Chapter 124 - Chapter 124: Stealing the Liyue

"Is this what you call a plan?" Yu Jin asked, looking at the sneaking Venti and Lumine outside the Cathedral of Favonius, somewhat incredulously.

The Anemo God wanted to retrieve the lyre he once played, and he had to steal it?

"Shh! Keep it down!" Although he hadn't even entered the Cathedral of Favonius, Paimon had already gotten into his role.

Yu Jin looked at the constantly fluttering little guy in front of him. How had he not noticed before that this fellow was such a good actor?

"By the way, I don't think we need to be so sneaky, do we? It's not like we have to steal it yet."

Lumine also reacted at this moment. She straightened up. She was saving the Four Winds, so why did it feel like she was doing something bad?

"Oh, come on, it's about the atmosphere! Since you both say so, then let's go and borrow it," Venti scratched his head.

Then he led everyone into the Cathedral of Favonius.

The Cathedral was still clean and tidy. It was afternoon, and people were coming and going in an endless stream. The interior of the church was a busy scene.

Although there were many people, the Cathedral was still very quiet. Most of the people here were devout followers of the Anemo God, and they dared not neglect their prayers.

However, everyone still found an unoccupied nun in a white habit inside the Cathedral.

Gothelinde, a nun responsible for handling the Cathedral's official business, would occasionally answer questions from the faithful when she had free time.

Clearly, Gothelinde was in a state of leisure.

So Yu Jin and Venti pressed Lumine onto a chair and strode forward.

"Why did you follow along?" Venti asked in a low voice, looking at Yu Jin who was following him closely.

"I'm very good at getting along with nuns," Yu Jin replied in a low voice. If the Fire Keeper counted as a nun, that is.

Soon, the two arrived in front of Gothelinde.

"May the Anemo God bless you, Mr. Yu Jin, and the young poet. Is there something you need?" Gothelinde smiled and nodded slightly when she saw Yu Jin and Venti approach her.

"Hello, Sister Nun."

"Hello, Big Sister Nun."

Then Yu Jin watched Gothelinde's smile change from radiant to cold. What a magical transformation.

Venti looked at Gothelinde's expression and wished he could jump up and hit Yu Jin's head. Is this what you meant by "I'm very good at getting along with nuns"?

"Ahem!" Venti cleared his throat, then leaned in mysteriously towards Gothelinde and said, "Actually, I've uncovered a secret that can resolve the crisis..."

"Then you should report it to the Knights of Favonius, young poet."

"As long as we use the power of the lyre of the heavens..."

"No, young poet."

"Big Sister..."

"No, young poet."

"I'll do it! I guarantee on the good name of the Adventurers' Guild that the lyre of the heavens will be returned in perfect condition!"

"No, young... *cough*, Mr. Yu Jin," Gothelinde choked a little, then said,

"Mr. Yu Jin, I recall you don't hold any position in the Adventurers' Guild, do you? If you put the Guild's reputation on the line like that, Mr. Cyrus would cry."

"Besides, aren't you busy? I remember the commissions at the Adventurers' Guild are almost piled up like mountains."

Yu Jin and Venti appealed to her emotions and reasoned with her, but Gothelinde was unyielding and simply refused to lend them the lyre of the heavens.

In desperation, Venti and Yu Jin exchanged glances. It seemed they could only use 'that' move.

Venti stepped forward, deliberately deepening his voice, "Phew... There's no other way. I can no longer conceal it."

Then he spread his hands, raising his voice even louder, "My devout followers, rejoice! Standing before you is Barbatos himself!"

"I vouch for him! I guarantee on my name as a Great Adventurer that he speaks the truth!" Yu Jin also chimed in at the opportune moment.

The two of them worked in tandem, as if it were real. The Cathedral was instantly filled with a lively atmosphere... "Tsk, you're no good. No one believes you," Yu Jin sat on a chair in the Cathedral, complaining to Venti beside him.

