Half an hour later—
Downstairs of Flash Animation Production Company.
Hikigaya Komachi looked at the building in front of her.
She thought it would be a small company, but she didn't expect…
"This is my girlfriend's family company. I need to take care of some things here first," Akira said.
"Fujimiya nii-san's girlfriend… is really amazing," Komachi said, opening her mouth in surprise.
"She's extremely capable and can even help me make money," Akira said as he walked into the building.
"…" Komachi hesitated, feeling that Fujimiya nii-san might be… a little too charming.
(Note: Please no....)
However, as soon as she entered Flash Animation, she understood Akira's position here.
Almost everyone who saw him stopped, saluted, and respectfully called him, "Young Master Akira."
Akira remained calm. When he reached the elevator, he pressed the button for the third studio.
Komachi watched Akira's back, realizing he wasn't at all what she had imagined.
When the elevator stopped at the third studio floor, Akira and Komachi stepped out.
Yumiko Miura was not on this floor; she had gone to see Ebina Hina.
As soon as they entered the third studio, they first saw Hina Ebina focused on a screen.
Akira paused for a moment and looked at Komachi.
"Wait here for me. Don't come over," he said.
"Huh… okay," Komachi said, stunned for a moment, and stayed put.
Akira quietly approached Hina Ebina from behind. Everyone around saw the scene but dared not interrupt.
On the screen was a highly...inappropriate scene, and Akira frowned as he saw that.
He placed a hand gently on Ebina's shoulder.
"Ebina-san, it's work time now."
"Akira-kun, you're just in time! I got an inspiration. Do you want to see it?" Ebina said, smiling and unfazed by him.
"No. Let the animation screenwriter look at it," Akira said decisively.
"What I write is serious. The less serious stuff is recorded elsewhere," Ebina adjusted her glasses.
"I hope you won't be distracted," Akira said, placing his hand on hers and closing the webpage.
"Fujimiya-kun…" Ebina looked a little resentful.
"How was Yumiko's audition?" Akira asked, releasing her hand.
"I don't know either. Yumiko said it went smoothly, so I'm collecting materials here," Ebina said, checking the time.
Akira didn't ask further and prepared to leave. Ebina stood up and followed him.
As the two approached Komachi.
Before Akira could introduce her, Ebina looked at her with a strange expression.
Before she could say anything—
"This is Hikigaya Hachiman's sister," Akira said with a helpless sigh.
"Fujimiya-kun, aren't you friends with Hikigaya-san? Why would you bring her here?" Ebina asked, even more surprised.
"…" Akira and Komachi exchanged glances.
...
Flash Animation had its own recording studio.
Whether it was for voice actors or singers performing songs, all recording could be done here.
Whenever a new animation began production, voice actors would be selected for auditions.
For Madoka Magica's, they had even invited some of the industry's most well-known voice actors.
Although the director of Madoka Magica wasn't Niino Haruto, he was indeed the dubbing director. Even the top voice actors had to follow his instructions.
Several voice actor agencies often collaborated with Flash Animation, sending many actors for dubbing.
Though Madoka Magica wasn't recording today, the auditions continued as scheduled.
Since the novel Niino's wife had written was in production, voice actor auditions naturally followed.
When Akira, Komachi, and Hina arrived on the floor, they saw several young voice actors waiting in the corridor.
A staff member saw Akira and quickly saluted.
"Young Master Akira."
"Is Director Niino here?" Akira asked.
"Yes, Director Niino is screening voice actors. Those who came are from well-known agencies," the staff member replied.
"Take me to see," Akira said, curious about the auditions.
"Yes, please follow me," the staff said respectfully.
They arrived at another room. The staff knocked, and someone opened the door.
Inside, Niino, who was listening to the voice actor's dubbing, frowned and looked up at the door.
When he saw Akira, his face lit up, and he gestured to pause the dubbing.
"Fujimiya-kun, are you here to help pick the voice actors or to do the dubbing yourself?" Niino Haruto asked with a smile.
"Let me watch. Let Director Niino handle the selections," Akira said, shaking his head.
"I'd like your advice, Akira-kun. I want this animation to be perfect," Niino said seriously.
"Okay, I'll listen," Akira said, understanding what Niino Haruto wanted.
After all, it was his wife's novel, and Niino wanted the production to be flawless.
While, Komachi and Ebina sat aside, watching Akira in the recording studio.
Akira looked at the script in front of him.
"Which scene do you think best demonstrates the compatibility of the voice actors?" Niino Haruto whispered.
"A fireworks display," Akira said thoughtfully.
"Understood," Niino said, assigning the task.
The voice actors had already read the script, so once Arata finished speaking, the dubbing began.
The fireworks scene reflected the hero and heroine's psychological states.
Fireworks interrupted the heroine's confession, and the hero responded with a clumsy, heartfelt confession.
It was the sweetest scene in the animation.
Niino signaled the voice actors, and dubbing began.
Akira closed his eyes, listening.
The female voice actor showed professional skill, and the male actor matched her level.
However, the emotional tone didn't align with the characters in Akira's mind.
Seeing this, Niino Haruto signaled the actors to try again.
These actors were talented but it couldn't convey the intended emotions.
Komachi and Ebina were impressed by the voice actors' abilities. Komachi found the work intriguing, and Ebina focused her attention on Akira.
The audition went quickly.
Within an hour, all voice actors had dubbed the fireworks scene.
Akira shook his head at most pairings. Only three combinations matched his vision, and he gave them equal scores.
Haruto Niino listened to the three pairs again and admired Akira's precision. Even a skilled director could not choose as accurately with his eyes closed.
"Thank you, Fujimiya-kun. I'll select the male and female leads from these three pairs. If possible, please attend auditions more often. Your judgment is incredible," Arata said gratefully.
"If possible, I think we should have our own voice actor agency," Akira said, watching the actors leave.
"I had one before, but it was sold. Since then, I've collaborated with agencies," Niino Haruto said wryly.
"I'll ask Ms. Sada to keep an eye out. If any agency is for sale, we'll buy it," Akira said, sighing.
Niino Haruto supported the idea but, being a supervisor, said little and went to announce the audition results.
Akira led the two girls to a separate recording studio for music.
He knocked on the door.
A professional-looking woman opened it and stepped aside.
Inside, Yumiko Miura was recording a song.
Everyone in the room stood up at the sight of Akira. He waved, signaling them to sit.
They exchanged glances and took their seats.
Yumiko Miura smiled brightly and waved at Akira.
Akira returned the smile and sat beside the music director.
"How was her audition?" he asked.
"Ms. Miura's audition was perfect. She has idol-level singing talent. It feels like a waste to limit her to anime songs," the director said seriously.
Akira nodded silently and listened to Miura sing.
Ebina Hina observed Miura, recalling what she knew of her talent before Akira arrived. Now seeing her in person, she felt a tinge of envy.
Yumiko Miura was probably not far from becoming an idol.
The room fell silent as the song ended.
The director stood and gestured.
