Chapter 68 - Ch-67 Huh?

The morning sun hit Kyojiro like a soft candle—warm, enticing, homely. All the experiences of prison were buried deep within him… and for the first time in years, his expression actually lightened as he allowed himself to rest a little longer.

No longer was he consumed by a raging desire to train. For once, he wanted to simply let the world flow around him.Yet what he didn't expect was someone barging into his home at dawn.

Jiraiya's hearty laughter echoed through the house." Kyojiro, you fool… how long do you plan on sleeping?"He grabbed Kyojiro by the scruff of his neck with ease.

His lack of weight and reduced strength made it far too effortless for the Sannin.

" C'mon now! It's Minato's coronation day. Your friend—and my disciple—is about to become the Fourth Hokage today!" Jiraiya wore a grin so wide it almost radiated its own light.

Just the fact that it was his disciple becoming Hokage brought a pure, unfiltered joy to his face. Unlike in the canon, where he carried a lingering sadness over Orochimaru, this time Jiraiya's heart had hardened. The moment he heard that Orochimaru had abandoned Kyojiro on the battlefield, an anger had bloomed deep within him.

Since then, neither of them had spoken much… nor had they met.

Kyojiro nodded slowly at Jiraiya.Of course I remember, sensei. It took the Uchiha nearly twenty minutes before he was fully dressed in an orange haori—utterly different from the Uchiha clothing he once wore.

Jiraiya raised an eyebrow.Since when did he start wearing orange? But he shook the thought away." C'mon now… did you bring any gifts for Minato?"

Kyojiro shook his head helplessly, still awkwardly dangling in the air while Jiraiya moved across Konoha like a shadow.

...

The sun had already climbed high into the sky. A massive crowd had gathered at the heart of Konoha, where a wide platform of deep mahogany wood stood like a majestic throne.

At the center stood Hiruzen and the advisors. The crowd buzzed with a thousand reactions—battle-hardened shinobi smiled quietly, while women and children screamed with excitement.

After all, the Yellow Flash wasn't just a monster on the battlefield. In terms of looks, he was easily one of the most handsome men in Konoha.

Huge banners painted with his face hung proudly over the rooftops. Many in the crowd had even dyed their hair blond for the day.

It wasn't simply a coronation—it was a festival for the Leaf.

Minato stood high on the platform, a bright smile lighting up his entire face. He raised his hand, and the crowd roared louder than before.

Beside him stood Kushina, smiling gently at her boyfriend—the man who had dreamed of becoming Hokage since the academy. And though she couldn't fulfill her own dream, seeing him standing where he'd always aimed brought a warm, radiant smile to her face." Go, Minato… achieve your dream," she whispered softly, her voice trembling with pride.

Minato nodded and stepped forward between Hiruzen and the advisors.

Hiruzen's proud expression softened his otherwise gruff, aged voice." First of all," he began, loud enough for the entire village to hear, " let me make it official for all citizens of the Leaf—" his voice grew stronger, " the Third Great Shinobi War is over."

With that, his speech flowed into motion. He spoke of each clan's accomplishments, the painful losses Konoha had endured, and the contributions that carried them to victory. He spoke of new treaties, expanding trade, and an era of prosperity rising from the ashes of conflict.

Hiruzen painted a future that glimmered with promise.

By the end of his speech, his tone shifted." However… I am far too old to lead anymore. I have carried this great nation through two shinobi wars. Now, it is time to pass the torch to someone younger."

He turned toward Minato—whose face carried hope, humility, and unwavering resolve." Someone who not only understands all of you… but is strong and wise enough to protect Konoha."

Guiding Minato forward, Hiruzen declared," People of the Leaf—behold your Fourth Hokage!"His voice boomed across the village." Minato Namikaze!"

The world seemed to erupt. The entire crowd burst into cheers—shouts of love, screams of joy. Some jumped up and down in pure excitement. Children sat on their parents' shoulders, eyes wide with awe at the spectacle.

And Kyojiro… stood quietly at the sidelines, a serene smile resting on his face.

Though he hadn't been present for the past few years, he couldn't help but feel joy at seeing his friend achieve his dream.Don't worry, Minato… my true gift isn't material. It lies in the promise that I will make sure your fate changes.

His jaw tightened. A firm urge rose inside him, pushing him forward. It all has to start… and it has to start today.

...

For Minato, the day had been the most joyful and the most exhausting day of his life.He sat in the Hokage's seat as though he were sitting upon a throne of gold; his blue eyes—bright like the morning sky—still shimmered even under the night sky filtering through his office window.

So much happened today… I became Hokage, The Third himself taught me the basics… I received all the gifts…A soft smile tugged at his lips. And Kushina must be waiting at home. Ten more minutes and I'll head back.

He settled deeper into his chair, looking over the pile of documents before him.

But his night was not going to end the way he imagined.

" Minato… or should I say, Lord Fourth."A calm, gentle voice echoed across the room.

Minato looked up—Only to see the mischievous smile of his Uchiha friend.

" Kyojiro… what brings you here?"A smile immediately rose on Minato's face.

But Kyojiro's next words crushed that happiness in an instant.

" Minato, I will be leaving the Leaf Village."