Venti, however, wasn't angry. He leaned back on the bench, smiling, and said, "I actually think it's your problem. If you weren't so frivolous, maybe it would have worked?"

"Alright, Lumine's back." Yu Jin didn't say anything more. He looked up at Lumine, who was returning empty-handed from a distance.

"I couldn't borrow it." Lumine looked at Yu Jin and Venti, shaking her head.

"Normal."

"It seems the Knights of Favonius's super rookie isn't important enough."

Yu Jin and Venti both nodded, not at all surprised.

"Hmph, since the village won't give the best sword to the hero, to defeat the Demon King, we'll just have to take it by cunning!" Venti stroked his chin, chuckling a few times.

"Actually, I don't want to steal things," Lumine said, looking at the smiling Venti, spreading her hands helplessly.

"But it's okay, I'll help you. Because I don't want to see [separation] again," Lumine said at the end, covering her chest with a smile... Late at night, three uninvited guests appeared inside the tightly shut Cathedral of Favonius.

It was Yu Jin, Venti, Lumine, and Paimon!

Actually, by turning invisible, they could have simply 'borrowed' the lyre of the heavens during the day. However, considering that everything needs atmosphere, Yu Jin still waited until late at night.

"Go for it, you two!" Venti cheered on Yu Jin and Lumine at the entrance of the Cathedral's storage room.

But with a wave of Yu Jin's hand, their figures vanished together. This made Venti, who was about to say something more, stop dead in his tracks.

What else could he say? Tell them not to steal all the artifacts of the Church of Favonius?

The Cathedral of Favonius had a world of its own; although the door to its storage room was small, the internal space was quite large.

All sorts of shelves were filled with ancient-looking artifacts or books. Some exceptionally precious ones were even specially covered by glass display cases.

And the lyre of the heavens was on a high platform at the end of the storage room. The Church of Favonius had prepared a large room specifically for it.

There were no protective measures around the lyre of the heavens. Perhaps it was because the lyre of the heavens was a famous treasure of Mondstadt, so there was no need to worry about it being stolen.

After all, as soon as it appeared outside, it would be recognized at a glance.

As for dust, although the lyre of the heavens was ancient, the divine power of Barbatos still lingered on it.

Although these faint powers were not very useful, they could still clean the dust off the lyre of the heavens.

With the help of turning invisible, breaking through the already not-so-strict defenses of the storage room was as easy as pie.

In a short while, Yu Jin and Lumine arrived in front of the high platform. Yu Jin looked at the somewhat dilapidated lyre before him, only able to sigh at the power of time.

As Lumine reached out to take the lyre of the heavens, a purple figure suddenly flashed before her eyes.

That figure took the lyre of the heavens one step ahead. It seemed she was quite surprised that she could obtain Mondstadt's ultimate treasure so easily.

But she clearly hadn't anticipated the presence of two other people here.

A huge wooden stick suddenly appeared in the air, and then this wooden stick struck the back of the Electro Cicin Mage's head with an unnatural speed.

"Clang!" The Electro Cicin Mage fell to the ground in response. Then Lumine seized the opportunity and hugged the lyre of the heavens, which was flying in the air.

"This is so annoying, why are the Fatui everywhere?" Yu Jin complained, looking at the Electro Cicin Mage at his feet.

"Let's go, Senior!" Lumine looked at the lyre of the heavens in her hand. Since the mission was complete, there was no need to stay here.

However, just as the two were about to leave, a startled cry suddenly came from behind them:

"Hey... What the hell! The lyre of the heavens is flying on its own!"

"???" Yu Jin then realized that he had forgotten to make the lyre of the heavens invisible as well.

To others, the lyre of the heavens now appeared to be floating directly in the air!

"Run!" Yu Jin grabbed Lumine's hand and ran straight out of the storage room... After this, an urban legend appeared in Mondstadt City. It is said that in Mondstadt at deep night, one might occasionally see a floating lyre, and closely following behind it, a lyre-chaser swift as the wind.
