Chapter 93 - Chapter 93

A few minutes later, the two took the elevator down.

Where the driver waited patiently, and when she saw them approaching, she immediately stepped out of the car to open the car door.

After the car started, it drove smoothly through the streets toward Flash Animation.

Less than half an hour later, it stopped in front of the studio's main building.

Just as Yukinoshita Yukino was about to get out, Akira Fujimiya reached out and gently held her hand.

Yukino turned slightly, her beautiful blue eyes meeting his.

When she saw the soft smile on Akira's face, she understood what he meant.

So, after a small pause, the second daughter of the Yukinoshita family leaned forward and gave Akira a quick, shy kiss on the cheek.

The female driver in the front seat stole a glance in the rearview mirror before quickly averting her eyes, pretending not to see.

Akira released Yukino's hand, and she stepped out of the car, her cheeks faintly pink.

He watched her walk into the Flash Animation building before turning to the driver.

"Please take me to Future Comics Publishing House next," Akira said.

"You are Miss Yukinoshita's boyfriend and a member of the Yukinoshita family," the driver replied calmly. "I can take you wherever you wish to go."

"Can you drive a motorcycle?" Akira asked suddenly.

"...Yes, I have several years of experience," she said after a short pause.

"Good. Then after dropping me off at the publishing house, please return to Yukino's apartment. There are a few motorcycles in the underground parking lot. I want to learn how to ride them later," Akira said with a faint smile.

"Yes, Master Fujimiya." The driver started the engine again.

.....

At Future Comics Publishing House,

The moment Akira stepped out of the car, Tamura Nanako who was waiting quickly spotted him. Her face lit up, and she hurried over to greet him.

"Fujimiya-semsei, you look very handsome today! I've already spoken with Editor Sato, and she agrees that this image suits you perfectly. The makeup artist is ready, and the company plans to make you the first mangaka to appear in such a visual style!"

Akira smiled slightly and handed her a neatly folded sheet of paper.

"These are the questions selected from fan letters. I've categorized them into groups. There are fifty in total. Starting next issue, I'll number them directly—this should improve the engagement with fans."

"Understood." Nanako accepted the paper with a nod.

They walked together into the building.

.....

Inside, Editor-in-Chief Yumiko Sato had already arranged a private room for recording.

When the makeup artist saw Akira, she blinked in surprise. "I usually do makeup for idols, but you—when I saw you, I honestly thought you were one too."

Akira chuckled.

"Thank you, but I have no plans to become an idol for now."

The makeup artist laughed and quickly got to work.

Once finished, Nanako began filming according to Akira's planned structure and script.

The process went smoothly—neither of them made any mistakes.

The first video, featuring twenty random fan questions, would be posted on Akira's personal channel on Monday, and later shared on the publisher's official account.

It was the first time Future Comics Publishing House had attempted something like this.

Editor Sato approved the idea mainly for two reasons: Akira's project, Non Non Biyori, was extremely popular—and Yukinoshita Haruno had silently encouraged the experiment.

After filming wrapped up, Sato Yumiko invited Akira into her office.

"Fujimiya-sensei, you really are a genius. I can't believe you thought of this approach!"

"This is just an experiment," Akira replied calmly. "It doesn't cost much to try. If it succeeds, we can scale the idea—use the official Future Comics account to host small variety-style shows with different mangaka. It'll help them gain visibility and fan support."

Sato's eyes widened. Could that really work?

.....

Top mangaka can make enormous income just through fame alone. But most average-level artists struggle—they draw tirelessly, sometimes even taking part-time jobs to survive.

Despite having talent and modest recognition, they lack the exposure to grow.

That in Akira view, was a wasted opportunity—not just for creators, but also for publishers.

Future Comics had hundreds of thousands of followers on its official page, yet no one actively managed it. They only reposted updates or cover art.

If the publisher produced engaging videos or interviews featuring their artists, readers would connect with them directly.

It would bring in more fans, promote titles, and raise the brand's overall value.

Sato Yumiko listened quietly, her fingers tapping the desk.

Akira's words sounded simple, but the concept was transformative.

