Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Secrets in the Night.

Celine sank deeper into the soft sheets of her own room, the dim moonlight spilling through the curtains. She had almost drifted into sleep when something made her ears twitch—faint, but unmistakable.

A voice… Adrian's.

Her eyes snapped open. "Adrian…?" she whispered to herself, heart pounding. She listened closely, trying to make sense of the words, but they were muffled, as if coming from somewhere beyond her door.

Her eyes widened as she tried to make sense of what she was hearing.

"I see you've gotten used to having a human girl around," said the other voice, calm but edged with caution.

"You forget she's not allowed," the voice continued, firm.

Adrian's reply came, steady yet conflicted. "I know… but I can't be away from her. I love her too much."

Celine's heart skipped a beat. She hugged her pillow tighter, unsure whether to call out or stay silent, the weight of Adrian's words sinking into her mind.

Celine sank deeper into the sheets, heart racing as the mysterious voice spoke again, clearer this time:

"It doesn't matter that you love her… but it's forbidden. You must leave her at once."

Adrian's reply was tense, full of emotion yet unwavering. "I know… but I can't be away from her. I really love her.

Celine's hands trembled around her pillow. She stayed frozen, The weight of the words hung heavily in the room, filling her with a mix of fear and curiosity.

The mysterious voice's warning had barely faded when Adrian's tone shifted, sharp and filled with intensity.

"Leave my house… I don't want to hurt you," he growled, his words carrying both anger and protectiveness.

Celine's heart skipped a beat. She stayed frozen on the bed. After a while,

Celine sank deeper into her blankets, her breathing slow and even. Soon, sleep claimed her completely, carrying her into a vivid dream world

She found herself standing alone in a misty forest. Shadows twisted and shifted around her, forming shapes that seemed alive. A chill ran down her spine, yet there was something mesmerizing about the silence that enveloped her.

Then, a voice broke through, soft yet commanding, echoing as if from everywhere and nowhere:

"The man you love… he is not ordinary. Danger follows him, and by being near him, you walk a path full of shadows and unseen threats."

Celine's heart skipped a beat. She turned, trying to see the source, but there was no one—only the ethereal mist and the distant outlines of towering trees. The voice was calm but held an undeniable authority that made her tremble.

"Not ordinary… what do you mean?" she whispered aloud, her voice trembling. But no answer came. The words lingered, echoing through the dreamscape, leaving her with a strange mixture of awe and fear.

Instinctively, she placed her hands over her chest, feeling the echo of the message deep inside her. Something about Adrian had always felt different, but now the realization struck her like a bolt of lightning. There was more to him than she had ever imagined—something powerful, mysterious, and potentially dangerous.

The shadows seemed to lean closer, as if they were watching, waiting. Celine's breathing quickened, her mind racing with questions she couldn't yet answer. The voice had vanished, leaving only the lingering sense of foreboding, and the night seemed heavier, charged with secrets and silent threats that were far from revealed.

Celine's eyes fluttered open in her sleep, her heartbeat echoing loudly in her chest. She lay still, unsure if she had really heard the voice or if it had been a dream. One thing was certain—her world, and her feelings for Adrian, were no longer simple. Something extraordinary, and dangerous, was unfolding, and she sensed that nothing would ever be the same again.

Celine jolted awake, her body tense and her heart racing. The remnants of the dream clung to her mind like mist, leaving her feeling exposed and uneasy. She pulled the blanket closer around her, shivering despite the warmth of the room.

Questions flooded her mind, each one heavier than the last. What did that voice mean? Why is Adrian… not ordinary? What danger is he in, or is it me who is at risk?

She stared at the ceiling, her thoughts spinning in circles, yet no answers came. The silence of her room felt heavier now, almost suffocating, as though the shadows of her dream had followed her into the waking world.

Her fingers instinctively touched her chest, and a pang of uncertainty shot through her. Everything about Adrian, everything she thought she knew, now felt layered with mystery and danger.

