Queen Juliana, after some thought went to Erica's room. She needed to also talk to her daughter. Once she entered the room, she saw her sitting on the bed and reading a certain book. Erica upon seeing her mother hastly closed her book and gave her mom a wary look. The queen smiled and said
" Hey don't give me that look. Am I going to kill you? I knocked earlier but you didn't answer so I had to come in myself "
Erica stared at her for some few seconds before saying
" OK mom, what brings you here "
The queen raised her eyebrows questionably and said
" huh, do I need a reason to visit my own daughter?"
Erica sighed and said
" I never said that " Then she continued
" have a seat "
The queen obediently went and sat beside her on the bed. She was long inure to her daughter's cold and distant behaviour but as a mother, her heart still ached badly. She was never too close to Erica, it always seemed that Erica pushed her away when she came near her but it wasn't her fault. Afterall she had been a bad mother. She asked warmly
" What were you reading "
Erica said nonchalantly
" Nothing just some stuffs on spells "
The queen nodded and continued
" How was your stay in the human world "
" Well cool " then she thought
" Just that most of them are idiots "
The queen didn't know what to say again. Erica's answers were short, not giving a room for further conversation. There was a sudden awkward silence between them. The queen then remembered the " Dinkin " and asked
" Erica, I hope you remember the "Dinkin" you sent to your sisters. "
" Yeah what about that "
The queen said
" Who gave it to you and how did you get it "
Erica answered
" Don't know, I found it in front of my door one morning. Being familiar with that wine I instinctively knew that it was from Elarion. I gave it a quick check up but found nothing unusual with it. Then poured mine and passed the rest to my sisters "
The queen felt momentarily lost. If it wasn't the king, then who sent the "Dinkin ". The elders too didn't send anyone to deliver "Dinkin " to the three princesses. She knew that the king was the only one who harboured ill intentions towards Abigail.
Years back, King Xavier and his wife queen Juliana, married happily and ruled the kingdom of Elarion together in harmony. They both loved each other so much. Queen Juliana became pregnant after some years and some months later, she gave birth to a girl. But few months later, the king died. The kingdom mourned for a whole month over the death of thier benevolent king. Thereafter, the council pressured the queen to get a new husband. she loved her late husband to the extent that she didn't want to remarry. But it was a law I. The Elarion kingdom that a king nor queen do not rule a kingdom alone. It is thier belief that partners help in decision making. The pressure from the council became unbearable for her until one day when the kind Tylor, offered to marry her. Well Tylor was the younger brother of the late king and he had always been good to her and she technically liked him. She married Tylor as a way to escape the council's pressure. Since she was already a queen before marrying Tylor, she had much power than him. Later she gave birth for him and gave birth for another child for him. She trusted Tylor until she accidentally overheard him polluting the young Erica's mind about her elder sister and saying all sort of inhumane words. She had become extremely furious that day and warned him not to try that again. And that was when he realised that, Tylor never really loved Abigail and wanted the throne for his child. But both children were also hers and she didn't like the thought of her children fighting over a mere throne. For her, the best wins and gets what she truly deserves. She then became wary of the king expecially when it came to Abigail.....
The queen stared at Erica for some few seconds and nodded saying
" Okay....., but Erica I hope you know the matter at hand. Abigail is no where to be found and Chloe vehemently disagree with the thought of becoming a queen therefore you are the only available candidate. I hope you are ready to take upon this journey?"
Erica replied trying to protest with an indifferent face
" But what about Abigai mom, she is still not found, won't she find this as a betrayal towards her. Afterall she is the rightful hieress to the throne. "
The queen intuitively frowned, Abigail is mostly likely to win the throne but it was never announced that she was the rightful heiress. She slightly cleared her throat and asked
" Erica, who told you that Abigail is the rightful hieress to the throne? You all are, you can all be the queen "
Erica slightly scoffed
" No one needs to tell me this. It is clearly obvious that she is going to be the next queen. I even thought that you guys were going to wait for her arrival then you choose her to become your next queen "
The queen frowned harder and said
" What the hell are you thinking Erica. Who said such stupid things into your head. "
Erica smiled sadly and said
" I'm sorry your majesty, I won't provoke you again. I hope you won't mind excusing me, I have to take my bathe her royal majesty. "
The queen smiled at Erica's boldness. This girl was directly but politely asking the mighty queen to leave. That was one thing that made Erica exceptional. She was fearless and it was almost impossible to find her weakness.
Queen Juliana stood up and said authoritatively
" Prepare yourself Erica, for you are going to be the next queen "
Erica stubbornly asked
" What of Abigail "
The queen answered with assurance in her voice
" She would be found and she shall be ok. Trust me on this "
