Chapter 61 - Bearer of the World

Pov: Ieuan

Different men clash at the forefront. Men's blood formed puddles in the wasteland mud, and different men roar, letting out war cries.

Chugging down the last drops of the liquor, I threw it to the ground. Whipping it off my lips, I let out a laugh.

"Finally!" I let out my arms.

As I walked forward, the ground shook, and marks where I had just walked were left. The ground cracked, leaving a small crater. When someone finally dared to attack me, the intense pressure around me increased, and they fell to their knees. Glancing down, his eyes find it hard to meet mine.

Under increased pressure, the soldier finally faints.

"Pathetic." I spat on the man.

Glancing around, I see Lune getting pushed back. They were falling to the military of Sol. Soldiers who wore black with red and gold lining were outnumbering my troops.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see a man coming in, trying to kick me from behind. As my eyes turned towards him, I grabbed his foot and threw him into the crowd of people killing each other.

"Is this really what the world turned to?" I questioned.

Another man with standing the pressure lunched himself at me. The tip of the blade lunged at me, aiming for my face. Moving out of the way, the soldier turned the blade and tried to slash me with it. When it comes into contact with my skin, it doesn't have much effect.

"Tch, you're going to need more strength than that if you want to cut me."

Grabbing the blade, I crushed it, leaving it shattered on the floor. The man stared at me, stunned. As I walked closer to him, I reeled my fist and jammed it into his guts. The man instantly fainted from the force of the punch.

Looking around, I stared around me, "Is there no one strong here?" I frowned upon saying this. "Well, this is disappointing. I don't even sense anyone beyond the 4th rank. To think the Sol Kingdom really thought they could win like this. How boring." I let out a sigh upon saying these last few words.

I looked around once more before taking my sword from behind me, whose length was almost as tall as I was. I swung it around, creating strong winds on the battlefield. The crowd around me started to clear up as different men flew away from it.

When the men started to take notice of me, their faces had a look of despair on them. "Run!" A soldier screamed. "It's Ieuan... It's the Bearer of the World!" Other men turned upon hearing this.

When the sword reached the top, ready to be swung, a purple mist started to make its way up it, and a crater started to form around me. Not like the ones before when I walked onto the battlefield, but a crater that shook the world itself.

'Let's see how much stronger I've gotten,' I thought.

The pressure builds up, and I see different men trying to run away from me. When I finally reach the point where I cannot hold the sword anymore, I brought down the sword as the clouds in the sky opened, where the path of my sword followed. When it reaches the ground, it splits as well. 100 soldiers fell in an instant.

"Well, that was weaker than I thought."

I looked around, seeing nothing around me as the creator blocked the view of the battlefield. All I could do was hear it, and it seemed as if the battlefield fell silent.

"Well, time to go finish off the last few." I started to walk, making my way out of the crater, but when I did, I took notice of something. A plane flew above me. Looking up, a few soldiers seemed to jump out of it. They wore the star of Numen.

'Oh! Is the fun finally going to begin?"

Staring a bit more, I focus my senses on them. They didn't seem strong, but they were much stronger than many of the men on the battlefield.

"I guess I am going to be able to try some of my new abilities." Plunging my sword into the ground, I watched them fall.

When they landed on the ground, a man tried to welcome them, but was cut off as one of them instantly dashed towards me, making his way behind me to strike me. He held a dagger in his right hand, which seemed to shimmer. He was enhancing it with pure numen. Blocking his attack with my forearm, I pushed him back. When I did, I clicked my tongue.

"Hey, has no one ever told you it's not nice to cut off a man when they are speaking?" Turning around to the other, a shot rang from behind. The shot does virtually nothing.

My eyes fall upon the soldier, and I use my hand to wipe away the dust from the shot. "As for you, if you are going to attack someone, do it with some dignity." They stood above the crater watching me.

Before I could relax, another charged at me with a sword rather than a dagger. He brought his sword from under me, and growing irritated, I brought my fist down, smashing him to the floor.

"Everyone relax!" I let out.

Everyone seemed to pause for a moment.

"Thank you." I looked at the other who were still standing. There were about four of them left, five with the one I just knocked unconscious.

"I am not against fighting right now, but I need to test some things out, so I will make a promise."

They hold their gaze, "What is it?" One of them rang. It was the man who held the dagger.

"I will let you take one free shot at me, but after that, you have to promise not to run from the fight."

The man who responded seemed irritated by the promise. "Don't mess with us."

"No, no, I am serious," I replied. "I'll even only use one hand after this if you want me to."

The other looked at him, looking unsure. "I will swear on my family name."

"You have to be crazy." He stared at me for a moment. "Fine," the man seemed to want to laugh, grabbing his face. "It's your funeral." He turned to look at the sniper behind him. "You know what to do."

The sniper hummed as if it were charging. Waiting for the shot, the humming got louder.

"Come on, I don't have all day—"

Just as the humming stopped getting louder, a loud bang was let out, and the shot drove right at me.
