Chapter 60 - Chapter 58: Finding Some Other Fun

Henry had indeed guessed correctly - this talent and the release pearl's repair function were truly a match made in heaven.

Barely suppressing his excitement, Henry quickly climbed up to the first fork of the two-meter-high white fir.

The second fork was at least six or seven meters high, so it didn't hinder Henry at all from standing up on the first branch, which was over half a meter thick.

He first felt the mountain wind, spread his arms to test his balance, then moved his feet slightly to adapt to the feel of the branch.

With everything ready, Henry charged forward at a slow, steady pace, jumping when he was still over three meters from the other side - not waiting to reach the end to avoid the weight limit.

"Whoosh!" Henry landed easily and precisely in the center of the three-meter square platform on the opposite side - he had jumped at least 4.5 meters.

This truly gave Henry a feeling like the "Lingbo Weibu" lightness skill from martial arts novels.

Because these two peaks were over 700 meters high - far beyond the effective range of current rifles and pistols - most bandits would be ambushing halfway up the mountain or even lower.

This was why Henry chose to jump across at the very top - unless a bandit happened to be looking up in this direction at that exact moment, they wouldn't spot him.

So Henry wouldn't encounter bandits at the peak, and as long as he didn't deliberately show himself at the summit, the bandits below wouldn't discover him either.

Normal ambushing bandits all kept their eyes on the area below.

Henry wasn't in a hurry to walk down and search for possibly ambushing gangs. He walked one or two hundred meters from the peak top toward the end in Denver's direction.

He planned to start his search from that side unexpectedly, reducing his risk of exposure while increasing his chances of discovering the enemy.

After all, they wouldn't expect him to circle around to this direction, so they definitely wouldn't be heavily guarded there.

After spending over ten minutes reaching the end, Henry gradually walked downward while using his Reconnaissance LV3 skill and sharp eyesight to search for suspicious areas.

Wherever people passed, they inevitably left traces.

Because walking from top to bottom provided a broader view, he soon discovered five rather suspicious locations.

The most obvious trace was closest to the valley entrance and lowest - probably less than 30 meters above the valley, with severely trampled shrubs.

Henry strongly suspected that was where the possibly ambushing gang's vehicles and horses were stationed, so he carefully concealed himself and walked down toward that location.

The clothes he wore were obtained from the large warehouse of the McKinley family's metal smelting plant - multicolored with green as the main color, somewhat similar to military camouflage uniforms from his previous timeline. Even the hat was the same camouflage color. Unless he moved at high speed or someone got extremely close, they wouldn't spot him.

While still over twenty meters away, Henry heard someone inside cursing loudly: "Shit! Why is my luck so bad today? Damn Henry, why isn't he here yet? How long has it been? Made me lose so much!"

'Huh? I really found the right people?'

Henry silently praised his own caution and became even more careful, stealthily approaching.

At this time, Edith, Madeline, and Richard in the cave all lowered their heads to avoid attracting the attention of the furious Russell.

The other four bandits, seeing Russell couldn't handle losing, didn't add fuel to the fire and just continued playing cards with grins.

As for fearing Russell, that wasn't happening.

They were all desperados - who hadn't had their moments of madness?

Unless someone was particularly strong like Frank, others were basically on equal footing, with only Bick and a few other particularly young ones having slightly lower status.

Those with particularly accurate marksmanship had especially high status, second only to Frank.

They all disdained managing this and that, nothing like that ass-kissing pervert Jim could compare to.

Like the "Skull Gang" leader Bond who had died under Henry's gun.

Russell threw down his cards and quit the game.

With bad card luck, continuing to play would just mean more losses. Better to find some other fun.

Russell strode toward Edith and the others. After approaching, he didn't say anything to Edith - for some inexplicable reason, he just couldn't bring himself to do anything vicious to her.

He leaned his head near Madeline's neck and sniffed - so fragrant!

Although this girl wasn't as beautiful as that one, she had a better figure and nice skin. She was the cold, pale type he liked, and beautiful enough.

Madeline was frightened by his greedy, boar-like gaze and behavior, desperately trying to hide behind Richard, but there was nowhere to go.

Russell looked at the maid Ruth two meters away - she was decent too. If he didn't have this girl, she wouldn't be bad, but since there was something better, why settle for worse?

Richard saw Russell's eyes suddenly turn vicious and felt something terrible was about to happen.

These bandits could be speaking pleasantly one moment and turn hostile the next.

"She's my wife, also from noble birth. She'll also pay ransom, please don't hurt her!"

Russell hesitated for a moment, but now his lust had taken over his brain and he couldn't care about so much. Anyway, he roughly knew noble women weren't worth that much money.

If he had to consider everything thoroughly and fear this and that, he wouldn't have become a bandit.

However, Russell still wanted an extra insurance policy.

He grinned wickedly and asked his card partners: "Don't you guys want some fun? Except for that virgin noble girl who's worth more money and shouldn't be touched, these two are fair game. I'll take this one first, you guys decide who goes first with that one. After I'm done with this one, I'll have fun with that one too."

After speaking, Russell grabbed Madeline's arm and dragged her toward the cave entrance. His tremendous strength nearly made Madeline fall as she stumbled along screaming involuntarily.

"Be good and obedient, don't make me pull your hair or slit your throat!"

With his hands tied, Richard was now beside himself with rage, desperately chasing after them, violently twisting his upper body and shouting: "Let her go! Please let her go, we'll pay money—"

Russell completely ignored him and didn't want to be too rough - this was money after all!

If one kick gave this guy a heart attack, Frank wouldn't forgive him.

Forget it, if he wanted to be a spectator, let him follow along. It didn't matter.

Russell ignored Richard and kept dragging Madeline forward.

Edith had never experienced anything like this. Things had been fine for the past two hours, those two young bandits watching them had good attitudes. How did it suddenly turn like this?

At this time, the other four card-playing bandits were excitedly drawing cards to compare sizes, seeing who would get first taste of Ruth.

Bick and another young bandit watched enviously as they compared card sizes.

The maid Ruth trembled in despair.

Edith suddenly snapped awake and screamed as she rushed toward Russell, trying to stop him from dragging Madeline.

In less than half a minute, the not-so-large cave instantly became a scene of chaos.

At this moment Henry had just reached the cave entrance. After all, he had to conceal himself and the path wasn't easy to walk.

Additionally, while walking he had strapped on a throwing knife harness with 12 throwing knives at his waist.
