Chapter 5 - Handsome

[Nicole's POV ]

The hallway way was buzzing, students spilling out of classrooms and flooding towards their lockers. Laura tugged me along, mischievous as always.

"I mean, if you don't talk to him soon, I might just have to do it for you." She teased, her arm still looped in mine.

I shot her a warning look. "Don't you dare"

But before she could laugh again, I caught sight of Micheal. Standing at his locker and few step ahead with a senior I think his name was Jake. They were talking. His dark hair, fell forwards a little and little strands of hair pointing in different positions, and for some reason my heart did a little flip.

Laura noticed instantly. "Ohhh", she whispered under her breath "look who it is"

I stiffened "shhh"

Oh, how I regret not paying attention but listening to Laura because in the next moment I bumped into someone, without looking up I new exactly who it was, I may or may not have remembered the clothes and shoes he wore because that's what I saw in front of me.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Michael said and I internally scolded myself for letting him apologise first when I was the one that bumped into him.

"No, I'm sorry, I wasn't looking ahead and I bumped into you, sorry." Looking up- wow he was tall, like I had to tilt my head a good inch to finally see him face to face.

And let's just say again my stomach did a little flip, just by the sight of him.

One word, he was pretty, and not the femboy type of pretty but the pretty kind that got girls squealing and still qualify to be called Handsome.

He's eyes- warm, steady, a shade of brown that seemed softer up close. But underneath that warmth was something quiet. Like a shadow, a sadness he didn't quite try to hide but didn't want anyone to notice either. It lingered there just beneath the brown, like a story he wasn't ready to tell.

"Earth to Nicole " Laura voice snapped me out of my thoughts noticing I was staring. I blinked, realising I'd been staring? Again!!. Well I couldn't blame myself, it was Micheal's fault, the feelings his eyes portrayed made me curious and maybe also how fine he is.

"Hmm, Yeah" I answered as heat flooded my cheeks

Micheal gave the faintest smile, amused by my flustered reaction.

"So, Micheal, right? You're new here? " Laura didn't waste a second.

Micheal's nodded "Yeah, First week."

"And you already found a sidekick," she teased nodding to the guy beside him which his name wasn't jake but Jay since 'that's what everyone calls him.'

The guy next to Micheal- Jay, grinned. "Sidekick? Please. I'm the main character, he's lucky I let him stay next to me.

Micheal's shook his head clearly amused, and said, "He's been saying that since second period. "

Laura grinned, clearly delighted, "Well I'm Laura" she said and tugged me closer "and this is Nicole, if you need any help, don't hesitate to ask, especially to Nicole, she's nicer than me"

Laura!!!, Jesus, who does that

"That's not true" I mumbled.

Jay leaned forward, he's grin widening. "Nicole, huh? Don't let her fool you- quiet ones are always the dangerous ones."

Laura practically snorted. "You're going to love it here, Micheal.

I managed a small smile, Thats Laura for you. She could talk and become friends with anyone, while I wasn't an introvert I was not socially active person like Laura.

My gaze flicked back to Micheal and like me he wasn't saying much but looking at how Laura and Jay spoke to each other like they've been friends for years. This is what happens when the two extroverts meet- a little bit overwhelming, I would say.

When he caught me looking, he raised an eyebrow slightly, a smile tugging at his mouth. I looked away but couldn't help smiling too.
