Chapter 28 - CHAPTER - 28 THREADS OF JEALOUSY

Liora's condition began to worsen.

Her body started trembling uncontrollably, and the heat rising from her skin was so intense that beads of sweat appeared on her forehead.

Snehwal quickly leaned toward her in panic. He grabbed the blankets nearby and covered Liora with more layers of cloth.

Then he took her hand and checked her pulse — it was weak, very weak.

A wave of worry ran through Snehwal's mind.

He thought to himself,

"If I don't help her now… she will die. I must save her."

He took a deep breath, placed both his hands over Liora's chest, and closed his eyes.

Slowly, he began to channel his energy. A soft green light flowed from his hands and merged into Liora's body.

Moments later, Liora's breathing started to stabilize. Her face looked calmer than before — as if life had gently returned to her.

Lily wasn't there at that moment.

And when all his energy was spent, Snehwal's eyes grew heavy —

fatigue took over him.

He collapsed beside Liora and drifted into a deep sleep.

After some time, Lily entered the room.

As soon as she saw Snehwal lying on the floor, her face filled with panic.

She ran to him and wrapped him in her arms.

"Snehwal! Snehwal, wake up… are you alright?"

She said in a trembling voice, gently patting his face, trying to bring him back to consciousness.

Fear and worry were clearly visible in Lily's eyes.

Then her gaze shifted to Liora, who was sleeping peacefully on the bed, as if nothing had happened.

Lily let out a sigh of relief, but seeing Snehwal's condition made her heart uneasy again.

She carefully lifted him up and took him to the next room,

where she laid him down on the bed and gently placed her hand on his forehead.

The soft morning rays spread across the room as Liora's eyes slowly opened. She looked around and sat up in surprise — there were so many clothes and sheets piled on top of her.

"Where… am I? And who brought me here?" she murmured, her voice still tired and confused.

As she removed the sheets and looked down, her face suddenly turned red. "Oh! Who did this… did Snehwal?" A faint smile appeared on her lips, as if she had understood something in her mind.

She let out a sweet stretch, then picked up a nearby sheet and wrapped it around herself. She said softly, "Let me see… where exactly am I."

Then, she carefully walked toward the door.

As soon as Liora stepped out of the door, she found Ignisa standing right in front of her.

Their eyes met — as if there was some old rivalry between them, though in truth, there wasn't.

Ignisa was the first to break the silence and asked, "Who are you?"

Liora replied calmly, "I'm Liora."

Slowly, a conversation began between them.

Liora said, "Thank you so much for saving me."

Ignisa quickly shook her head. "No, no… it wasn't me. It was Snehwal who saved you."

Hearing this, a faint spark lit up in Liora's eyes.

She immediately asked, "Snehwal? Where is he now?"

Ignisa answered casually, "He must be in the nearby forest — practicing."

The moment Liora heard that, she stood up quickly, smiled faintly, thanked Ignisa, and hurried off to find Snehwal.

In the nearby forest, Snehwal was training hard.

He was fighting a few magical beasts — level two creatures that roared and attacked fiercely.

In his hand was a sword glowing with a faint green energy — his own life force flowing through it.

Each swing of the blade released a subtle shimmer of light, cutting through the air with precision and control.

A little distance away, Lily sat on a large stone, deep in meditation. Her eyes were closed, her breathing calm — she was channeling her power, focusing on inner balance.

Snehwal, on the other hand, wasn't fighting to kill the beasts. He was using them for practice, testing his limits, learning to control his strength rather than destroy.

He moved with speed and grace, his energy steady and disciplined — every strike, every dodge a step toward greater mastery.

Unseen by either of them, Liora had arrived.

She stood behind the trees, watching everything quietly.

Her eyes followed Snehwal's every movement — the glow of his sword, the confidence in his stance, the rhythm of his breathing.

Neither Snehwal nor Lily realized that Liora was there, silently witnessing their world from the shadows.

Suddenly, Lily's eyes snapped open.

The calm of her meditation shattered in an instant — as if something had jolted her very core.

She stood up from the rock, anger flashing clearly across her face.

Her fists clenched tightly, and a fiery gleam burned in her eyes.

The air around her seemed to tremble with her energy —

as though even the atmosphere could feel her rising fury.

Taking a deep breath, she said coldly,

"Who's there…?"

Her eyes darted around sharply —

there was movement in the distance, and with burning determination, she started walking in that direction.
