Chapter 27 - CHAPTER - 27 A MOMENT OF TRUST

Lily looked at Snehwal, her eyes slightly wet. She slowly came closer, held his face in her hands, and said in a trembling voice,

"You will never leave me… right?"

Her words carried fear — the fear of losing love, the fear of being alone. Her eyes showed the pain of someone who had already suffered a lot.

Snehwal said nothing. He simply pulled her into his arms. Lily's heartbeat was fast — so fast that Snehwal could feel it. She was truly scared.

He gently stroked her hair, kissed her forehead softly, and said in a calm voice,

"I will never leave you, no matter what happens. Even if the world falls apart, I will always love you."

Lily looked into his eyes and asked, "Really?"

Snehwal smiled, "Really."

Lily whispered softly, "What if you start liking someone else… and get attracted to her beauty?"

Snehwal smiled and touched her cheek gently. "If that were true, would I still treat you with so much love till now?"

Lily said quietly, "Here, people can be made to do anything through hypnosis…"

Snehwal moved her face closer and said, "I am only yours… and I will always be yours."

Their hold on each other became stronger.

Lily rested her face on Snehwal's chest and rubbed it softly — as if she found safety in the sound of his heartbeat.

Lily spoke softly, "There are many hardships here… and enemies of love too."

Snehwal smiled, kissed her head again, and said,

"We are made for each other. No one can ever separate us."

Lily slowly lifted her face. Her eyes met Snehwal's.

In a trembling voice, she said, "Promise me you'll always stay with me. Never go anywhere alone again…"

Snehwal didn't reply — he just looked deep into her eyes, as if his silence itself was a promise.

Then he slowly leaned forward and pressed his lips against hers.

That moment — time seemed to stop.

They forgot who they were, lost completely in each other's presence —

as if the whole world had disappeared.

But then —

a sudden cough broke the magic.

Liora's weak coughing sound filled the room, breaking the silence.

Lily quickly moved back, and Snehwal's heart skipped a beat —

the moment that was only theirs a second ago had now turned back into reality.

Lily slowly looked toward Liora and quietly walked over to her. She sat down on the edge of the bed and placed her hand gently above Liora's chest, releasing a small wave of energy.

At that moment, Liora's breathing began to steady. Her face relaxed, and after a faint shiver, she slipped into a deep sleep.

Snehwal quickly asked, "Is she okay now?"

Lily nodded calmly. "Yes, by tomorrow morning, she'll be fine."

Snehwal looked at Liora for a moment, then said, "Change her clothes too."

Lily stared at Snehwal for a second — her eyes unreadable — and then gave a small nod in agreement.

Then Lily slowly changed Liora's clothes and wrapped her in a white sheet. That sheet seemed to symbolize peace and simplicity, as if Liora had fallen into a deep, calm sleep.

Snehwal watched this and said softly, "Give her some of your clothes."

Lily immediately shook her head and said sharply, "No… absolutely not."

There was both irritation and possession in her voice. Snehwal didn't say anything—he just quietly looked at Lily's face. He knew that behind her anger was not just annoyance, but a woman's natural emotion—the unwillingness to let anyone else have even a glimpse of her love.

Lily stayed silent for a while, then turned around without saying a word and started walking toward the door.

Snehwal called out, "Where are you going now?"

Lily turned slightly and said calmly, "I'm going to talk to my sister."

Snehwal replied, "I'll come with you."

Then Lily took her staff (the magical rod) from the necklace around her neck and struck it lightly on the ground, saying, "You rest. The 'Divine Water' is a very important resource for us, and that's why we're staying here."

Snehwal watched her leave and thought to himself,

"Lily is doing all this for me…"

She reached the door, paused for a moment, and then walked out of the room without looking back.

After Lily left, silence filled the room. Only the soft flicker of a lamp's flame remained, and a cool breeze from outside gently moved the curtain.

Snehwal's eyes slowly turned toward Liora. For a moment, he just looked at her — her face was calm, innocent, and glowing with a faint divine light. Her breathing was steady now, as if sleep had taken away her pain for a while.

Snehwal let out a quiet sigh, then said softly,

"Forgive me, goddess… I'm very tired. And there's no other bed here."

He hesitated for a moment, then gently adjusted the edge of the sheet and lay down beside Liora, on the edge of the same bed.

Fatigue took over him almost instantly. The night air moved slowly outside, and in the quiet room, only Liora's soft breathing and Snehwal's tired sighs could be heard.

The mid - night was closing in.Liora's condition suddenly worsens, signaling danger.
