Chapter 120Sonia's POV

By the time the car rolled through the palace gates, my blood was still boiling.

Twenty-four hours. That's how long I'd known Xavier, and he'd already managed to annoy me more than my mum on a nagging day and my ex-boyfriend on his worst day combined.

He parked the car like it was just another errand, his hands steady on the wheel. Meanwhile, my wrists were sore from the ropes he'd tied me with, and my patience was hanging by a thread.

The second he killed the engine, I snapped.

"Take these ropes off me. Now."

He didn't move immediately. Instead, he gave me that calm, infuriating look—as if I was a little kid kicking and screaming in a supermarket aisle. 

"What are you doing just staring at me?. Get this off me". I yelled and he just smirked.

Finally, with maddening slowness, he leaned over and loosened the knots.

The ropes fell into my lap. I rubbed my wrists and glared. "You're unbelievable."
