Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Back there again

My fingers tapped the wooden table as my leg move up and down.

Hand on my face, still wondering what was that last night.

The pain in my skull disappeared when that thing disappeared alongside with my lack of sleep.

Complete black and slim body with each limbs longer than two or three story buildings.

Everytime I try to think about what that was, my head started to hurt just like last night.

I couldn't even remember what that was exactly, something is forcefully making me forget about it.

A God? Insane. Well it isn't too far off because I got reincarnated in this world.

I looked up at the class.

Tomas and Wesley was sitting together talking about something whilst Gideon is drawing something.

I scratched my head before I got up and walked over to Gideon.

"What are you drawing?" I asked, hands on his shoulder.

For a second, he jolted but realized it was me.

"Oh, it was just a concept of a machinery." He said.

I looked closer to see his drawing.

It looked like an humanoid machinery, large upper body where the driver will be with it's limbs being smaller but much longer, lightweight and mobile with a small chimney on top of the machine.

"What is this suppose to be?" I said.

"It's used for helping construction or just any manual labor jobs.

I'm just trying to help my brothers with their work, it will make life so much easier." he said.

Heh, such sweet dreams for a kid like him.

I put my hands on on top of his head, petting him.

"Well, I think you will become an amazing engineer in the future, keep it up!" I said.

He gave me a smile before looking back at his drawing.

"Thanks." He said.

"Alright class! Back to your seats now!" Our teacher yelled out at us.

I soon went back to my seat and continued studying.

***

RING!!!

The bell rings sharply outside the class through the hallway.

Every kids immediately starts packing their school supplies.

I finished packing mine and before I headed out, I came to my friends.

"What are you guys gonna do in the festival?" I asked.

"I have to help my family with some stuff." Wesley said.

"Same here." Tomas and Gideon followed.

"Well do you mind coming to my village for the celebration?" I said.

"Sorry, I can't come, I already have relatives to visit during that time." Wesley said.

"Yeah and I'm visiting Gideon too so your gonna be alone at that time." Tomas said.

"Ah, It's alright. I just hope it isn't as disastrous last year." I said.

"Oh, and also have you heard that the Grand Duke was going to visit our town?" Tomas said.

"Uh, no actually, I don't read newspapers." I replied.

"My mother said that, either way, he said he will show up the day after the festival so that means we will have two days off of school!" Tomas yelled out, his arms waving around in the air.

We all did the said, arms in the air. Celebrating.

"Well I have to go, I have to help my mother with groceries, you should too." Tomas said.

I nodded and waved goodbye to them as they left.

I've soon walked out the front door to the school front yard where the kids parents were waiting outside for them.

I walked alone, passing by many family picking up their children.

I kept looking at the family happy to see their kids, then saw a single father with his arms wide open embrace his child running towards him to for a hug.

Heh, it was like God was mocking me cause I don't have a father.

Well jokes on you! I'm not that emotional.

I scoffed an continued walking.

I got to the streets and looked to my left.

That was the same direction where we went to the rail yard.

And that murder scene.

I kept standing next to the streets, carriages and people passing by me.

I just stayed frozen, still looking at that direction.

Then I moved my legs and decided to go to that place again.

To finally end my curiosity of what happened back there.

Even if it even will.

Suddenly a vehicle passes by me, black smoke trailing off, covering my face.

Jesus Christ, the pollution is even worse than Ulaanbaatar.

Were cars and horse carriages used alongside with each other before?

I don't know but they were sure as hell advancing faster than I expected.

***

I peeked out the wall, observing my surroundings if there were anybody around.

Strangely, there was no body around that place where the murder scene happened.

And surprisingly there were no police officers patrolling around too.

The broken door was removed and replaced by a slim wooden wall that just covers the gaping door.

I moved and headed towards it.

Not even thinking twice on why I'm doing this.

Despite how creepy this house is.

Complete black with it's broken windows where the inside was complete darkness.

It felt like someone was watching me through that window.

Not a human but something more sinister

But I kept on moving.

A part of me said.

No don't do it. Don't go inside.

But another part of me said.

Yes do it. Go inside and end your curiosity.

Before I knew it, I was right up front of the slim wooden wall.

I could easily remove this by pushing by the side.

I looked at my back and sides.

To see if there was anybody watching my back.

When I knew there was no body watching, I looked back at the wood and put my hands on the side.

Ready to push it.

Then I forcefully moved it away by the side.

The wood slammed against the hard concrete ground.

And wind rushes out like something just exhaled.

The complete blackness covered everything inside.

Only the shining light from the sun could barely lighten it.

I lifted my leg.

And stepped in.

Suddenly I felt a strong force touch my shoulder!

Like someone's hand was stopping me from moving further.

I froze up, my heart stopped and my lungs released all of it's air.

"What are you doing here kid?" The person behind me said.

An older women, gentle but serious with her grip tightening on my shoulder.

I slowly looked back to see who this lady was.
