Chapter 38 - The Nobi Family Dinner

Even though Nobita had mentioned to Doraemon before how great Lin Feng's work was, Doraemon didn't really have a clear idea.

Now that he had read it himself, Doraemon finally had a clearer understanding.

"I knew it, Doraemon. You'd definitely love Lin Feng's manga."

Nobita beamed after hearing Doraemon's praise.

Lin Feng smiled slightly. It seemed that everyone who read his work so far showed a desire to keep reading.

This proved that the plot of Demon Slayer was very captivating.

Next, he needed to finish drawing the remaining chapters and then contact a publisher to submit his work for publication as soon as possible.

Now that Lin Feng knew Doraemon's gadgets were all being checked, he gave up on trying to take a shortcut. It seemed he'd have to rely on himself.

Recalling the late nights he spent working on the manuscript in the past few days, Lin Feng couldn't help but let out a wry sigh. The road ahead was long…

The good news, however, was that Lin Feng's painting skills were improving, and his speed was getting faster compared to when he first started.

Honing his painting skills was a matter of practice, and with the system's help, Lin Feng's learning ability was also improving very quickly.

"Hey, Doraemon, do you think there are really demons that eat people in this world...?"

Perhaps thinking about the content Lin Feng had expressed in his last chapter, Nobita looked curious as he asked Doraemon.

"Impossible, Nobita. Have you been reading too many comics? You're almost hallucinating. How could such a thing exist in this world?"

Doraemon shook his head after hearing Nobita's words, looking at him as if he was a fool.

"Why wouldn't it be possible? Even the teachers at school have said that there are still many things in this world that modern science can't explain!"

Hearing Doraemon refute him, Nobita retorted, using the words of his school teachers to argue his point.

"Just because science can't explain it now doesn't mean future science won't be able to, Nobita. You still have a lot to learn."

Doraemon crossed his arms, pursed his lips, and looked at Nobita, as if he thought Nobita wasn't very knowledgeable.

"I don't care. Anyway, there are still many things that current science can't explain. Even if there are man-eating Demons, it wouldn't be surprising."

Nobita was also unwilling to back down. They were used to arguing with each other, and even a small thing could trigger a dispute between them.

Of course, this kind of argument was limited to the debate of the matter itself and wouldn't affect their feelings for each other.

Lin Feng, watching Doraemon and Nobita bicker, neither of them yielding, felt somewhat helpless.

It was really thanks to those two troublemakers living under the same roof. If they quarreled like this every day, it would be a real headache.

Fortunately, neither Doraemon nor Nobita were the type to completely lose themselves in an argument. After bickering for a while, they realized that today was different.

They had guests today. If they continued to argue pointlessly, it wouldn't be very appropriate.

"I'm home!"

Just then, a grown man's voice came from downstairs again.

"Honey, you're home! You must be tired!"

With the sound of Nobita's mother, Tamako Nobi, it was confirmed that the person who had returned was Nobita's father, Daisuke Nobi.

Now, the Nobi Family was all together.

"Nobita! Doraemon! Dad's home! Come on down and join the new classmate for dinner!"

"Yes!"

"Lin Feng, my dad's back. Let's go downstairs and get ready for dinner."

Nobita went to the top of the stairs and answered his mother, Tamako Nobi. Then, he turned to Lin Feng with a smile.

"Okay."

Lin Feng smiled and nodded before following Nobita and Doraemon downstairs.

Lin Feng knew Daisuke Nobi, Nobita's father, from the original story.

He was a nice office worker, very gentle and tolerant towards his family. Whenever he and Nobita's mother, Tamako Nobi, had an argument, he would usually admit his mistake.

It was true that his fondness for drinking sometimes disrupted family harmony. Coming home reeking of alcohol and causing a scene in the middle of the night was a real headache.

He also seemed to have no problem spending money on things he liked, even if it meant going over budget to buy a golf set.

This was probably one of the reasons why Daisuke Nobi and Tamako Nobi often argued.

However, generally speaking, Daisuke Nobi was a pretty good father figure. When he was home on his days off, he would help Nobita build up his willpower by taking him out to play baseball and such.

Lin Feng came downstairs to the dining room with Doraemon and Nobita, and he saw the slightly overweight middle-aged man.

"This must be the new transfer student Nobita was talking about, the one who's visiting! Hello there! Welcome to our home!"

Daisuke Nobi had probably just changed into his house clothes and was adjusting them now. When he saw Lin Feng enter the dining room with Doraemon and Nobita, he smiled and greeted him.

"Thank you, Uncle."

Lin Feng smiled back at Daisuke Nobi, who greeted him with a smile.

Just like in the original story, Nobita's father, Daisuke Nobi, was a very warm and hospitable person. Spending time with someone like that made you feel comfortable and relaxed.

After sitting at the dinner table for a while, Tamako Nobi began bringing out the prepared dishes one by one. Her cooking skills were quite good; the table was filled with food that looked, smelled, and tasted delicious.

It was clear that Tamako Nobi had put in a lot of effort to make Lin Feng, the new classmate, feel welcome.

"I heard that Lin Feng transferred from China, so I tried to imitate some home-style dishes from there. I hope they suit your taste," Tamako Nobi said with a smile to Lin Feng, after finishing up in the kitchen and sitting down at the table next to Daisuke Nobi.
