In the sky, a figure was rapidly approaching.
With his sharp eyesight, Yami easily made out the face of his new opponent.
"Oh? It's her? This just got a bit more interesting."
Even before seeing her clearly, Yami had a suspicion about who it might be. After all, there weren't many heroes with such a distinctive appearance.
In fact, in the entire Heroes Association, the only one who fit this description was Tatsumaki.
The Association had actually sent 'her' for backup? That was a surprise to Yami, who had expected a different S-Class hero.
While Tatsumaki was undeniably powerful, her major flaw was her recklessness.
Whenever she made a move, it wasn't just the enemy that suffered—the surroundings usually took massive damage too.
The battle hadn't caused much destruction to Q City yet, but with Tatsumaki involved, it might not stay that way for long.
Regardless, Tatsumaki's appearance was unexpected but also stirred a faint sense of excitement in Yami.
Watchdog Man's strength had been disappointing, but perhaps this second-ranked S-Class hero could provide him with a real challenge.
Plus, this was his first time fighting someone with superpowers.
A gust of wind whipped through the air, messing up Yami's hair.
Hovering above him, Tatsumaki crossed her arms over her chest, her expression dripping with disdain as she surveyed the scene below.
The sight of Watchdog Man in such a sorry state didn't escape her notice.
"Hmph. So, you're the one who attacked Q City? You don't look like much."
"That big dog lost to you? How pathetic. An S-Class hero like that? What a disgrace."
"I'll kill you myself and restore the honor of the S-Class heroes!"
From the very first words out of her mouth, Tatsumaki's tone was sharp and cutting.
Yami couldn't help but feel a little surprised—her fierce words came from such a baby-faced figure. The contrast was jarring.
Of course, that wasn't the most shocking thing for Yami.
From his position on the ground, he had to tilt his head upward to see Tatsumaki.
And there was a problem with that.
Tatsumaki was known for her rather bold fashion choices, often wearing a dress with a high slit that nearly reached her thighs. As the wind howled around her, the skirt started to flutter.
This led Yami to see something he probably wasn't meant to see.
It had to be said—her title as the "White Tiger," one of the Four Legendary Beasts, was well-deserved.
Not bad at all!
Yami, for the first time in this new life, had solved the mystery that had bugged him in the past. Tatsumaki really was quite the uninhibited "little lady."
"If you want to fight, let's get on with it."
"But first, let me give you a tip. If you're going to wear a fitting V-neck black dress with a high collar, long trumpet sleeves, and four high-cut leg slits, maybe avoid flying too high. You wouldn't want to accidentally... flash someone."
Yami's words carried a hint of teasing as he spoke them in a low, amused tone.
"Huh?"
At first, Tatsumaki didn't catch on.
But when she noticed where Yami's gaze was, realization hit her like a ton of bricks.
In the blink of an eye, her face—previously filled with arrogance—turned bright red. She quickly floated down to the ground, eyes blazing with a mix of shame and rage.
But soon, that embarrassment morphed into a murderous intent.
In that moment, Tatsumaki looked like she wanted to tear Yami apart.
"Hey, don't look at me like that. It's not like I wanted to see anything. You're the one hovering above me, running your mouth. Not my fault."
"And, honestly, there's not much to look at. You're, uh... pretty flat."
"For someone like me, your body's not exactly worth staring at."
Yami shrugged nonchalantly, speaking his mind with brutal honesty.
That remark, however, was the final straw. Tatsumaki's rage ignited like a powder keg.
The combination of her embarrassment at being exposed and Yami's insult was too much. Her anger flared to terrifying levels.
A dark aura began to materialize behind her, growing more intense by the second.
At that moment, Tatsumaki's power surged to a new height.
Her psychic energy exploded outward uncontrollably, enveloping her entire body in a green glow.
The buildings around them weren't spared either.
Dozens of structures were ripped from the ground, hovering behind Tatsumaki as she glared at Yami.
"...Go to hell, you perverted bastard!!!"
Tatsumaki's voice was low, but the fury behind it was palpable. She unleashed her power, and countless pieces of debris, propelled by her psychic force, shot toward Yami like a storm of missiles.
In the distance, the crowd of onlookers who had been watching the battle suddenly realized their danger. Most of them had no time to flee.
"Hey, are you serious?"
"I get that you're angry, but maybe try to keep your cool. Or is this what happens when you get superpowers?"
Despite his complaints, Yami showed no signs of fear.
Golden light began to gather in his right hand.
The Sword of Promised Victory appeared once more.
With a few swift swings, Yami launched golden slashes that intercepted the incoming debris.
The massive chunks of buildings were instantly swallowed by his attacks. The sword's energy shattered the telekinetic force binding them, reducing them to dust and rubble.
Boom!
Another massive explosion rang out in the sky.
The shockwave spread out across the battlefield. Though Yami and the three goddesses with him were unscathed, the same couldn't be said for the remaining bystanders. They were sent flying by the blast.
Smoke and dust filled the air, completely obscuring the square. No one could see what was happening within.
But at this point, the onlookers had lost the will to watch.
The sheer scale of the battle was terrifying—too dangerous for mere spectators to enjoy.
The entire city of Q began to fall into chaos.
