Chapter 27: What I Saw in the Madhouse
"Hey, Luze!"
Bathed in the sunshine, recalling what had just happened, Lu Ze was about to say a few words when he heard Luo Shan's voice coming from the front desk. She leaned out of the front desk and waved at him.
"What's wrong?"
Lu Ze walked over and asked.
"The captain has gone out for something. Before he left, he told me to hurry up and get that mental health evaluation done. It would be best if it's finished before the welcome dinner."
"Oh yeah, there's this thing as well."
Lu Ze finally remembered. He'd been so busy since joining the team that he'd forgotten about it. The welcome dinner was Friday night, and it was already Wednesday, so he didn't have much time left.
"I see. Then I'll go to the mental hospital tomorrow."
Lu Ze agreed casually.
At this time, he noticed that Luo Shan had a strange expression on her face, as if she had something to say but was feeling uncomfortable.
"What's wrong?"
"Lu Ze, I heard that Old Neil gave you the property. Is this true or false?"
There was a gossipy look in Roshan's eyes.
"You know all this."
Lu Ze couldn't help but laugh. Luo Shan was really well-informed.
"Wow, that must be worth a lot of money!"
Luo Shan was actually quite afraid of him at first, but after getting to know him for a while, she gradually relaxed. Hearing Lu Ze say this, she immediately showed an envious expression, "That's great! If I had such a large sum of money, I would definitely make a lot of money if I used it for investment."
"invest?"
"Yes. Look, the newspaper says a large iron ore mine has been discovered in the Honachis Mountains. They're planning to set up a company to develop it and are looking for investors. They say the rate of return is very high." Luo Shan said as she handed him the Tingen City Honest Man's Newspaper. "Would you like to consider making money from money?"
Thanks to Russell, the concept of "stocks" became widespread around the world. Many companies used this method to quickly raise funds, some of which made huge profits, but there were also cases where investors lost everything.
Lu Ze took a quick look. The description in the newspaper was similar to what Luo Shan had described. In addition, the ad included a photo of the mine and a portrait of the head of the mining company. He was a young man with a full forehead and black hair. He had an ordinary appearance and wore glasses, but his smile was warm.
"I'd better forget it."
Lu Ze smiled and shook his head. "Investing is risky. It's better to just lie back and collect rent."

the next day.
Lu Ze raised his head and looked at the building in front of him with a complicated expression.
A double-height wall enclosed a large area. Through the iron gate, one could see the lawn and activity plaza within, as well as the three-story building beyond. People in hospital gowns were scattered about, some dazed, some silent, some screaming and giggling. The scene was both lively and eerie. Dozens of doctors and nurses wandered among them, their faces weary and even more unhealthy than the patients themselves.
This is the Greenhull Mental Health Center, commonly known as the Tingen City Lunatic Asylum.
"It's so nice, it feels like coming home."
He laughed at himself.
Looking through Lu Ze's memories, he recalled many things about coming here. The embarrassed faces of his parents who had spent a lot of money, his sister's crying face when she was scared by the madman in the yard, and himself being locked tightly in a straitjacket and forced to drink various drugs. Later, because there was no effect, his parents reluctantly gave up treatment and stopped coming here.
So, there was nothing wrong with Lu Ze saying "going home" when he saw the mental hospital.
"Lu Ze, don't say that!" Cecilia, who had come with him, interrupted immediately, "You are a healthy and normal person, not a lunatic!"
"Okay, okay, I'm a normal person." Lu Ze comforted his sister, "Shouldn't we just go find a doctor and ask him to prove that I'm normal?"
Cecilia stopped talking, but hugged his arm and followed him through the iron gate into the asylum.
Lu Ze could feel her hands trembling slightly. She was still as afraid of lunatics as she was when she was a child.
"How about you wait for me outside?"
He asked in a low voice.
Cecilia shook her head.
It was like this at home before. When she knew Lu Ze was going to the mental hospital, she insisted on coming with him. Lu Ze could understand her sister's feelings. She was probably worried that something might happen to Lu Ze. He had finally recovered, but what if he went to such an unlucky place and was provoked by other patients or doctors and had a relapse? This was the kind of worry that came from unscientific, but heartfelt concern.
Lu Ze had no choice but to hold his sister's hand and walk into the dark treatment building, just like when Lu Ze took Cecilia across the street when they were children.
Cecilia slowly stopped shaking.
The crazy people around them were making noise and crying, but Lu Ze felt very peaceful in his heart.
After entering the treatment building and explaining her purpose to the nurse at the door, she was clearly surprised. After checking the medical records and confirming that Lu Ze was indeed a patient, her surprise deepened.
"Could you please take us to see Dr. Chris Wilder? He was my attending physician at the time."
Lu Ze said.
"Oh, all right! Dr. Wilder's in his office on the third floor. It's the first door on the left when you go up this staircase."
The nurse pointed the way in a somewhat flustered manner as he watched.
Lu Ze had initially thought the nurse's attitude was excessive, but he hadn't expected Dr. Wilder's behavior to be even worse. He completed the entire examination, then put down the meter in astonishment. "Everything's normal! How did you do that?"
I did it after dying once.
"I encountered something unexpected, and after surviving it, my mental illness was cured."
Lu Ze said casually.
"Mr. Londall, please be serious. Your case might become a new method for treating mental illness."
Wilder was a little angry.
"Don't be angry, Dr. Wilder. My recovery from mental illness was purely a coincidence. It's impossible for it to happen to anyone else. The specific reason is also an official secret. Please forgive me for not telling you." Lu Ze said, "Please issue the certificate of recovery as soon as possible. I'm in a hurry to go home."
"Go home? You can't go home tonight."
Unexpectedly, Wilder flatly rejected this request.
"Why?"
Lu Ze almost suspected that he had heard it wrong. Cecilia beside him immediately became excited, "My brother is fine now, do you still want to control him?"
"Don't misunderstand me, Miss Londor."
Dr. Wilder explained, "Your brother is indeed in good condition now, but he has had this kind of illness relapse in the past. As a final check, I will observe him overnight to see if he has any seizures - this is my responsibility as a doctor."
Cecilia glared at him. "What if we don't want to stay?"
"I'm very sorry, but I won't be able to sign the certificate. I have to be responsible to my patients. Please note that I'm not trying to be difficult for you. If you're dissatisfied with me, you can come back the day after tomorrow. There will be another doctor qualified to issue the certificate, and you can ask him to sign it. But if you come to me, you must pass my full set of tests."
Wilder made it very clear that he could either stay in the hospital overnight or wait until the next day to get another doctor with less stringent requirements to sign.
What should I do?
Lu Ze hesitated for a moment.
Stopped