For a long moment, she simply lay there, wide-eyed and trembling, unable to shake the chilling realization that her life—and her heart—was about to change forever.

Celine could not fall back asleep. The words of the mysterious voice and the vivid images of her dream kept replaying in her mind. Her chest tightened with a mixture of fear and curiosity, and every sound in her room seemed amplified in the stillness of the night.

She reached for her phone, her fingers trembling slightly, and began scrolling absent mindedly through messages and social media, trying to distract herself. Hours passed, yet sleep refused to return. The glow of the screen illuminated her worried face, casting long shadows across her room.

By the time morning came , Celine was busy with her phone. Celine's eyes were heavy, but she had no choice but to face the new day. She put down her phone and took a deep breath, hoping that perhaps the answers she thought might come—but deep down, she knew that something extraordinary was unfolding, and nothing would ever be the same again.

At 9:30 a.m, Celine slowly got out of bed, still feeling the weight of the restless night pressing on her mind. She made her bed and got ready to take a shower ready to start her day.

After taking a shower, she took the simple dress she had brought from home and put it on. She then moved quietly, careful not to wake anyone else—though in truth, there was no one else in the house, except her and Adrian.

As she reached the living room, she froze. Adrian was already there, sitting comfortably on the sofa, eyes glued to the TV. The morning sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow over him, but the sight startled her.

"Good morning," Adrian said casually, without turning to look at her, his voice calm and even.

Celine's heart skipped a beat. She hadn't expected him to be awake so early. She paused at the doorway, unsure whether to approach him or retreat back to the safety of her room.

Adrian finally turned, giving her a small, reassuring smile. "Didn't think I'd see you up this early," he said. "Coffee? Or… do you just want to sit and wake up slowly?"

Celine hesitated, her mind still tangled with questions from the night before. But seeing him there, calm and seemingly ordinary, made her feel a strange mixture of relief and confusion.

Adrian turned slightly, giving Celine a warm smile. "Breakfast is ready," he said casually, gesturing toward the kitchen.

Celine blinked, a little surprised. "Already? I… I wasn't expecting that so early," she murmured, her voice still hushed from sleep.

Adrian chuckled softly. "I wanted to make sure you start your day right. Come on, it's just something simple, but I thought you'd like it."

Celine walked over, still a little cautious, and noticed the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and something warm on the table. For a moment, she forgot about the strange dream from the night before.

"Thank you," she said softly, her eyes meeting his. "You didn't have to…"

"Nothing to worry Celine, he said softly".

Celine smiled faintly, feeling a small sense of comfort in the simple morning routine, even as questions about Adrian's mysterious nature lingered at the back of her mind.

Adrian took a sip of his coffee, then looked at Celine with a small, teasing smile. "I bought you some clothes," he said casually. "After you finish breakfast, go get ready. We're going for a walk."

Celine blinked, a little surprised. "Clothes? For me?" she asked, trying to hide a small smile.

"Yes," Adrian replied, his eyes twinkling. "I thought you might like a change—something comfortable for the walk. Nothing fancy, just something nice for the day."

Celine nodded, a warm feeling spreading through her chest. She finished her breakfast quickly, her mind buzzing with curiosity about what kind of clothes he had chosen for her. Once done, she excused herself and headed to her room to change, wondering what the morning walk would bring.

Upto this moment Celine didn't mention any word about the strange dream she had. The clock read 10:00 am—a rare quiet time in the city, giving the morning an almost magical stillness.

Adrian stayed in the living room, waiting her quietly from the sofa. As she re-emerged, perfectly dressed, his eyes widened slightly, and he felt a rush of admiration.

Celine looked radiant, the clothes fitting her perfectly, reflecting her natural grace. Her hair fell softly over her shoulders, and her gentle smile made the morning light seem even warmer. Adrian was struck silent, his usual composure slipping for a moment.

"You… look so beautiful," he finally managed, his voice tinged with awe. "I… wow…"

Celine blushed slightly, a small smile playing on her lips. "Thank you," she murmured softly, unaware of the storm of admiration brewing in Adrian's mind.

