Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 "Goodbye, Kakavasa"

The screen switched to a new scene, as if entering Aventurine's Memory, or perhaps another Phantom had appeared.

Dark clouds gathered in the sky above, and large raindrops poured down, as if the entire world was enveloped in a misty rain.

Young Aventurine stood in the middle of the wilderness, letting the rain relentlessly beat down on his frail body. His clothes were already soaked, clinging tightly to his skin, making him feel a chill.

Standing before him was a girl with long, golden hair. She was also drenched, covered in dirty mud, and her once clear face was now blurred, with only the rain continuously washing over her face, occasionally revealing a hint of paleness.

"We have to part ways here, Kakavasha. The Katikans are coming," the girl said firmly, but her eyes revealed endless sorrow and helplessness.

Upon hearing this, tears immediately welled up in Kakavasha's eyes, and he choked out, "Why? The Katikans have already taken all our money and food, and killed Mom and Dad... What else do they want?"

Facing Kakavasha's questioning, the girl gritted her teeth and resolutely replied, "The Katikans are bloodthirsty, cruel, and insatiable. They want everything, so they will get nothing."

"Welt: The Company created this tragedy... Alas."

"March 7th: It's truly too tragic."

"Huangquan: Alas... The world is never short of tragedies."

"Botio: But some tragedies could have been completely avoided, all because of that unloved Company!"

"This is a Trick, an act of revenge. Remember? Today is 'Kakava' Day, and it's also your birthday."

"They know the Evians will hold a ceremony today. Using this rain, they will come to destroy our caravans and take everything they want."

"But the Katikans don't know that this time we will resist, and the men in black from the sky are on our side. The Katikans have no chance against them and will surely pay the price for their arrogance."

"Without this rain, the Katikans wouldn't act, and we wouldn't have a chance to maneuver. This is all a gift from the Mother Goddess, and you are 'Kakavasha'; your good fortune will bless Old Woman's success."

Kakavasha's lips trembled slightly as he mumbled, "But... but someone will die, and you'll be in danger too... How is this good fortune?! Why are you doing this...?"

"March 7th: But, haven't all the Evians except Aventurine already died? Shouldn't the Company be protecting them...?"

"Welt: This is the cruelty of reality. The Company's only goal is profit, and they don't pay much attention to the Evians, even Aventurine only survived by luck. In the face of profit, life often seems insignificant."

"Bailu: This is so unfair! Those Evians are also life, and they also have the right to be protected."

The girl looked at him with determined eyes and slowly said, "Evians always avenge. The Mother Goddess is calling me, Mom and Dad are waiting for me, I must respond. But she has given you good fortune, for you to live."

"As long as you are alive, the blood of the Evians will never run dry. So run, Kakavasha, don't be afraid, don't look back. Go to the other side of the mountain. The rain will stay with you, the rain will bless you."

"And we will reunite under the aurora of the next 'Kakava'..."

After speaking, the girl gently reached out her hand and tightly clasped Kakavasha's tender little hand, while devoutly praying:

"'May the Mother Goddess close her eyes for you thrice.....'"

"'May your bloodline always pulsate....'"

"'May your journey always be smooth...'"

"'May the Trick never be exposed.'"

"Goodbye, Kakavasha."

The scene returned to darkness, leaving only the sound of the Interstellar Broadcast once again echoing from the viewing.

"Interstellar Peace Broadcast Breaking News: The Company's Market Trailblaze Department spokesperson confirmed a small-scale rebellion in the unowned star sector of Tzigania, and the situation is currently under effective control—"

"A clan named 'Katika' has long harbored dissatisfaction with the Company, causing a serious negative impact on the Market Trailblaze Department's work in the area—"

"'This clan launched a large-scale attack on the 'Evians' clan, which was under Company protection, resulting in 6,728 death and 3,452 missing. The injured have been received by the medical aid organization 'Trauma Front.'"

"Qingque: Alas... I always feel like this news is the biggest blow!"

"Botio: They indulged the Katikans in massacring the Evians, and then used the excuse of 'executing justice' to massacre the Katikans. Oh, for the love of! Oswaldo Schneider, you have another crime added to your list. This must have been at your instruction, I know you're watching, just wait, sooner or later I'll shoot you dead!"

"Bronya: Is this... how the Company operates? Inciting rebellion, leading to the demise of a 'protected' tribe... What exactly did you protect?"

(On Jarilo-VI, Bronya, who was exploring the lower levels with the Astral Express crew, showed disappointment and confusion in her eyes. She had originally thought that the Company, as an organization that also believed in the Amber Lord, would protect those in need, but now she saw their cruel side. She couldn't help but begin to question the meaning and value of the Company's existence.)

"The spokesperson expressed deep condolences for this 'profound humanitarian disaster,' and also delivered an important speech to all interstellar citizens regarding this matter—"

"Finally, he stated: The mighty hammer of Preservation will surely fall upon all life, regardless of death, race, or thought, to defend our inherent fundamental rights."

The screen lit up again, and Aventurine was waking from his illusory dream. He looked blankly behind him, where someone should have been, but now there was no one. Unconsciously, he softly called out, "Kakavasha."

All around was silent, with only occasional thunder echoing in his ears, breaking the death-like stillness. The sound reverberated in the air but received no response. Aventurine silently withdrew his gaze, slowly turned around, and looked at the empty corridor behind him, a relieved smile gradually appearing on his face.

"Goodbye..." he whispered, as if bidding farewell to a non-existent person, or perhaps to his own past.

Then, he took a deep breath, straightened his body, and walked with determined steps towards the curtain in front of him.

After standing still, Aventurine took a deep breath and said loudly, "Alright—the actors are in place, the show is about to begin."

Then, he paused slightly, and his tone became even gentler: "This performance is dedicated to you, I hope it leaves you with unforgettable Memories..."

"Kakavasha."
