Chapter 122 - Chapter 277: Tatsumaki's Have Always Been Good at Wreaking Havoc!

"Hey, hey! Isn't this attack a bit too much?"

"Does having the backing of the Hero Association mean you don't have to worry about paying for all the city repairs?"

Amidst the swirling dust, Yami coughed twice.

At this point, he had lost track of how much dust he'd inhaled. His earlier fight with Watchdog Man was chaotic, but this... this was on another level.

Tatsumaki was certainly skilled at tearing things apart.

"Ha! So, you've got a few tricks up your sleeve, huh, pervert? Then try this!"

Seeing that Yami was unharmed and had easily countered her attack, Tatsumaki's once disdainful expression began to fade, replaced by something more serious.

For the first time, she felt a real pressure.

Especially after witnessing Yami's sword strikes earlier—her telekinetic powers had been shattered by them with ease. Even Atomic Samurai, one of the top heroes, couldn't wield sword energy like that.

Realizing this, Tatsumaki decided it was time to stop playing around.

"What an ill-tempered little girl," Yami muttered. "Let's see what you're really capable of!"

He only had a vague sense of Tatsumaki's true strength. Was she as powerful as her ranking suggested?

There was only one way to find out.

"Die!"

Tatsumaki raised her right hand, and once again, her psychic power erupted from her body like an invisible force.

Superpowers like hers couldn't be detected with the naked eye. This was the terrifying power of a true esper, and the strength of the second-ranked S-Class hero, Tornado of Terror.

But even though the power couldn't be seen, Yami could feel the danger closing in.

His instinctive awareness was already screaming in alarm.

Not only that, but his future-sight had kicked in too.

"If you think you can catch me that easily, you're in for a surprise," Yami said, his voice calm.

In the blink of an eye, he vanished.

Tatsumaki's attack missed its mark, and her face filled with surprise yet again.

But she didn't remain in shock for long. Expanding her psychic energy in every direction, she quickly brought the entire city of Q under her control.

With her telekinesis now spread over such a vast area, no one could hide from her.

"Got you!"

Tatsumaki shouted triumphantly as Yami, speeding through the air, was suddenly immobilized, frozen mid-motion.

It was as though invisible hands had wrapped around him.

Especially around his throat, where the pressure was tightening. It felt like she was trying to choke him out, to cut off his air supply and incapacitate him.

Or worse—kill him.

"What an incredible power," Yami muttered, impressed. "Is this some sort of spiritual energy?"

"The body of an ordinary human can hold such an immense psychic force without breaking... Unbelievable!"

From the sidelines, the goddesses Hephaestus, Hestia, and Artemis watched the battle closely, quickly understanding the essence of Tatsumaki's powers.

They were amazed.

Tatsumaki's body wasn't particularly strong—probably only a bit tougher than a normal human—but her psychic energy was astonishing.

It was hard to believe that someone without divine lineage could possess such strength.

She was a natural-born mage.

"Hephaestus, are you sure Yami will be alright? That little girl's attacks are strange. It looks dangerous," Artemis asked, concern etched on her face as she watched the battle unfold.

Despite her worries, she didn't seem inclined to step in.

"Don't worry," Hephaestus replied with a confident smile. "Yami won't fall in a place like this."

Among the goddesses, Hephaestus was the one who knew Yami's true strength better than anyone else.

He might not be as strong as the gods yet, but he was close.

If anyone could break through the boundary between mortals and gods and ascend to divinity, it would be Yami. No one else had such potential.

"That's true," Artemis agreed, her faith in him unwavering. "He's too strong to lose here."

Yami, still caught in Tatsumaki's psychic grip, let out a soft chuckle despite the pressure on his throat. His expression turned deadly serious.

He stopped holding back.

Under the bright sunlight, the magic within Yami surged, and his body became enveloped in radiant light.

In an instant, the psychic force around him shattered.

"What?!" Tatsumaki gasped. "You broke free?"

"And this heat... it feels like I'm staring into the sun!"

"What kind of monster 'are' you?!"

For the second time, Tatsumaki found herself overwhelmed. Her fierce expression faltered as she stared at Yami, who was now glowing with a brilliance that rivaled the sun.

Was this man really human?

Why did he feel like a god?

"Me?" Yami grinned. "I'm just a normal human."

"Now, this fight is about to get loud. We should probably move somewhere else."

With that, Yami raised his left hand slightly.

The ground beneath them began to crack and split, the fissures rapidly expanding until they encircled both him and Tatsumaki. Hephaestus and the other goddesses were caught within the perimeter as well, though it didn't seem to bother them.

The scene resembled the end of the world, causing Tatsumaki to become even more alert.

However, when she blinked, the cracks and destruction had disappeared.

In its place was a strange, shifting landscape—rippling and distorted, as though they had been transported to another dimension.

"What is this place? What's this weird barrier of energy?" Tatsumaki demanded, her voice laced with suspicion.

"Relax," Yami replied with a calm smile. "This is my ability—something I call a mirror space. You can think of it as an inherent enchantment."

"I just didn't want to cause too much chaos in Q City and end up on the Hero Association's wanted list. I just want to test my strength against an S-Class hero, not become a criminal."

"If you can break this barrier, you'll return to Q City."

Yami's tone was light, but his confidence was undeniable.

This mirror space was an advanced technique—a fusion of space magic and what he had learned from Medea. Though still in its early stages, it was effective enough for the battle at hand.
