Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Plunder Points

Seventh floor.

The rusted iron sign vaguely shows such words.

This floor's structure is similar to the one above, a circular corridor layout.

Su Changxing held his knife and slowly walked down the stairs to this floor, entering the corridor, seeing several long and dried blood streaks on the ground, with a faint stench of decay in the air.

"Chomp chomp~"

It sounded like someone was gnawing on something.

Could it be that his compatriots, placed in the same place as him, were already taken down?

Su Changxing moved towards the sound, walked to the corner, peeked around, his pupils shrank.

Two zombies were squatting on the ground with their backs to Su Changxing, devouring a completely broken, mangled corpse, with small pieces of organs scattered on the ground, and several hand-printed bloodstains on the wall.

When Su Changxing saw them, these two zombies also seemed to sense something and turned to look at Su Changxing.

Four eyes met, the zombie's eyes were bloodshot, dark red.

The distance between them was very short, only four or five meters.

Su Changxing suddenly raised his steel saber, took three steps forward, and slashed at the forehead of the one on the left; the two zombies were just getting up and hadn't made any move yet.

Smack.

The zombie on the left was knocked down by Su Changxing, but the force and angle deviated from what Su Changxing had calculated, grazing its cheek and cutting a half-centimeter deep wound on its shoulder.

The zombie on the right came at Su Changxing with claws bared and fangs glistening.

Su Changxing, in an exhausted state, withdrew his sword, stepped back twice; his speed slightly surpassed that of daytime zombies, barely dodging the zombie's pounce.

He raised his knife again and slashed at the zombie close at hand, creating a crack in its skull, the powerful force knocking it down, but still failing to kill it with one blow.

His body's movements deviated from his expectations.

Su Changxing frowned, raised his knife, and delivered another blow, ending its life; at the same time, the other zombie wobbled up, its swinging arms in a semi-broken state.

With only one zombie left, Su Changxing felt much less pressured; he retreated two small steps, gathered strength, adjusted his angle, and when the zombie lunged at him, swung his knife horizontally, striking its temple.

The steel saber split the zombie's skull.

Black blood splattered across Su Changxing's face, full of stench.

[Killed a zombie, gained 10 Points]

"This angle seems to be easier to split open the head."

"My power is indeed very strong, but the movement errors are also very large; it will take a lot of practice to achieve absolute precision."

Su Changxing glanced at his reddened hand, understanding that although he could kill a zombie with a single blow, he couldn't guarantee 100% success every time.

Two consecutive mistakes just now.

Fortunately, they were small errors, within the tolerable range.

"What's this?"

Su Changxing looked towards the corpse and saw a phone identical to his in the pool of blood, except the screen was black.

"Can't see the contents on other people's phones? Also, the phone doesn't show battery levels or have a power button, definitely some black technology; I wonder what the energy source is."

Su Changxing picked up the phone from the ground and examined it, falling into deep thought, then noticed a message on his own phone.

[Would you like to extract the eliminated person's Points?]

Yes.

Su Changxing watched the phone he picked up from the ground dissolve into black shadows in the air.

[Gained 10 Points]

[Total Points: 178]

"Gone?"

Su Changxing was stunned.

It turns out you can directly plunder others' Points, which pushes everyone into natural opposition.

Su Changxing speculated that this Doomsday Game inherently encourages human beings to slaughter each other.

For most people, gaining 1000 Points within thirty days is incredibly difficult.

Don't be fooled by how easily he kills a zombie now; it's also based on Su Changxing's strong power and the premise of having an excellent weapon.

Although zombies lack intelligence, once scratched by a zombie, you might get infected, and sometimes it's easier and safer to snatch Points from others.

Su Changxing still couldn't confirm if these zombies had the ability to infect, but he assumed they did in his heart, since that's how it plays out in the movies, and it fits the logic of a massive zombie outbreak.

Just as he was about to rest in the nearby room, Su Changxing heard footsteps in the corridor; one far, one near.

The closer footsteps were heavy, heavier than before, indicating the owner should have a large physique.

Su Changxing decisively lifted his steel saber and walked towards the corridor, just in time to see a zombie over two meters tall with a muscular build charging forward, bare-chested.

The corridor trembled with the zombie's running, the sight was extremely intimidating.

Zombies originated from humans, so the stronger the original human body, the stronger the zombie.

Su Changxing remained calm, staring straight at the approaching zombie; if he could split the previous zombie's head, he could split this one's head too.

Muscles won't harden bones; even Tyson couldn't withstand a shot to the forehead.

Unless this zombie had some problem with bone overgrowth.

Hmm, probably impossible.

The steel saber drew a fluid arc in the corridor, directly smashing into the zombie's forehead, as imagined, the head split open, blood splattering everywhere.

The giant-sized zombie crashed heavily to the ground, while another zombie appeared at the corridor corner.

After multiple swings at full force, Su Changxing felt his hands weak and numb, without hesitation, he quickly took refuge in the adjacent room, closing the door behind him.

"Fortunately, these zombies have no brains and just keep coming one by one."

Su Changxing sat down on a dust-covered, cracked table, watching the door being violently pounded by a zombie.

"This door probably won't hold much longer; the zombies' power is greater than imagined, and they're fearless of injury. However, do they have limited stamina?"

Suddenly, such a question arose in Su Changxing's mind: if zombies are considered living creatures, their survival and actions should consume energy.

So in this sense, if the human population drastically decreases, zombies would drastically decrease within a certain time as well.

They need to eat but lack brains, driven only by primal killing desires, unable to produce food.

But clearly, there are still a large number of zombies in the city, especially crowds of them roaming the streets.

After five or six minutes, the banging outside continued fiercely, with no significant change in frequency.

The zombie outside seemed like a machine with unlimited stamina.

Having somewhat recovered, Su Changxing took a deep breath, dragging his blood-covered steel saber towards the door, opening it while delivering a powerful slash.

"Ahhh~"

The zombie let out a painful wail, collapsing heavily to the ground with the force transmitted through the steel saber. Su Changxing withdrew the saber from the crack in the zombie's skull, pulling out several sticky strands of blood.

Su Changxing took out a tattered cloth he had scavenged from his pocket and wiped the blood from the steel saber; he disliked his weapon being covered in such foul-smelling blood.

He was a person who liked to keep things clean.
