Chapter 41 - Chapter 40:First Hunt

The rival gang came like a flood—dozens of men with chains, bats, and machetes, screaming curses as they surged forward. Their greed was louder than their fear.

Luv walked into their charge as if wading into a storm. His black eyes gleamed under the neon, cold and merciless. Ayu flowed beside him, her twin blades flashing in the darkness like liquid silver.

The first thug swung a chain at Luv's head. Luv caught it mid-swing, yanked the man forward, and drove his fist into his chest. A crack echoed, the man collapsing without a scream.

Another rushed with a machete. Luv sidestepped and broke his jaw with an elbow, then turned the body into a shield as more knives slashed.

Beside him, Ayu was a blur. Her blade arced through the air, slicing a chain in half before carving across its wielder's arm. Blood sprayed across her white skin, but she didn't flinch. She danced between enemies, cutting them open with surgical precision, her eyes sharp and unblinking.

The crowd watching roared in shock and horror. These weren't just two fighters—they were predators.

One man tried to grab Ayu from behind. She stabbed backward without looking, her blade piercing his thigh. Before he could scream, she twisted, pulling the blade free, and slit his throat in one smooth motion.

"Pathetic," she hissed.

Luv moved like a beast unleashed. A bat cracked against his shoulder, but he didn't falter. He grabbed the attacker by the hair and smashed his head into a wall until it was nothing but red paste. His expression never changed—calm, cold, detached.

The remaining gang members hesitated. Their bravado cracked as they saw their comrades fall like wheat under a scythe. Fear replaced hunger.

"W-We can take them!" one shouted, but his voice shook.

Luv's voice cut through the chaos, low and venomous:

"You already lost."

Then he surged forward.

⚔️

The battle became a massacre.

Ayu and Luv fought back-to-back, bodies falling around them like broken dolls. Every strike was brutal, efficient, merciless. Where Luv was raw power, Ayu was sharp grace. Together, they weren't just surviving—they were hunting.

When silence finally settled, the ground was painted red. Groans echoed from the few survivors crawling away.

Luv wiped the blood from his hands, breathing steady. Ayu licked crimson from her lip, her eyes shining with the thrill of battle. She turned to him, smiling faintly.

"First hunt complete."

Luv nodded. His voice was low, final:

"And many more to come."

⚔️

The watching gangs in the shadows whispered with dread. The wolves weren't challengers. They were executioners.

The city had new predators—and they were only just beginning to feed.