The only issue—Future Comics' current president.

He had inherited the position and never dared change anything. Even the weekly magazine's cover layout hadn't evolved in years.

"Fujimiya-sensei," Sato said with a sigh, "I'll have to discuss this with the president. He's not comfortable with new ideas. If you have noticed Future Comics Weekly has looked the same for decades because of it"

Akira nodded, unbothered. "That's fine. If the current president doesn't understand, perhaps the next one will."

"The next… president?" Sato blinked, realizing what he implied.

She knew the Yukinoshita family held significant shares in the publishing house. Combined with their recent acquisition of Flash Animation...

If they gained control of Future Comics as well, they could freely adapt best-selling manga into anime—dominating the entire industry.

"Editor Sato," Akira said, his tone calm but firm, "the name Future Comics should mean looking forward—not clinging to the past."

Sato smiled faintly. "I agree completely, but I don't have that kind of power."

"Which side are you on?" Akira asked.

She hesitated, then answered truthfully. "I love this company. I want to see it improve."

Akira nodded, satisfied, and stood up.

Sato watched him leave.

She had a few guesses about his intentions but chose not to voice them.

Both of them were too intelligent to say such things aloud prematurely.

.....

Leaving the publishing house,

Akira sat in the Yukinoshita family car and pulled out his phone.

He searched information about the company's current president—an inherited leader, resistant to innovation, clinging to tradition.

In this era, if you don't move forward, you inevitably fall behind.

Akira already had a strategy to change things, though he knew it might only be possible if control shifted to the Yukinoshita family.

He sighed quietly. If that moment ever came, it would already be late—others were likely to act first.

Indeed, in his previous world, similar experiments were already proving successful elsewhere.

After some thought, he typed an email to Yukinoshita Haruno, outlining his proposal and insights.

At present, she was the only one capable of making this idea a reality.

If she could push through an acquisition or a reform, it would send shockwaves across the manga industry.

.....

Meanwhile, at the Yukinoshita Construction Company,

Haruno sat in her elegant office, listening to her assistant's report about a new development project.

This deal wasn't particularly profitable short-term, but upon completion, the Yukinoshita family would hold shares in the venture. Haruno had personally secured it through negotiation, earning praise from her mother.

A sudden "ping" interrupted the report—an incoming email.

Haruno frowned, planning to ignore it—until she saw the sender's name.

"Akira Fujimiya."

Her lips curved into a subtle smile as she opened it. The message was short but bold. As she read, her expression grew more focused, the playfulness fading from her face.

It was a daring, ambitious idea—but if it succeeded, the reward could be extraordinary.

"Investigate something for me," Haruno said to her assistant.

"What should I check, ma'am?"

Haruno pointed to the screen. "Everything related to this."

The assistant walked closer, scanning the proposal.

After a few seconds, her brows rose slightly. "This… is related to Future Comics?"

"Yes," Haruno said. "Also, find out who currently holds the company's shares. I want a full report by lunch."

"Understood, ma'am." The assistant bowed and left.

Haruno leaned back in her chair, re-reading the email once more.

If they couldn't acquire the publisher, they could build a new one from scratch. Money could attract mangaka; talent followed opportunity.

She smiled faintly to herself. "If we can't buy it, we'll create something better."

With the right implementation, Akira's vision could transform the entire creative industry—and Haruno wanted to be the first to make it happen.

.....

Later that day, Akira returned to Yukinoshita Yukino's apartment.

In the underground parking lot, he noticed several high-end cars and sleek new motorcycles gleaming under the lights.

"These were birthday gifts from the head of the family and Miss Haruno to Miss Yukino," the driver explained.

Akira raised an eyebrow.

Just by looking, he could tell how expensive they were.

He chuckled softly.

What could I possibly give her for her next birthday?

He quickly shook off the thought.

That wasn't important right now.

He hadn't forgotten his goal—to learn new skills and strengthen himself, there would be time for that later.

For now, Akira Fujimiya simply smiled, feeling that quiet sense of purpose that came whenever Yukinoshita Yukino's name crossed his mind.
