Victor raised his sword, and frost slowly gathered on it. The temperature around him dropped quickly.
"Frostshatter Sky-Cleaving Slash!" Victor swung his sword and slashed hard at the female Orc.
"Ah!" The female Orc screamed, writhing on the ground.
"If you don't want to die, answer whatever I ask you," Victor said coldly.
The best way to deal with an Orc with low intelligence was to scare them with force.
"I'll tell you! I'll say anything!" The frost blade was stuck in the female Orc's body, making her in terrible pain.
"Why did you copy Erica's voice?" Victor asked the question he was most worried about.
"I just happened to meet her, heard her voice, thought it sounded nice, and wanted to copy it." The female Orc's answer was really weird, and Victor was speechless.
"Then I met you, and I thought I could trick you and get something good out of it..." The female Orc continued to explain.
"Why didn't you kill Erica?" Victor asked, confused.
"She... she was a meal that Ox King had already ordered. We didn't dare touch her!"
"Ox King? Who the hell is Ox King?" Victor rubbed his forehead and sighed, feeling a headache coming on.
Odin wasn't dealt with yet, and now there was another Ox King.
The female Orc said, "He's an Orc from the mix of Mighty Rhino and humans. We call him Ox King! That human girl stepped into Twilight Forest, and Ox King found her right away."
"So Erica is with him now?" Victor asked quickly.
"Yes, Ox King tied her up and took her to his cave. He plans to eat her tomorrow." The female Orc said quickly.
"Damn it!" Victor cursed, and said seriously, "Where is he?"
The female Orc pointed in a direction. "In the biggest cave on the top of the mountain."
"If you're lying to me, I have a million ways to make you wish you were dead," Victor said coldly.
"I got it wrong... it's in the cave with the rhino symbol on the hillside," the female Orc said, looking down and speaking softly.
"Hmph!" Victor sneered and ran toward the hillside as fast as he could.
If he waited too long, he really worried something might happen to Erica.
Soon, Victor reached the hillside. There were many caves, and many of them had loud growls and shouts coming from inside.
Victor tried to stay hidden so he wouldn't be found.
He wasn't afraid of the beasts or Orcs here, but if too many of them attacked at once, he might not be able to handle them.
Soon, Victor found the cave with the rhino symbol, the one the female Orc had told him about.
Just as he reached the cave entrance, he heard a crying sound from inside.
"I don't know if Ox King is in the cave. I'll have to use Illusion Eye!" Victor made a quick decision and activated his Illusion Eye, which could only be used once every 24 hours.
In an instant, Victor could see the entire structure of the cave.
Luckily, there was only Erica inside the cave at the moment. It looked like Ox King wasn't here.
But unfortunately, Erica was tied up with a huge chain.
If Victor wanted to cut it open, it would definitely make a lot of noise.
"Better go in first and find Erica, then think about the next step," Victor thought for a moment and decided to sneak into the cave.
After entering, Victor quickly found Erica, who was still crying, by remembering the location.
"Erica, it's me, Victor!" Victor spoke softly, unsure how well the cave was soundproofed.
"Victor!" Erica was surprised. "You really came!"
"Did Ox King do anything to you?" Victor moved closer, hugged Erica, and asked softly.
Erica buried her head in Victor's chest and whispered, "No, he said my skin is smooth and I must taste good. He's going to eat me tomorrow."
"Relax, I'll save you," Victor rubbed Erica's head and said softly.
"Ox King is already level 21," Erica whispered.
"Uh?" Victor froze for a moment.
He thought Ox King would be strong, but he didn't expect him to be level 21.
Level 21 meant Ox King had gone beyond the Primary Orc stage and reached the Mid-tier.
"Victor, don't act like that!" Erica sighed. "Aren't you going to bring that person behind you?"
Victor scratched his head and asked, "What do you mean by the person behind me?"
Erica whispered, "Do you think I'm stupid? There must be a Mid-tier Awakened person behind you."
"No, there isn't," Victor laughed, not understanding why she thought that.
"Really?" Erica was surprised and asked quickly, "Then how did you get that armor?"
Victor continued his previous lie. "I just found it by luck."
"Oh no!" Erica fell to the ground in despair, her face full of hopelessness.
She cried, "At first, I came to Twilight Mountain to get a birthday gift for my father. But I was worried I'd be in danger alone, so I wanted to bring someone to protect me."
She paused, looked at Victor and said, "Even though you're not strong, I thought you must have a Mid-tier Awakened person behind you. I thought he would protect you from the shadows."
Victor stood there, then sighed quietly.
He finally understood what Erica was thinking.
The little girl wanted to surprise her father, but she was too scared to go alone to Twilight Mountain.
She just happened to meet him, and based on the level of his armor, she thought he had a powerful backer.
So she asked him to go up the mountain with her...
It turned out to be a big misunderstanding. Victor didn't have any powerful backer at all.
"Level 21. If I fight my hardest, maybe I have a chance!" Victor thought to himself quietly.
"Victor, run! Go tell my father to save me!" Erica grabbed Victor's hand and begged.
"It's too late!" Victor shook his head and said seriously, "To leave the Twilight Forest, we have to wait until morning."
"What are we going to do?" Erica looked down, her voice shaking.
Thinking about being eaten by that twisted monster tomorrow made Erica feel like there was no hope left in her life.
"Let me try," Victor stood up and said seriously.
"Victor, you're only Level 5. Ox King is already Level 21!" Erica thought Victor was just trying to comfort her.
In fact, she didn't believe Victor could beat a Mid-tier Orc at all.
"Let me try. You don't have any other choice anyway," Victor looked at Erica and sounded a bit stubborn.
"You!" Erica looked at Victor's stubborn face and felt really touched, but she still said, "I don't need your help. Just go away!"
Victor shook his head and said seriously, "Tell me, how long until Ox King comes back?"
Erica knew she couldn't stop Victor, so she looked down and thought for a moment before saying, "From what he said, he went out on patrol. He should be back in about five minutes."
"Five minutes. That's enough for me to set up an ambush," Victor took a deep breath. That time was still okay.
"Victor, do you like me?" Erica suddenly asked, her voice very soft.
"What?" Victor was surprised and looked at Erica in confusion.
"You know you can't beat Ox King, but you still stayed here for me," Erica looked up, her bright eyes staring at Victor.
"So, do you like me?" Erica said slowly.
"Um..." Victor didn't know how to answer. After a while, he said, "I'll tell you after I survive."
With that, Victor turned around and started preparing to ambush Ox King.
Erica looked down and watched Victor walking away. She whispered quietly, "I think I like you."
Victor didn't let Erica's words ruin his focus. He fully concentrated on hiding.
Mid-tier Orcs were much stronger in every way. If he didn't hide well enough, he might be discovered.
Victor held his sword and quietly hid behind some broken rocks.
Soon, he heard footsteps from far away.
The footsteps were very loud, and when he listened on the ground, it felt like an earthquake.
"Ten steps... nine steps..." Victor held his breath and counted the distance Ox King was from him.
When there were only three steps left, Victor took a deep breath and used his skill-Holy Light Dragonbane Slash!
In an instant, golden light filled the air. A dragon broke out of the ground, and Victor charged out with it.
Victor didn't even get a clear look at Ox King's face before he swung his sword down!
