Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Going Shooting

After hanging up the phone, Andy angrily threw the phone onto the sofa, "Fatty, if you don't satisfy me tonight, I'll show you how I'm going to deal with you!"

He lazily curled up on the sofa, teasing the two little Dobermans lying on the sofa with his left hand, and constantly pressing the remote control with his right hand to change channels, looking for his favorite TV shows.

Joseph came over with a glass of ice water in his hand. Seeing Andy's bored look, he smiled and asked, "Boss, if you're bored, why don't you go out for a walk?"

"Huh? Where can we go on such a hot day?" Looking at the scorching sun outside, Andy couldn't muster any interest at all. He pouted his lips and asked, his otaku nature showing no hope.

Joseph shook his head speechlessly and laughed. His lazy appearance formed a sharp contrast with the violent workout. Then an idea flashed in his mind, "Boss, why don't we go to the shooting club and play with guns!"

"Pop!" Andy's eyes lit up. He threw the remote control away and stood up from the sofa excitedly. "What a great idea! Why didn't I think of it?"

For Andy, who grew up in a country where guns are banned, shooting still holds a huge allure. His dream would be to buy a few guns and go hunting in his grandfather's forest farm in a few months. The thought of himself hunting in the woods with an AK in hand, a Desert Eagle on his hip—well, two Desert Eagles on his hips, and two Dobermans on his leash... The image is so beautiful I dare not think about it any further.

"I'll go tell Kenny to prepare the car. By the way, boss, have you ever played with a gun before?" Joseph's words pulled Andy out of his fantasy.

"Ahem, sorry, I've never been exposed to this before. I'm a complete newbie." Andy said somewhat embarrassedly.

"Okay, then I understand. Shooting is very simple. With your qualifications, you should be able to master it after a little explanation." Joseph said with a comforting smile.

He quickly rushed into the cloakroom, changed into a white T-shirt, a pair of distressed white jeans with holes, and sneakers, took out a pair of brown Prada sunglasses from the drawer and put them on, then rushed into the bathroom, wet his hands and scratched his hair. His current hairstyle was completely cut in the style of Bieber in later generations.

Looking at his reflection in the mirror, he curled up the corners of his mouth and said narcissistically, "So damn handsome!"

After saying something to Liu Yan, he couldn't wait to walk out of the house and got into the Bentley that had been waiting for him.

The car slowly drove out of the villa. The five or six paparazzi who were waiting at the door did not surround it to take pictures. Instead, they started their cars and followed the Bentley closely.

The paparazzi were still cursing, "Damn it, this guy finally walked out of the house!"

In the Bentley, Andy excitedly kept asking Joseph and Kenny about gun knowledge and shooting techniques. Some of his silly questions made them laugh and cry. He could only tell them that they could choose any gun they liked in the club for live-fire shooting and asked them not to worry.

"I want a Magnum revolver, and a Desert Eagle. Oh, yes, a carbine and an AK47..." Kenny saw his boss dancing with excitement in the rearview mirror, and rolled his eyes when he heard the names of the guns he mentioned.

"Ahem... Boss, don't get excited. This is your first time handling firearms, so you need to start from the basics. The Magnum and Desert Eagle are powerful and have strong recoil, so it's a bit difficult for beginners to master them..." Joseph, who was sitting in the passenger seat, turned around and introduced to Andy with a wry smile.

"Oh, so that's it. Okay, okay, let's start with the basics. By the way, Joseph, can I buy a few guns?" Andy felt a little depressed, but immediately continued to ask.

"Hehe, boss, you need to apply to buy a gun in California, and it takes 10 days to respond. You can't buy a second gun within 30 days.

"So, if you want to buy a few guns, it'll take time," Joseph explained with a chuckle. Seeing Andy's slightly skeptical look, he continued, "Besides, California has banned the sale of assault-style firearms since 2001, including the AK47. The application is very simple. You can fill it out at the club you're going to. I'll then find someone I know and have you own your first gun today."

"Haha, thank you, Joseph, this is cool, isn't it? That will be my first gun. I want to buy a Magnum revolver. Its appearance is so domineering!" Andy said excitedly, thinking of the domineering big gun in the hands of Hit-Girl Lolita in his previous life.

Joseph and Kenny couldn't help but glance at each other, seeing a hint of helplessness in each other's eyes, and shook their heads and laughed. Andy now had no wisdom and reserve of a genius writer and billionaire, just like a child about to get a new toy.

The Oak Club is located in Santa Clarita, Los Angeles. It is also the shooting club with the most comprehensive outdoor shooting ranges in Los Angeles. The main reason for choosing this club is that the firearms here are relatively complete, which is very attractive for novices.

When the Bentley stopped in front of the Oak Club, Joseph quickly got out to help Andy open the door. After getting out of the car, Andy observed the environment of the club. How should I put it, it was empty and seemed a bit desolate.

