Hours Later:
The bell rang once again, marking the end of the second lesson. Mrs. Huxley calmly dropped the piece of chalk on the desk Infront of her. She then raised her head to face the students.
"Alright, class, that's it for today. I hope everything we covered makes sense?. If you have any questions or if something isn't entirely clear, please don't hesitate to ask right away" she said as swept her gaze across the class, but no one stood up to ask any questions. "Alright take your time, when you're ready you can meet me during office hours I will attend to your questions. So just make sure to review your notes and go over the key points we discussed. And, um...don't forget your assignment is due next week, so it's a good idea to start early. Alright? Have a great day, and I'll see you next class." Mrs. Huxley said.
"Thank you ma'am!" The students responded. Mrs Huxley smiled and picked up her lesson not and exited the classroom.
The classroom soon became noisy as usual. Jennifer quickly faced her new desk mate. "My name Jenifer and you welcome to be my desk mate, so if you need anything, feel free to ask me" Jenifer said excitedly and Vivian nodded in response.
Soon, Mr. Benjamin, the math teacher, walked into the classroom, and everywhere became quiet. Everyone could tell that he wasn't in a good mood at all. Meanwhile, it's usually hard to tell whether he's in a good or bad mood, as his facial expression always appears irritated by default."
Class complement!" the class president Sam Dawson stood up and said.
All the students followed suit and greeted in unison.
"Good morning sir!!!!"
Mr. Benjamin's eyes darted all around the classroom ensuring that all his students were in other.
"Why are you all becoming worse every day? None of you could even solve the simple homework I gave before the long vacation. If not for Jovan, who got all his answers correctly, it would have looked as if I'm not teaching you guys anything at all!" His voice rose across the classroom. He shifted his gaze to the side. "Even you Sam, you disappointed me this time."
The class president, Sam, lowered his head. He was the only person ever compared to Jovan in terms of academic performance, but he was still far from being able to compete with him.
Mr Benjamin walked towards the board and began to set a few questions. Once he was done, he turned back towards the students. "Most of you failed this two particular question... Jovan come and show them how to solve this" Mr Benjamin said while looking over the stark of students assessment books on his table.
Jovan who was being called was lost in his thoughts, and he couldn't stop staring at Vivian. "who was sitting in the second row, right by his side. The moment in the store kept resurfacing in his mind.
"This becoming too much, Why do I keep thinking about her? It's almost causing me sleepless nights. Could it be that I have… fa? Ugh!." His eyes widened for a moment. "No way. Maybe I ate something bad. Or maybe she charmed me with those eyes. Yeah, that's it. A spell?...Nah! That doesn't make sense either. but why am I always grinning like an idiot just thinking about her?... I'm doomed." Jovan thought to himself and lowered his head down on his desk.
"Jovan!!!... Jovan!!!" Mr. Benjamin's loud voice resounded in the classroom. Jason quickly nudged Jovan by the side, jolting him out of his thoughts, Only then did he realize there was a math question on the board, and Mr. Benjamin had been calling him to come and solve it. Jovan quickly stood up from his seat.
"I'm sorry sir" he apologized
"Jovan, what is wrong with you today? Of all the people in this classroom, I never expected you to be the one messing around this time. What are you even thinking about that's more important than my lesson!?"
After yelling at Jovan for about 20 minutes Mr. Benjamin finally calmed down and and solved the questions himself. Then, he gave them another Home work, warning that he would punish anyone who failed any of the questions. Few minutes later, the lesson was finally over.
"Where is the new student." Mr. Benjamin suddenly asked.
Vivian calmly stood up from her seat.
"What is your name" Mr Benjamin asked with raised brows.
"My name is Vivian Blake" Vivian answered.
"Oh... Vivian, after the lesson try and borrow the maths past questions papers from your classmates. Make sure you study them properly so you can catch up with others." He said and adjusted his glasses.
"Yes sir" Vivian said and sat down
"And"... Mr Benjamin said and paused as he swept his gaze across the classroom.
"Don't mess around with this unserious people. Better focus on your studies and be a good student." Mr Benjamin said while glaring at everyone in the class. and with that he finally walked out of the class.
"As if" Jerry snared at him. "What a crazy physchon."
"What's wrong with you, why dazing out all of a sudden." Jason asked.
"Nothing really, I was just thinking of what to eat during lunch." Jovan casually said
"Seriously?, anyways you are lucky because you are his favorite student, if not he would have chewed you up." Jason said with an amused smile.
"Hi Vivian, my name is Jennifer, and you are welcome to be my seatmate. If you need anything just let me know." Jennifer said happily.
"Okay thank you" Vivian said.
A book suddenly entered her view, Vivian turned and saw a girl presenting a book to her.
"Hey Vivian! I'm Rachel. Here is my biology note book for last term, since you're new here It might help you catch up. Rachel said while presenting the note book Infront of her.
Jennifer frown. "She doesn't need your notes, Rachel. I'm her desk mate, I can help her if she needs anything, beside when did you become this good?."
"What's wrong with you Jenifer, I was only trying to be friends."
"Tsk"... Jennifer clicked her tongue dissatisfaction. "it doesn't seem like it though."
Vivian smiled at Jennifer as she gently raised her hand and took the note from Claire. "Thanks, I will return it once I'm done.
"Would you like to have lunch together?" Rachel asked. Vivian nodded at her in response.
Rachel smiled..."Good, Once it time for lunch I will come and find you" she replied before making her way back to her seat. Jennifer glared at her with Annoyance written all over her futures. Not long, some female students rushed towards Vivian, and within a few seconds her seat was surrounded.
"Hi Vivian my name is Claire" the first girl at the right side said.
"I'm Sarah, you are so beautiful, can we be friends" the second girl in the middle said.
"Vivian why don't you join us for lunch" a short girl standing by her left side said with a wide smile on her face.
Lisa who was seating with Sophia and Angela rolled her eyes at the sight of those girls running around the new student. " boot lickers" she said in disdain.
Jennifer was pissed, non of them wanted to be her friend or seatmate, now she finally got one and their are here to take her away just like that. "She suddenly stood up and grabbed Vivian by the arm. "let's go"
Vivian raised a questioning eyebrows. "Where are we going?." She asked and stood up from her seat.
