Chapter 28 - Insufficient Preparation

The main reason was that Nobita, after realizing he'd wrongly accused Lin Feng yesterday, wanted to find a way to make amends.

Although yesterday's plan failed, thanks to Gian's sudden appearance, Nobita still felt a little embarrassed.

Now that he had a chance to befriend a future great manga artist, Nobita certainly wouldn't let it slip away.

Especially after learning about Lin Feng's current circumstances and family situation, Nobita actually felt some sympathy for him.

"Okay, then, I'll be troubling you."

Lin Feng hadn't expected that with just a simple attack, he'd not only gotten Nobita to hand over his QWER keys, plus DF, but even his ultimate move.

However, if Nobita was willing to introduce Doraemon to Lin Feng, it was naturally a good thing that fell into his lap.

And with Nobita's invitation, Lin Feng could legitimately visit Nobita's home and interact with Doraemon. He could even bring a small gift.

Then, he could discuss borrowing some gadgets for a few days with Doraemon.

Tsk tsk tsk, activating the cheat, reaching the pinnacle of life, it didn't seem so far off...

"No problem, no problem! My parents and Doraemon are all very warm and hospitable people. When you go, Lin Feng, they'll definitely welcome you with open arms."

Perhaps fearing Lin Feng might change his mind, Nobita waved his arms and explained with a beaming smile.

Indeed, both Doraemon, Nobita's father Daisuke Nobi, and Nobita's mother Tamako Nobi, were very easygoing characters in the original story.

If they knew Nobita had invited the new classmate over, they'd think Nobita was becoming more popular and looking after his new classmate. They'd be extra warm and caring towards Lin Feng.

In this way, Nobita, caught in the middle, would not only be labeled by his parents as: "My son is growing up, knowing how to take care of his new classmate."

And with the new classmate, Nobita could also gain a good friendship.

This calculation was indeed very clever.

However, Lin Feng did have the intention of getting to know Doraemon, so even if he saw through Nobita's little scheme, he didn't plan to expose him.

This kid was rarely doing something genuinely good, so he might as well encourage him.

Shizuka, seeing Nobita and Lin Feng getting along so well, also showed a hint of a smile on her face.

Because during the time she had been in contact with Lin Feng, Shizuka had already considered Lin Feng a very good friend.

Whether it was from his personality or from the aspects they had interacted on, Lin Feng always brought a sense of security and comfort during their interactions.

His maturity and composure sometimes even gave Shizuka the illusion that the person standing before her was not a fifth-grader of the same age as herself, but a psychologically mature adult.

But regardless, this wouldn't stop them from becoming good friends.

Before Lin Feng transferred, the people Shizuka played with most often were Nobita, Gian, and Suneo.

So, as she accepted Lin Feng as a new classmate, Shizuka also hoped that her other friends would accept him too.

"Grrruuu..."

At that moment, an awkward sound came from Nobita.

"S...Sorry."

Nobita immediately looked embarrassed, covering his stomach with one hand and scratching the back of his head with the other.

"I didn't eat much at lunch, so..."

Speaking of being awkward, Nobita really takes the cake. It's a good thing he's a boy. If he were a girl, she probably wouldn't have any friends to play with, given how little regard she has for appearances.

"Now that you mention it, I'm actually feeling a bit hungry too."

"Nobita, why don't we head back? We've kept Lin Feng-san here for quite a while already, and it's a bit rude..."

Shizuka was clearly quite used to Nobita's impulsive personality, even somewhat unfazed by it.

So, when she heard the embarrassing sound of Nobita's stomach rumbling with hunger, she just covered her mouth and chuckled before speaking to help him out.

It has to be said, sometimes Shizuka's thoughtfulness is really comforting.

"Yep, yep."

Nobita also agreed. He was indeed quite hungry right now.

"Lin Feng, we'll head back now," Shizuka said.

"Drawing manga is your hobby, but don't push yourself too hard. Remember to rest, your health is the most important thing."

Shizuka knew very well that drawing manga wasn't simple. On the contrary, to create a great manga, one needed intense focus and concentration.

The more complex and exciting the scenes, the more time, sometimes several hours, it took to draw them.

Although Shizuka wanted to see the rest of the story soon, she didn't want Lin Feng to wear himself out.

"Yes, I will," Lin Feng replied with a smile, accepting Shizuka's concern.

He had originally wanted to ask Shizuka and the others to stay for dinner, but then he realized there wasn't much food in the fridge. Even if he wanted to show them some Chinese cuisine, he'd be stuck without ingredients.

This time, Lin Feng really hadn't prepared in advance. After all, Shizuka had only suddenly suggested visiting his home during the midday break.

Before that, Lin Feng hadn't actually thought anyone would visit his home so soon.

He could only say that they had come a bit hastily this time. When Lin Feng prepared the corresponding ingredients in advance and entertained Shizuka and the others at his home for a meal next time, there shouldn't be any problems.

After watching Shizuka and the others leave, Lin Feng went back to the kitchen and quickly made something to eat. Then, he sat back at his desk and started drawing seriously.

He was quite satisfied with the reactions Shizuka and Nobita showed after seeing his drawings today.

Although those two probably couldn't represent the entire social population, it was undeniable that Lin Feng's paintings, both in style and plot, were very engaging. They would become very interested in the subsequent plot after finishing the earlier chapters.
