Chapter 6 - The monster of the blue phoenixes.

The human didn't sit idle as they hit back hard with equal force as cannons rose out of the ships and aimed at the logs. Except for the mother ship the rest started attacking without delay.

The elves returned with a squad of ship shooters that flew arrows made of pure shadow mana that hit the cannon balls that can at the makeshift submarines. The three sister ships launched six cannon balls each per round and out of these six, four were shot down by the arrows of shadow evaporating. But the one that landed caused serious damage, claiming three logs in less than five waves.

The elven leader seeing no reason to risk anymore losses got out of his vessel and used shadow steps to reach the mother ship. Instant defences were activated as tens of guards came out to fece the man who looked no older than 20 and had the frailest body in terms of humans. But the man never gave the soldiers a chance to unsheath their swords as black hands grew from their shadows to hold their legs in place.

It was not a strong grip but it hindered their movement and that was enough for the elf as he walked slicing the throats of each soldier with dealt calm and trained efficiency. He could hear his fleet sinking but if he got his hands on the item in the ship it would be worth the loss. Even profiting him many times.

As he reached out to the door that led into the ship the entire door along with the wall around it burst open in an explosion and he was sent flying. A huge axe roughly the size of the elf's entire torso flew at his head and he got out with a cut to his eyebrow. His eyes burned with shadowy light as he looked at the monstrosity that threw the axe with ease.

The human was tall and burly. He held another huge axe and similar looking axe hung from

his belt. He had four compartments for them and two were empty and two filled with. Behind him was a woman with platinum hair that flew along her petite frame till her bottom. She held a shaft that was reminiscent of the magic present in the environment of Evergarden the capital city of the light elves. It had a green gem reminiscent of emerald and oxidised copper. The woman casted another quick fire ball at the elf which he dodged again.

He pulled out another dagger and escaped into the shadows to strike from behind but he felt a hand grab him by the collar and drag him out. The hand was young but strong. Not as big as the axeman but bigger than the elf. It had a single ring on it. An emblem of sorts it was clearly magically enchanted as it glowed with colourful lights.

A blue phoenix soaring above a city engulfed in the same blue flames the phoenix was made of. It was hard not to recognise the seal of someone was familiar with the golden sea or the world in general.

The emblem of the house of Felix of the Embernight kingdom. The duke Felix had a huge reputation as a warlord even earning the title of wargold after he won a battle against a million strong with only him and his two sons.

While the duke was the master of tactics and ploy the main powerhouse was his elder son Erand Felix, he defeated most of the enemies. But the fact that only few people of the upper echelons of power or position knew that while the elder son was the powerhouse the younger son was the monster.

As there are reports of Erand letting his enemies live, the younger one killed everyone he faced. And apparently Erand lost a finger on his each hand in the war but the hand held the elf had all its fingers intact.