Because of Andy's sharp senses, he could occasionally hear gunshots coming from the club.

At this time, a strong man with a full beard walked out of the club hall. He was about forty years old and looked like a retired soldier from the way he walked. He was about ten steps away from Andy and the others. He laughed and said, "Joseph, damn it, you haven't come to see me for several months!"

Joseph smiled, stepped forward, high-fived the man, and said, "Haha, you have a new job! Come, let me introduce you. This is my boss, Andy Smith, the talented writer! Boss, this is Hansen, the director of the Oak Club."

"Hello, Andy, very nice to meet you. It seems that your book is selling well. Joseph's commission is not cheap! Welcome to the Oak Club." Hansen stretched out his hand and shook hands with Andy, jokingly.

"Haha, thank you, nice to meet you." Andy replied with a smile.

"Boss, let's go in. It's a bit hot outside. By the way, Hansen, this is the first time my boss has touched a gun. Don't hide those nice guns of yours!" Joseph said to Andy and Hansen when he saw Kenny park the car and walk over.

"Haha, no problem, as long as it's a gun here, you can play with it as you like." Hansen laughed and patted Joseph's shoulder and said proudly.

"No need to go through so much trouble. I'm a newbie, so I'd better start from the basics." Andy declined. He was not shameless enough to let a newbie like him ruin other people's collection of guns.

"Haha, boss, you don't have to be polite with Hansen. He and I are brothers." Joseph seemed to know Andy's thoughts and said with a smile.

"Yes, we are brothers!" After Hansen said this, he and Joseph looked at each other and smiled. They were obviously a pair of good friends with a story.

As they were talking, Kenny also caught up, and the four of them came to a hall filled with various guns.

It's dazzling, with pistols of various calibers displayed in the display cabinets and long guns produced in various countries hanging on the walls, from rifles to sniper rifles, everything is available.

Hansen smiled and introduced the calibers and origins of various firearms to Andy, while handing him real guns so that he could feel the touch and weight of the guns. Although some of the guns looked old, Andy still couldn't let go of them and fondled each one.

The other three people smiled at each other when they saw Andy couldn't let go of the gun. They looked the same when they touched the gun for the first time.

Next, with Joseph's help, Andy filled out a gun purchase application and used a credit card to buy a Magnum revolver. After getting the gun, Andy kept holding it in his hand and stroking the domineering gun body back and forth, grinning obsessively from time to time.

It wasn't until Hansen brought them into his office and saw the fine guns inside that they came to their senses.

Seeing Andy picking out more than a dozen different types of long and short guns like a child seeing his favorite toys, Hansen's mouth twitched unnaturally. With the help of the staff, he took the guns selected by Andy and several boxes of bullets to the shooting range.

After placing more than a dozen guns on a long table, Hansen picked up a pistol and began to disassemble it quickly. He then began to explain to Andy the basic knowledge and precautions of various firearms in a very serious manner.

"Huh..." After patiently listening to the introduction and precautions, Andy slowly reached out and picked up a Beretta 92F with a silver-white gun body.

"Boss, this is a Beretta 92F pistol developed by the Italian Beretta company in 1985. It fires 9mm Mibara Bellum bullets. It is 217mm long, weighs 0.96kg when empty, has an initial velocity of 333.7m/s, and an effective range of 50m. It is the most famous pistol in the world." Joseph introduced while instructing Andy on how to use it.

"Boss, this is your first time learning shooting. I suggest you choose a target position of 15 meters at the beginning." Joseph suggested while correcting Andy's gun-holding posture.

"Okay, let's go now. I can't wait!" Andy raised his gun and took a shooting posture. Under Joseph's correction, he spoke very standardly and eagerly.

Joseph smiled, picked up several magazines that had been pressed on the table by the staff, and took Andy to an iron human-shaped target. When they were fifteen meters away from the target, Andy took the magazine, inserted it into the magazine, loaded the bullet, turned on the safety, and held the pistol in the standard posture he had mastered, with the muzzle facing down and waiting.

"Huh..." Andy calmly glanced at Joseph beside him. The latter gave him an encouraging look, holding the pistol firmly with both hands and pointing it at the target fifteen meters away.

The aiming point of a pistol is based on the ballistic characteristics of the projectile. The bullet moves in a parabolic trajectory after leaving the barrel, and the Beretta in Andy's hand is a fine work of art with high shooting precision. In addition, the precise shooting distance of a pistol is ten to fifteen meters, so basically you can shoot wherever you point.

These information appeared clearly in Andy's mind. These were all what Joseph had just said. After narrowing his eyes slightly, Andy decisively pulled the trigger.

"Bang! Clang..." The crisp sound of gunfire and the sound of hitting the iron target rang out. Joseph on the side nodded with satisfaction. Although his boss was a novice, his speed of mastering the skills was still surprising.
