Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Unable to Fit Into Their Circle

A few employees wearing professional suits from a certain bank met for lunch to look for food.

As they passed by the entrance of Huang Tao's store, they looked at the sign and were all surprised.

"Huh? I've never seen this shop before! It must be new, right?"

"It should be!"

They peeked inside the entrance of the shop...

Wow!

It's packed!

"Wow! Is the business at this shop really that good?"

"What exactly is this shop selling?"

With a herd mentality, the bank employees felt a bit tempted, walked up, and looked at the menu displayed at the entrance.

"So this shop sells pan-fried buns and preserved egg and lean meat congee!"

Wearing high heels and with delicate makeup, Su Lulu looked disdainful, "Ugh...pan-fried buns are too greasy and make you gain weight. Plus, I hate preserved eggs the most. How about we go to that sushi shop ahead and get a deluxe sushi package instead?"

Du Xinyan hesitated for a moment: "This..."

Upon seeing her best colleague hesitate, she frowned slightly and said, "What's there to hesitate about! Let's go, it's my treat this time..."

Being treated to a meal, especially deluxe sushi that they usually don't get to eat.

Of course… it would be a waste not to eat!

The colleagues felt tempted: "Then… we won't hold back, let's go for the sushi..."

Just as Su Lulu and Du Xinyan were about to leave, they heard the customers sitting by the entrance say, "Why eat sushi! Aren't the pan-fried buns and preserved egg congee fragrant enough?"

"Boss Huang's pan-fried buns and preserved egg congee are very delicious. If you don't eat, it's your loss. I'm telling you, you'll miss a huge opportunity if you don't try them."

"Yeah, yeah, if you don't eat, you'll regret it for the rest of your life."

These customers, already completely won over by Huang Tao's pan-fried buns and preserved egg and lean meat congee, couldn't help but passionately recommend them to newcomers who didn't know what they were missing.

They listened, but didn't respond, only showing standard professional smiles and a slightly awkward laugh.

"Let's go..."

Su Lulu impatiently tugged at the sleeve of her colleague beside her, then directly left.

Seeing this, the other colleagues quickly followed.

Oh!

For those who haven't tasted it, no matter how much they talk, it's useless.

For those who have eaten it, even if warned to leave, they wouldn't go.

The customers sitting by the entrance watched Su Lulu and her bright companions leaving, shaking their heads speechlessly: "Such people who don't know what's good!"

Of course, this small episode, busy as a bee, Huang Tao was completely unaware of.

Just after Su Lulu and the others left, Chen Weihao and a group of vendors from the market came running towards Huang Tao's shop.

Before they even arrived, they could be heard.

"So Delicious, it's this one, just this one..."

"Wow, why are there so many people?"

Seeing the number of diners, the market vendors were astonished.

They expected Huang Tao's business to be good but didn't expect it to be this good.

What to do now?

To wait or not to wait?

The answer was obviously... to wait!

Buying a pan-fried bun wouldn't take much time anyway.

In no time, Huang Tao's small shop was bursting at the seams.

Not to mention finding a place to sit, there wasn't even a spot to stand.

The line extended outside the shop's door.

On the whole street, quite a few shops also had people waiting to eat outside.

But the one with the longest lines was definitely Huang Tao's shop.

Many nearby shop owners were drawn by the long lines at Huang Tao's shop, each looking on with envy.

Wow!

A new shop just opened today, and it's already so popular?

Unbelievable!

And the continuous sound of "WeChat payment received" echoed from Huang Tao's shop, drifting out with the wind.

This inevitably drew the attention of office workers and passersby in search of food.

Attracting numerous curious glances from them.

Hard not to be curious!

Who would have thought a newly opened shop could be so bustling!

After all, such phenomena are rarely seen!

Moreover, most of those waiting in line were familiar faces from nearby and vendors from the market.

Clearly, they weren't paid actors.

So many office workers looking for food approached curiously to inquire.

"Excuse me, how does the pan-fried bun taste from this shop? Is it good?"

"It's definitely good! If it wasn't, why would I leave my stand unattended at noon just to line up here!"

This logic was irrefutable.

"Alright, thank you!"

Many office workers, after thinking it over, decided to obediently queue up as well.

Luckily, Huang Tao's speed was quick, and many of the later office workers in line soon got the pan-fried buns they ordered.

After taking a bite of the pan-fried bun, they were all amazed!

While they were intrigued, they also understood why this newly opened shop named "So Delicious" was so popular.

With universally positive reviews and nearly one hundred percent returning customers, the kind of publicity they brought was incredibly powerful.

"What do I do? What do I do? My stomach is full, but my eyes say I can still eat more."

"Burp… I'll sit here a bit longer to let it settle."

The satisfied customers, burping contentedly, left while rubbing their bellies and holding onto the wall for support.

Every time this scene occurred.

The new customers in line would question internally.

How good is the food from this place?!

With the same questions, Lin Jiahui also joined the queue.

She is an employee at a nearby bank, from the same bank as Su Lulu and the others.

The reason she didn't join them in looking for food.

One reason is she's an outsider, a new employee, and hasn't integrated into their circle.

Another reason is that she missed the time to get off work because she was organizing materials, and by the time she realized she had worked late, all her colleagues had left.

Plus, she forgot to order takeout.

So she simply went to West City Old Street nearby to get something to eat back home.

As she walked, she was puzzled.

She had basically tried all the foods on West City Old Street, and there wasn't a single place she particularly liked.

Oh! What should I eat?

Seeing the long queue outside Huang Tao's shop, and witnessing nearly nine out of ten satisfied customers leaving with burps while holding onto walls.

It was clear the taste should be quite good.

Plus, this is a new shop. She hadn't tried it, and she had heard from those in the line that the pan-fried buns here are amazing.

She decided to stand in line to try something new.

After queuing for quite a while, it was her turn.

"Give me four pan-fried buns, I want..."

She was about to decide what flavor of pan-fried bun to order when she caught a glimpse of the preserved egg and lean meat congee in the electric warm pot, which made her heart skip a beat.

Seeing her fixating on the preserved egg and lean meat congee without speaking, Huang Tao, somewhat surprised, asked, "This preserved egg and lean meat congee is a new item launched at noon, would you like to try a bowl?"

She nodded and nervously said, "Alright."

"Will you be dining here or taking it to go?"

"Oh… to go then!"

"What flavor pan-fried buns would you like?"

She blankly replied, "Pork and mushroom filling."

Huang Tao swiftly packaged up her order.

She numbly took it and turned to leave.

Gently, Huang Tao called to her back, "Miss, you forgot to pay..."

"Hey, the owner's calling you, you forgot to pay." The customer behind her gently tapped her arm to kindly remind her.

Lin Jiahui snapped back to reality, turned to Huang Tao apologetically, "Sorry, I zoned out. How much in total?"

"No problem."

Having noticed her preoccupied demeanor from the start, Huang Tao smiled understandingly and replied, "It's 20 yuan total."

"Alright."

She took out her phone, tapped it, and scanned to pay.

"Alipay received, 20 yuan."

"Owner, I've paid."

"Okay, take care, you're welcome to come again."
