Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: Some are Happy, Some are Sad

"A tear, turning back midway, I can only fight, fight; a sky full of stars, after falling, I pray don't go, don't go!"

Inside the MTV room, Su Hao held the microphone, looking at the lyrics on the LCD screen, singing his heart out.

Liu Xiaoran sat on the sofa nearby, looking at Su Hao helplessly. She really regretted why she suggested coming to the MTV room; they should have gone straight to a hotel.

That way, Liu Xiaoran would already be fighting now, instead of praying for Su Hao to finish singing.

Forget it, let him be. It's rare for him to be so happy.

Liu Xiaoran leaned against the sofa, squinting at the visible joy on Su Hao's face, and the gloom in her heart gradually dissipated.

"Sorry for making you wait." When a song finished, Su Hao sat next to Liu Xiaoran and chugged some beer.

"You seem especially happy today?" Liu Xiaoran naturally lay down on Su Hao's lap, looking up at him.

"Yes, because I didn't expect to find Chinese songs here. I thought they would all be Korean or English songs." Su Hao lowered his head, stroking Liu Xiaoran's cheek, his face full of tenderness.

"Now that you've sung to your heart's content, shouldn't we get down to business? I didn't come here just to sing." Liu Xiaoran pouted, her eyes burning with surging desire.

"No problem." Su Hao's lips curved upwards. He put down the beer bottle, lowered his head, and kissed Liu Xiaoran's lips.

After a long while, their lips parted. Liu Xiaoran reached into her backpack and pulled out a pair of black handcuffs.

"You actually carry these things with you?" Su Hao looked at Liu Xiaoran in confusion.

"Because I'm a masochist, you see." Liu Xiaoran placed the handcuffs in Su Hao's hand and asked in a low voice, "Su Hao, do you know why Zhi Nv only chatted with Niu Lang for a while before deciding to be with him?"

"Why?"

"Because she had been in heaven for too long and was unbearably lonely." Liu Xiaoran leaned into Su Hao's ear: "I am Zhi Nv now."

"Then I am Niu Lang." Su Hao chuckled softly and opened the handcuffs.

...

Night fell, and stars appeared. The Niu Lang and Zhi Nv stars in the sky gazed at each other across the Milky Way.

On the ground, "Niu Lang" and "Zhi Nv" leaned on each other.

"I told you not to play too wildly!" Su Hao carried Liu Xiaoran on his back, climbing the steps one by one.

"I'm happy today!" Liu Xiaoran rubbed her waist, lazily saying, "But how are you not tired at all?"

"Because I have good stamina!" Su Hao said proudly, "Eight-pack abs aren't just for show!"

"That's right, your stamina is indeed very good." Liu Xiaoran closed her eyes: "It seems I should go to the gym when I have time. Is there a gym near the school?"

"No need for all that trouble. You can just train with me, and I guarantee your stamina will greatly increase in less than a month, and you'll be able to fight me for three hundred rounds!" Su Hao said confidently, but he didn't hear Liu Xiaoran's reply.

He turned his head and saw that Liu Xiaoran was already fast asleep.

It seemed she was indeed very tired. Su Hao's lips curved slightly. He stopped at the stairwell entrance, looking at the dazzling stars in the night sky, and suddenly felt a long-lost sense of happiness.

He hadn't expected that after coming to this world, the first person he connected with would be Liu Xiaoran.

Su Hao murmured softly, carefully carrying Liu Xiaoran back to her home.

He pushed open the door, placed Liu Xiaoran on the bed, and then took off her shoes and covered her with the quilt.

After a moment of thought, Su Hao exchanged a bottle of stamina potion from the Points Mall , walked into the kitchen to pour a cup of hot water, and placed the stamina potion and hot water by the bedside.

Su Hao played with Liu Xiaoran's small hand, enjoying the rare tranquility.

However, things did not go as he wished. Su Hao hadn't even finished counting the lines on Liu Xiaoran's palm when the phone rang abruptly.

Su Hao glanced at Liu Xiaoran, walked to the balcony, and answered the phone.

"Hello?"

"Xiao Hao, are Peilin and you together?" Aunt Meijing's anxious voice came through.

"No, what's wrong?"

"She hasn't come back after work today, and she's not answering her phone. It's already nine o'clock, and I'm worried something happened to her."

It's nine o'clock now? Su Hao looked up at the night sky. No wonder Liu Xiaoran was so tired; it had been so long since they left the cinema.

"Auntie, don't worry. Did Peilin call you before?" Su Hao asked softly.

"I talked to her at noon. She said she was going to a dinner party today, but she didn't say where, so I don't know where to find her."

"I understand. I'm going to look for Peilin now. I'll call you when I find her!"

"Okay, thank you, Xiao Hao."

"It's nothing, Auntie. Please wait patiently. Peilin will be fine." Su Hao finished speaking and hung up the phone.

Finding a piece of paper on Liu Xiaoran's table, Su Hao wrote furiously:

Xiao Ran Jie, I have something to do and have to leave. Don't forget to drink water after you wake up. The medicine next to the cup is something I brought from Zhonghua (China); it can relieve fatigue. Keep it well and drink a little every day; it's very good for your health.

He used the cup to hold down the note, gently kissed Liu Xiaoran's forehead, and turned to leave.

The moment he pushed open the door, Su Hao opened the Points Mall and exchanged for an item.

A faint blue light appeared around Su Hao. They quickly condensed into a dazzling magic circle.

The next second, Su Hao closed the door and vanished from the spot.

...

"This teleportation array is really useful, but it's too expensive. It costs thirty points to use once."

When Su Hao opened his eyes again, what he saw was a pitch-black alley.

Walking out of the alley, a bustling street came into view. Inside a restaurant next to the street, Su Hao saw Peilin's familiar face.

"Peilin, come! Have another drink! Among all these part-time students, I like you the most!" A middle-aged man sat next to Peilin, laughing as he poured her wine.

"Okay, drink! Manager, you drink too!" Peilin, tipsy, raised her glass and drank it all in one gulp.

"Cheers! I like people like you! You're cute, and you drink so readily! If other employees were half as cute as you, our company would have been a famous beauty company long ago!"

The manager finished speaking and disdainfully glanced at the two female employees opposite him.

"Peilin, come, I'll pour you another. And while we're at it, let's talk about work issues." Seeing Peilin finish her drink again, a hint of joy flashed in the manager's eyes, and he reached out to grab Peilin's wrist.

But as soon as he extended his hand, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his shoulder.

"Want to talk about work issues with me?" Su Hao gripped the manager's shoulder tightly, a sinister smile on his lips.

"You... who are you?" The manager looked at Su Hao's seemingly man-eating gaze and asked timidly.

"Peilin's brother." Su Hao said, casually pulling the manager aside and sitting next to Peilin himself.

"You... how do you prove you're Peilin's brother?" The manager stumbled and fell to the ground, looking at Su Hao with furious embarrassment.

"Say one more word, and I'll smash this on your head." Su Hao picked up a wine bottle, looking at the manager with a fake smile.

"I..." The manager was about to speak when he saw Su Hao raise the wine bottle. He quickly covered his mouth.
