People always say that life is unpredictable. Su Hao thought he was going for a stroll on campus, but after visiting the club, he realized he was gravely mistaken.
To prepare for the upcoming stage play, the entire club was in full swing, with many unfamiliar senior students bustling about.
Naturally, Su Hao couldn't just stand idle after arriving. First, he was pulled into script rehearsals, where he also guided Li Shuxin and the others in their acting. Then, he went to help members of other groups with props, lighting, publicity, and stage setup.
It was Su Hao's first time realizing that putting on a stage play required so much manpower.
By the time they finally finished, the sun was already setting.
On the empty campus, with the orange sunset, Su Hao strolled along, but before he could clear his mind, he saw a familiar figure.
Lin Jiayu? Su Hao turned around, watching with interest as Lin Jiayu stood in front of a bulletin board, tiptoeing and struggling to stick a poster up high.
Perhaps because the spot was too high, her whole body trembled slightly as she raised her hand.
After much effort, she finally managed to put the poster up, but it wrinkled because it wasn't placed properly.
"Damn it! Why did it wrinkle?!" Lin Jiayu muttered in agony.
Before she could finish expressing her complaints, a gust of wind blew, and a stack of posters in her hand fluttered away, scattering all over the ground.
"Ah ah ah ah!" Lin Jiayu covered her head, frustrated, and howled at the sky.
After howling, she sighed helplessly, "I should have brought a bag."
"Unfortunately, there's no such thing as a regret pill in this world," a mischievous voice came from behind her.
Lin Jiayu turned around in surprise, seeing Su Hao smiling as he handed her a bottle of drink.
"Here's a bottle of honey water. Drink it and feel sweet," Su Hao shook the drink, signaling Lin Jiayu to take it.
"Sweet honey water?" Lin Jiayu took the drink with a bewildered expression, "How come I've never heard of this brand?"
"I haven't either," Su Hao shrugged, then crouched down to tidy the posters on the ground, "Are you sticking all these posters by yourself? Lin Yingchun is really exploiting you, isn't she? How long will this take?"
"Not just these," Lin Jiayu knelt on the ground, feeling wronged, and said in despair, "Besides these, there are five more huge stacks to put up."
"Five huge stacks? More like five huge mountains, right?" Su Hao handed the tidied posters to Lin Jiayu, "It feels like you're the Monkey King, and these five stacks of posters are the Five Finger Mountain, pressing you down so hard you can't move."
"That joke isn't funny at all," Lin Jiayu took the posters, her head drooping weakly, "But I really do feel like a monkey right now. Too bad I don't have his abilities. Otherwise, with one breath, I could conjure dozens of Lin Jiayu to help me put up posters."
"Tsk tsk, I didn't think someone as clumsy as you would have watched Journey to the West," Su Hao looked at Lin Jiayu in surprise, chuckling, "Wukong, does your master need to help you break the seal of the Five Finger Mountain?"
"What did you say?" Lin Jiayu looked up in confusion, not understanding Su Hao's meaning.
"I mean, how about I help you stick them? Two people will surely be faster."
"Really... really?" Lin Jiayu excitedly grabbed Su Hao's hand, "Su Hao, you're too kind!"
"I'm always happy to help others, especially a beauty like you," Su Hao smiled and stood up, "Let's go, we'll start by putting posters on the bulletin board over there."
"Ah... okay." Lin Jiayu stood up in a daze, following behind Su Hao.
Looking at his back, Lin Jiayu's face couldn't help but flush.
For some reason, when Su Hao offered to help with the posters just now, Lin Jiayu actually felt a flutter in her heart. And he called me a beauty, a beauty!
He had been with the president and Xiao Ran Jie before, so his taste must be quite high. If he called me a beauty, does it mean that in his eyes, I'm as pretty as the president and Xiao Ran Jie?
Lin Jiayu covered her face, feeling her heart thump-thump.
"What are you thumping for?! Why am I falling for him? Who does he think he is?!" Lin Jiayu patted her full chest, forcing herself to calm down and not mistake momentary gratitude for true feelings!
But when she looked down and saw the honey water Su Hao had given her earlier, Lin Jiayu grinned foolishly again.
"Lin Jiayu, did you bring tape?" Su Hao's voice made Lin Jiayu snap back to reality.
"Yes... yes, I did!" Lin Jiayu quickly pulled out tape from her pocket, and also handed Su Hao a utility knife.
"You keep this knife in your pocket?" Su Hao stared at Lin Jiayu's shorts with a strange expression, "Aren't you afraid of stabbing your butt?"
"How could I be that stupid? Don't change the subject, hurry up and stick the posters!" Feeling Su Hao's gaze, Lin Jiayu glared at him, her face red.
"I was just showing concern, wasn't I? This knife is so sharp, what if it really stabs your butt..." Su Hao mumbled as he pressed a poster onto the bulletin board, "Is this position okay?"
"Yes," Lin Jiayu looked at the eight-pack abs on the poster, feeling her heart start to race again.
Eight-pack abs! I wonder what it would feel like to touch them? She cautiously glanced at Su Hao's abdomen, her mind a chaotic mess.
"Lin Jiayu, there are still many spots on this bulletin board. How about we put up a few more here?" Su Hao finished sticking a poster, then stroked his chin, staring at the bulletin board.
After a long while, receiving no response from Lin Jiayu, Su Hao turned his head in confusion, seeing her cupping her face and giggling foolishly, obviously thinking something wicked.
Shaking his head helplessly, Su Hao took matters into his own hands, sticking five posters on the bulletin board in one go, forming a pentagon with the posters.
"Wow, why did you put up so many posters?" Lin Jiayu came back to her senses and widened her eyes at the somewhat spectacular sight.
"This way, it'll attract more attention. How about it, want to take a picture with my posters? This is the most perfect pentagon I've ever made, it's practically art!" Su Hao asked, his face full of pride.
"Sure!" Lin Jiayu's eyes lit up at the mention of photos. She stood smiling in front of the posters, cupping her face and making a peace sign.
With a click, the photo was taken. Lin Jiayu leaned close to Su Hao, staring at his phone screen.
"That's a good shot. Remember to send it to me later."
"But I don't have you as a friend yet."
"Just add me, then? Wait a moment." Lin Jiayu said, pulling out her phone.
But before she could add Su Hao as a friend, a passing girl ran over.
"Excuse me, is this for the upcoming stage play?" The girl pointed at the bulletin board, shyly asking Su Hao.
"Yes, it has the performance time and location. Senior, if you're free then, you're welcome to come and watch," Su Hao said softly, with a gentle smile on his face.
"I'll definitely go see it!" The girl nodded vigorously, then hesitated and asked, "Junior, do you have a girlfriend?"
