Chapter 12 - A Magic Trick of Tears, Like a Fountain

"But... you said before that the future can change...!"

"What if something changes the future's outcome...?"

Even though Doraemon had said such things, Doraemon was still a little uneasy, especially when he remembered how Lin Feng was so popular with his classmates.

And when talking with Shizuka, he seemed to be getting along very well.

If he didn't know that Lin Feng had just transferred today, Doraemon would have suspected that the two of them had known each other for a long time.

Otherwise, how could people who had just met on the first day be so familiar? It was simply a bit of a shock to Doraemon's understanding.

He knew that he and Shizuka had been classmates for several years, and they only had this kind of familiar relationship today.

But that transfer student, Lin Feng, was already so close with Shizuka on his first day.

To be honest, this put a huge amount of pressure and an invisible threat on Doraemon.

"Ugh... you're not wrong..."

Doraemon mumbled softly, a little helpless. Unfortunately, Doraemon's words were heard by Doraemon.

"Aaaah!!! I don't care!!! Doraemon! You have to help me this time...!"

"My future happiness depends entirely on you!"

If he hadn't heard Doraemon's words, Doraemon might have comforted himself, thinking that the future wouldn't change so easily.

But now that he heard even Doraemon from the future say that, Doraemon's psychological defenses crumbled instantly.

"Alright, alright, don't cry. What exactly do you want me to do?"

Doraemon couldn't stand Doraemon, who was always whining with tears in his eyes, shaking his head. His eyes would turn into little whirlpools.

"I don't care! You have to help me! Just take out some gadgets and teach that new transfer student a lesson! I want him to embarrass himself in front of Shizuka…!"

After all that, Doraemon finally revealed his ultimate goal: to borrow some prank gadgets from Doraemon to teach the new transfer student, Lin Feng, a lesson.

Who told him to get so close to Shizuka so quickly? For Doraemon, this was absolutely unacceptable.

"No way!"

"Doraemon, he's a new classmate who just transferred to your class. How can you use gadgets to play tricks on him on the first day?"

"I might be able to help you with other things, but I will never lend you gadgets to prank someone. Forget about it!"

Doraemon heard Doraemon's words and immediately crossed his arms, lifted his head, and pouted, refusing.

In a way, Doraemon was actually a very principled individual. He knew what he could and couldn't do.

Although his mission was to come from the twenty-second century to help Doraemon, improve his life, and correct his bad habits…

There were some things he could help with, and some things he couldn't.

Like now, from Doraemon's perspective, as a cat-shaped robot from the twenty-second century…

And with his Four-Dimensional Pocket, which could produce some amazing gadgets from the twenty-second century…

As the saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility. Possessing such power, Doraemon needed to be even stricter with himself and couldn't use these advanced future gadgets irresponsibly.

Otherwise, the world would definitely fall into chaos.

"Why is this happening…!"

"Doraemon, if you don't help me today, no one will! If this keeps up, Shizuka might become someone else's bride. What am I going to do…!!!"

Hearing Doraemon say he wouldn't help, Doraemon immediately transformed into a tear-spraying warrior, completely abandoning his Dorayaki and juice.

He lay on the floor beside Doraemon, hugging his short, stubby legs, his head resting on the tatami mat.

Tears flowed like a fountain from the corners of his eyes, making him look pitiful.

"Waaah… I'm so miserable… If this continues, I can only watch my happiness slip away right before my eyes, and I can't do anything… waaah…"

It must be said that Doraemon's skill in crying and whining had truly reached a masterful level after all these years.

Anyone who didn't live with him regularly would surely feel a sense of pity upon seeing him like this, because he looked so incredibly pathetic.

"Oh, Doraemon, you always do this whenever something happens. Honestly, can't you be a little stronger? You make things difficult for me."

Seeing Doraemon's tearful, heartbroken state, Doraemon softened a bit. He couldn't bear to see someone acting pitiful in front of him.

Although Doraemon had used this trick many times, to the point where it was practically worn out, it was undeniable that this trick was very effective on Doraemon.

"Alright, alright, get up first, stop crying. I'll help you figure something out…"

Seeing that Doraemon was still crying non-stop, refusing to get up unless he agreed, Doraemon finally had no choice but to compromise.

He couldn't help it; if he didn't agree to this kid, the floor would be soaked with his tears, and then he'd get scolded by his mom.

"Really? Doraemon, you're not lying to me, are you?"

"You really will help me think of a way, won't you!"

Doraemon's words were exactly what Doraemon was waiting for, so as soon as Doraemon said he would help, he immediately stopped crying.

Then he raised his head and stared intently at Doraemon with eyes full of hope, afraid he would go back on his word.

The whole action was completed in one go, without the slightest hesitation.

If anyone else was present, they would surely be somewhat surprised. Doraemon's ability to change his expression was simply too fast. Those tears were like the switch on a faucet, in a state that could be controlled at any time.

He could cry whenever he wanted, and stop whenever he wanted, just like magic.

It had to be said, if throwing tantrums and acting spoiled had levels, then Doraemon, even if he wasn't the strongest, was definitely a master.
