"Well, before I answer that question, I have a statement to make."
Leon glanced at him in surprise.
He's taking my pleasantries so seriously.
"The following statements represent my personal views only, not those of the Xianzhou Alliance. I am a Galaxy Ranger, not some Heavenly General. I hope this is understood."
Leon was offering a courtesy before the conflict.
"Are you suggesting you wish to go to war with The Family?"
Sunday asked with a serious expression.
"What was your name again? Something to do with a day of the week?"
Leon motioned for him not to rush.
"I have no particular interest in Penacony to begin with."
"If the target I'm looking for wasn't here, I doubt I would have ever set foot in this land of dreams."
"I'm here looking for someone."
Leon continued, "If you can find them for me directly, I'll be very grateful and leave without another word."
"Who are you looking for?"
Sunday asked, his brow furrowed and his expression grave.
Looking for someone? Could there really be a person in Penacony who warrants an Emanator, or even the Xianzhou Alliance itself, sending forces to retrieve them? If such a person were truly in Penacony, it's impossible that the Dream Master wouldn't know. Who is this person he speaks of?
"I'm looking for Mikhail."
Leon moved his SoulGlad in front of the girl beside him and said casually.
"Mikhail?"
The name sounded vaguely familiar to Sunday, but he was certain he had no memories associated with it.
"As far as I know, there is no one in Penacony by the name of Mikhail."
Sunday shook his head.
"If you wish, I can dispatch the Hounds to search. I will notify you the moment we have any news."
"You aren't lying, but someone is."
Leon said pointedly. "Do not underestimate the intuition of The Hunt. I will be the one to determine whether Mikhail is here or not."
The room fell into silence.
"Mikhail is already dead."
After a long moment, a deep male voice with multiple overtones echoed out of thin air in the room.
"I've said it already. Whether he's here or not, dead or alive, I will be the one to decide."
Leon looked up toward the source of the voice, where a crow painted purple was perched.
"And what if I am unwilling to grant you passage?"
The Dream Master stared directly at him.
"You are more than welcome to try," Leon laughed heartily.
"You are very confident, but please remember—The Family is humble and modest, but never weak."
He was acting as if he held The Family in complete disregard, so naturally, the Dream Master wasn't going to show him any courtesy.
"Heavenly General of The Hunt, The Family respects the Alliance, but that does not mean we fear it."
"The strings of Harmony resound throughout the cosmos. If you try to use force, you will never escape the wrath of the 'Infinite Father' under Xipe for the rest of your life."
If one were to ask who in the cosmos could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Xianzhou Alliance, it would be The Family. Calling upon an Aeon for backup? As if they were the only ones who could. Every Emanator of Harmony is cloaked in the radiance of Xipe. When the Xianzhou Alliance summons the Reignbow Arbiter, there is still an element of uncertainty, but for The Family, it's a hundred-percent guarantee.
"I look forward to it."
Leon nodded, then stood up.
"So, your stopping me... is it because you have a guilty conscience?"
"I'm not one to entrust my belongings to the care of others."
Leon gave his answer.
"But I can promise you that, barring any unforeseen circumstances, neither my arrows nor the Heliobus will be aimed at Penacony."
"So, you had best not let me discover anything in Penacony that would compel me to act."
"Otherwise, you'd better hope this 'Infinite Father' of yours truly has what it takes to achieve mutual destruction with me."
Those were Leon's final words before leaving with March 7th. Coming from a Galaxy Ranger, the meaning of his words was self-evident.
With the polite, soft click of the door closing, the room once again fell into a deep silence. After a long while, Sunday spoke up.
"Dream Master, are you not going to stop him?"
"He cannot be stopped," the Dream Master shook his head.
He had long heard that this Heavenly General was extremely independent and acted solely on his own accord. It turned out to be true. One could say he had absolutely no sense of decorum. Not even the Marshal of the Xianzhou Alliance would dare to declare war on The Family so directly, but he did.
What you see is what you get. This Leon was quite the character.
"Getting his guarantee is good enough."
The guarantee of a Heavenly General still carried weight. The Dream Master had never expected him to obediently leave Phantylia behind anyway.
"So that Heliobus really is Phantylia? But wasn't she dead?" Sunday asked, in disbelief.
He truly couldn't imagine that the once majestic Lord Ravager had been reduced to such a pathetic state.
"She is."
The Dream Master nodded, affirming it.
Before seeing her with his own eyes today, he too had thought Phantylia was dead. It turned out she had been taken in as a dog.
What a pity. If only Leon had been willing to leave Phantylia. Tuning an Emanator of Destruction to the side of Harmony would not only avenge a past humiliation, but it would also have greatly increased the success rate of his plan. Alas, he was getting ahead of himself again.
"I recall Robin returned not long ago, correct?"
The Dream Master said, having thought of something.
"Yes, she just came back a few days ago."
Sunday didn't understand why he was suddenly asking this.
"Have her monitor this Heavenly General. Have her report to me on time with any developments."
The fact that Phantylia wasn't dead, far from diminishing Leon's standing, had actually elevated it further.
Everyone who now knew of this clash between Emanators believed that Phantylia had died under the great power of an Aeon. The Hunt and Destruction.
One had to understand that Aeons don't care where you're from or who you are; if you show off, they'll send you flying. Especially The Hunt. The words 'show mercy' do not exist in their dictionary.
The fact that Phantylia was still alive implied two possibilities.
One, Lan held back.
Two, Lan simply fired off a signal arrow to support the 'streamer' and liven things up.
Although there were two possibilities, the nature of both was the same. That is, Leon is deeply favored by an Aeon, and there's even a probability that he can command It.
To be able to summon Lan again... how terrifying.
"No!"
Upon hearing this, Sunday immediately shot up, slamming his hands on the table.
"This assignment is too dangerous! If someone needs to monitor him, then let me go!"
This Heavenly General was far too unpredictable. Who knew when he might snap? How could he assign such a high-risk mission to his own sister?!
"What would you do? Willingly take one of his arrows?"
The Dream Master preened his feathers and glanced at him, telling him not to cause a scene.
"Even so, I cannot watch my sister walk into a dangerous situation with my own eyes!" Sunday refused to back down.
"Robin once spent some time with this Heavenly General, and they got along quite harmoniously. Didn't she tell you?"
Robin at least has some emotional foundation with this Heavenly General. You, Sunday, what do you have?
"What?!"
Sunday clutched his head with both hands, his eyes widening in shock as if he were a flounder, clearly in disbelief.
"Why didn't she mention a single word of this to me?!"
Sunday couldn't accept it.
"She's a grown woman. What's wrong with having a little privacy? She has her own life, you know."
