was blown off?

Brat, how can a newborn demon like you hope to compete with an old demon like me, Black Wolf Fang?

However, as soon as they clashed, Black Wolf Fang grew frustrated.

Because Yuu was as slippery as an eel. No matter how ferocious Black Wolf Fang's attacks were, he couldn't land a hit. Black Wolf Fang wasn't skilled in speed.

Meanwhile, Yuu was silently gauging Black Wolf Fang's strength and speed, trying to estimate the power of his enemy.

That black-haired demon from before had struck later but landed first. Yuu hadn't seen anything before his cheek was pierced and he was lifted up.

That black-haired demon was significantly stronger than this one in front of him.

But that unknown enemy had made the black-haired demon too terrified to even consider resisting, kneeling down to accept death...

Yuu sighed inwardly—the gap was just too vast.

Black Wolf Fang was both stronger and faster than Yuu, pressing him step by step.

But this level was still within Yuu's ability to handle.

However, continuing like this wouldn't give him the upper hand in battle. Black Wolf Fang wasn't stupid either. Though Yuu kept dodging, Black Wolf Fang was also shrinking his space to maneuver.

If he kept dodging, he would eventually have nowhere left to go.

Yuu needed a turning point, a moment that could reverse the battle's momentum.

And he had already thought of how to create that turning point.

At that moment, Black Wolf Fang curled his hand into a claw and viciously struck at Yuu's heart. Yuu, who had been dodging continuously, suddenly paused, his movements slowing by a beat.

Black Wolf Fang was overjoyed. The feeling of your opponent constantly dodging and refusing to engage directly was utterly infuriating.

Though continuing like this would eventually corner Yuu, the process still irritated Black Wolf Fang.

He preferred head-on, direct combat.

Seeing an opportunity, Black Wolf Fang used all his strength, fearing Yuu might react and escape again.

His claw strike became even more ferocious and sharp, his sharp nails extending slightly longer. The tips of his nails gleamed with a cold light, like the points of blades.

At the same time, Yuu smiled at him.

"Idiot, you fell for it again."

Then, contrary to Black Wolf Fang's expectations, Yuu showed no intention of dodging.

Not only did he not dodge, Yuu stepped forward, actively presenting his heart to Black Wolf Fang's claw.

"THUMP"

The sharp claws pierced flesh, splattering blood.

Yuu couldn't help but spit out a mouthful of blood.