The moment was brief but intense, charged with a silent electricity that neither of them fully understood yet. Adrian quickly gathered himself, remembering their plan. "Shall we?" he asked, gesturing toward the door.

Celine nodded, her heart skipping a beat. She felt a strange mix of excitement and nervousness as they stepped out into the quiet morning, ready for their walk.

The city still quiet and bathed in soft sunlight. They walked side by side, the gentle breeze brushing against their faces, carrying the fresh scent of blooming flowers from nearby gardens.

The streets gradually gave way to a small park, a hidden oasis amidst the urban sprawl. Birds chirped faintly, and the sound of rustling leaves added a calming rhythm to their steps. The morning felt peaceful, almost magical, as if the world had slowed down just for them.

Adrian glanced at Celine, a soft smile tugging at his lips. "It's nice, isn't it?" he asked, nodding toward the park.

Celine took a deep breath, savoring the fresh air. "It's beautiful… and so peaceful," she replied, her eyes scanning the greenery around them. "I didn't realize a place like this existed so close."

They continued walking slowly, their steps in sync, enjoying the simple stillness of the morning. For a while, no words were needed—just the quiet comfort of each other's presence, the gentle warmth of the sun, and the soft whisper of the wind through the trees.

Celine slowed her pace, glancing at Adrian with a slightly hesitant expression. "Adrian… there's something I want to ask you," she said softly, her fingers lightly brushing against the strap of her bag.

Adrian turned toward her, his eyebrows raised slightly in curiosity. "Sure," he replied, his voice calm but attentive. "What is it?"

Celine hesitated for a moment, then finally asked, "Adrian… who are you, really?" Her voice was soft, but there was a seriousness in her tone that made Adrian pause.

Adrian's eyes widened slightly, and he straightened up, momentarily caught off guard. "Why… why are you asking me that?" he said, his voice a mix of surprise and caution.

Celine looked at him earnestly. "I just… I feel like there's more to you than what I see. I need to know," she admitted, her hands tightening slightly around her bag strap.

Adrian took a deep breath, trying to regain his composure. He gave her a small, reassuring smile. "Alright," he said finally, his voice calm but firm. "I am Adrian. That's who I am."

Celine blinked, expecting more, but Adrian remained silent for a moment, his gaze steady on hers.

Celine frowned, her curiosity and unease mingling. "Adrian… last night, who were you talking to? I thought I heard someone else in the room with you," she asked cautiously, her voice barely above a whisper.

Adrian stiffened, a flash of surprise crossing his features. He quickly shook his head. "No… there was no any one," he said, his tone firm but gentle. "Maybe… maybe I was just talking in my sleep. Or… maybe I was dreaming."

Celine tilted her head, not entirely convinced, but she decided to let it slide for now. "Dreaming… huh?" she murmured, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Alright… if you say so."

Adrian gave her a small, reassuring smile, placing a hand lightly on her shoulder. "Trust me, Celine. Nothing unusual happened. Just a dream, that's all."

Celine nodded, though a small part of her mind remained restless, wondering what had really happened in the quiet hours of the night.

After a peaceful walk through the park, enjoying the gentle breeze and the soft sounds of nature, Celine and Adrian began heading back home. The streets were quiet, and the afternoon sun cast long shadows along the sidewalks.

Celine walked beside Adrian, her thoughts still lingering on the little mysteries she sensed about him, though she tried to focus on the present moment. Adrian, sensing her quiet observation, gave her a gentle smile.

By the time they reached his house, Celine felt a mixture of gratitude and curiosity. "Thanks for today," she said softly, glancing up at him. "It was… really nice."

Adrian nodded, opening the door for her. "I'm glad you enjoyed it," he replied warmly. "Let's get inside and relax. You must be tired from all that walking."

Celine stepped in, feeling the familiar comfort of the home, and slowly let herself unwind, the sunlight fading outside as they settled back indoors.
