Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 Encounter with “Spider Silk”

As there were no women's clothes in the place where Connors lived, the next day Harley went out with him in a man's outfit. A pair of simple blue jeans, cinched tight at the waist, and a crisp white button-down shirt. The outfit should have been plain, but on her, it looked incredibly capable.

The only problem was that because the shirt was too wide for her, and because it was a vacuum inside, the fabric gaped and shifted with every step, offering tantalizing glimpses of the pale, soft skin beneath. She walked around the apartment, completely oblivious, and walked until Connors' spirit burst out.

So, their morning became a verb. By the time the two officially went out, it was almost twelve o'clock.

In Connors's imagination, he joined hands with Harley Quinn, and the first thing he had to do was to make things happen. Whether it was Harley Quinn intending to exact revenge on the Joker or eating a big Super melon himself, at least it would fit the identity of a time-traveler.

But he never expected that the first thing the two of them did was actually to buy clothes.

Under Connors's intentional or unintentional guidance, black stockings, short shorts, and tight T-shirts were worn on Harley Quinn. Her hot figure was clearly displayed, and she frequently attracted the attention of passers-by while walking on the street.

His eyes moved away from her long legs wrapped in black stockings. Connors clicked "no" on the system in his mind and was about to drive to the Arkham Asylum when the spider-sense gave a sudden warning.

No, it's not an early warning.

The spider-sense acted like instinct, and quickly passed the information into his mind. Unlike the danger warnings when he was stared at by Batman at night, the distinctness conveyed by the spider induction at this point was another message, or attraction.

"Get in!" Connors pulled the door open and jumped in, and Harley Quinn did not move slowly, even getting in quite nimbly through the window on the other side.

"Hey, Red!" she cheered, her eyes sparkling with manic excitement. "Are we going to start making a big fuss? I know where I can get heavy firearms!"

Harley Quinn sat in the co-pilot with a little excitement. Had it been a convertible, she certainly would not have hesitated to stand up. But at this point she was only half-lying in her seat, with a pair of long legs wrapped in black stockings resting on the windshield.

"Can you get it?" Amidst the roar of the engine, the car dashed into the road leaving a trail of smoke, and Connors, holding the steering wheel in one hand, curiously glanced at Harley Quinn.

"Yes, the Joker was able to escape from Arkham because I got him a gun and explosives, but he abandoned me..." She shook her head, the madness returning to her eyes. "Red, you are going in the wrong direction."

Connors nodded, understanding the Joker's way of escaping from Arkham, but he simply ignored Harley for pointing out the wrong route. He wasn't going to Arkham Asylum or getting a gun, he was going after that unknown attraction in his Spider-Sense.

WHOOSH!

Under his deliberate observation, a figure swinging back and forth among the tall buildings was captured. This was the source of the attraction in the spider's induction.

"Oh! Red, are you chasing that guy?" Harley also noticed the figure at high altitude, and immediately left behind what she had just been going to do with a firearm. She even poked half of her body out of the open car window and shouted at the red and black figure in the air: "WOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOO!"

She didn't know who the other person was, or what she was after, but she was carried away by the thrill of lightning that Connors' frantic acceleration brought at this point, and she shouted unconsciously.

Smack!

Connors slapped Harley on the hip, allowing her to get back into her seat as he hit the accelerator to the bottom.

Soon, they had attracted the wrong kind of attention. Ignoring traffic regulations and speed, Gotham's police officers followed, and the sirens sounded loudly.

"Let's move apart later," Connors said, swerving through several intersections before pulling the car into a curbside parking spot, as if they hadn't just been in a high-speed pursuit. "I'll go after that guy. You think of a way to create some chaos, be careful not to get caught."

He knew that even now, Harley Quinn had not undergone a series of subsequent changes, and her physical fitness was no different from ordinary people, but the other party was a criminal psychology expert after all. Just a few policemen couldn't handle her.

"What about you? Are you going to leave me aside like the Joker?" Harley Quinn twisted with pretense.

"You also know where I live. See you on the rooftops," Connors laughed, opening his door and leaving first. For a crazy beauty like Harley Quinn, it was useless to rely on coaxing; she wasn't some pretty little girl.

Although he did not go to Arkham Asylum for a walk, the goal of getting Connors to eat melons was achieved because of the police pursuit behind him. Harley Quinn went to create chaos, allowing him to eat a melon from her actions, and at the same time, he went after the figure wandering in the sky. Although it was an ordinary little melon—"Harley Quinn makes a fuss on the streets of Gotham"—it was better than nothing. He couldn't let her carry a baseball bat to challenge Batman now, right?

Harley Quinn also wanted to follow Connors after the mysterious man, but the current situation really didn't make it possible for the two of them to act together, so she twisted her butt and got into the driver's seat.

The sound of sirens and the roar of cars faded away. Connors looked up and saw that the mysterious man had long since disappeared, but the spider's sense was still there. He looked from side to side, jumped up the stairs on the exterior wall of a building, and climbed up quickly.

Climbing the stairs was nothing to him. He was at the top of the building in seconds, and then it was empty.

"Strange, the spider-sense says that this is obviously the place…"

Connors was puzzled. Then, his ankles tightened and he was hoisted headfirst into the air.

Bad, careless!

His heart tightened, and before he could move, his hands were tied, and he could not escape. But even then, there wasn't any danger warning in the spider-sensing, and Connors couldn't help wondering if the thing was malfunctioning.

Soon, however, when a woman in red-gray-white tights with the lower half of her face covered by a red mask appeared in his sight, Connors seemed to understand.

Shoulder-length short hair, a cobweb-patterned bodysuit, a proud figure lurking underneath, a red face mask. This range of features was not unfamiliar to Connors, but rather familiar:

"Spider-Silk" Cindy Moon!

The moment he saw her, the reason why the spider-sense seemed to be malfunctioning became clear. It wasn't a malfunction; it was that the other person had no malice. He had spider-induction, and Cindy had it too, and this thing attracted them to each other like a magnet. In the comics, under the influence of "Spider Induction," Spider-Silk and Spider-Man would collide with each other as soon as they met.

"Hi—"

Connors wanted to say hello, but only halfway through opening his mouth, he was stopped by her soft lips under the spider-silk mask.

"!!!"

This is so exciting?! The comics really weren't kidding!

With his eyes wide open, he looked at the "Spider-Silk" face that was close at hand. Unlike the wild beauty of Harley Quinn, Cindy had black hair and black eyes, and was full of classical temperament.
