Kayden sat silently at the kitchen table as she fed Aster, who was currently in her booster chair eating applesauce. After she caught me using my powers, she wanted an explanation.
From what I saw in my memories, Kayden knew that I had Tinker levels of intelligence and that I didn't have a corona gema. Apparently, I did test positive for the metagene and that was something I already knew because Leyora told me what she had done to the world.
"Your father said you would awaken an ability completely different from his while also having his ability as well." Kayden said suddenly.
"What?!" My eyes widened at that.
My dad knew I would have an ability completely different than his.
Kayden nodded, a fond smile appearing on her face."Your dad was a metahuman. His ability made him extremely intelligent, intelligent enough that he could replicate tinker tech by making it his own. His technology couldn't be reproduced by other scientists or even tinkerers because it was so advanced that no one was smart enough to figure it out, not even Hero."
Kayden face lost her smile as she focused on me with her face becoming serious, "Aiden, I need you to tell me exactly what you think your power is and what you think you could do with it."
I had to think for a moment, just saying I controlled energy is an extreme lowball and vague explanation of my power. After thinking it through I told her, "I can use and control 6 of the main types of energy that were discovered and used by science."Kayden nodded so I continued, "I can use Mechanical, Radiant, Electrical, Thermal, Nuclear and chemical energy. What you walked in on was me using stablized nuclear energy. And before you say anything, I was extremely careful. I know the dangers of what would happen if I messed up but I've read many books on nuclear energy and fission, I would not put you or Aster at risk." I said as I saw her about speak when I talked about the nuclear energy.
Kayden closed her eyes and breathed in deeply before looking at me again, "Is there anything else."
I thought about what else until I remembered that Kayden had a Dragon tech microwave, "Can I dismantle your microwave?" That got me a deadpand stare so I explained myself, "There's this machine I've been planning on building that allows me to create my own custom metal alloys. And I can build you a better Microwave or just upgrade the oven to do both." I shrugged my shoulders.
Kayden sighed before she looked at me, "Aiden, are you planning on being a cape."
I had to think about that. Honestly me being hero would be boring to me. Especially in Brockton. The problem was, I didn't have the patience to wait for approval by ignorant people who wouldn't even have the slightest idea how my tech worked even if I threw blueprints in their faces.
No. I was not going to be a hero. I don't have the time or patience to deal with people who would seek to control me and limit my tech usage.
"Well definitely not a Hero. I'm not selfless enough to go out and save people everyday, I have better things to do. Maybe a rogue, I can just parade around as a Tinker and hide the full scope of my powers."
And I also need to read up on this world. If it's mixed with Parahumans and Metahumans like Leyora said, I need to learn about the ones in Brockton and the important ones that might be up there with the Triumvirate.
Kayden and I had discussed more on the topic before she made breakfast while I watched Aster. Kayden finally let me take apart her microwave after I turned two of her silver into pure gold and a piece of jewelry into diamonds. Thank you Firestorm.

Five hours later, I finished building the device. Kayden had stepped out a little while ago to head to the grocery store so it was just me and Aster, who was currently sitting on my lap as I was building it.
"Light!!" Aster shouted in excitement as I turned on the device.
I smiled down at her as she bounced in excitement. I already had plans to protect her. After I get set up and get some more materials.
Lifting her up and placing the 1 year old in her booster chair, trying hard not to laugh at the pout Aster was giving me as I inspected my device.
It looked like the allspark from the Transformers animated series except that the core in the middle was unpowered and there was a touch screen on the back. Once I power the device, the touch screen would be powered and it would allow me to change any metal into the selected fictional metal.
When I build my armor, the device can even target selected pieces of it that can be changed. But right now, since I used dragon tech from the microwave the device was currently at tier 2 and all I need to do is charge it to see which metals I have access to.
I really should name it because calling it the device.
I grabbed the handles on the device and began focusing on pouring my energy into it. The device began to glow and I could feel it charging but I could also feel myself becoming tired.
Aster began giggling and clapping at the pretty lights that filled the kitchen.
After about five minutes, the device beeped as it was done charging. I was exhausted just from powering this thing.
Energy can't be created nor destroyed so it has to take what I have. I guess building the arc reactor will be the thing, now let's see what metals I have access to.
I touched the touchscreen and looked at my options. I could also create raw ore of the metals as well for custom uses as well, which will come in handy when I make a rail gun.
Checking the metal options for tier two, I read the list of available metals.
Unobtainaium: A highly durable metal that's extremely conductive than any of earths conductive materials.
Secondary Adamantium: A much weaker version of Proto and True Adamantium.
Dwarf Star Metal : An extremely dense Metal capable of maintaining its density even when compacted in a smaller form.
Transformium: More durable than Titanium and is a programmable metal. With a powerful power source, armor made from this can shift into energy based weapons.
Amazonium: This metal is highly durable and is capable of reflecting energy blasts and mundane weaponry and withstanding powerful forces.
After looking over this List I began laughing out loud. It was basically mad cackling.
Only for Aster to steal my moment as she began laughing with me, only it was cute babyish giggles and happy squeals.
The next few days are gonna be exciting.
