Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Enraptured

Melody Thorne used every last bit of her reason, biting into her arm at the final moment. Accompanied by a woman's scream, that woman viciously scratched a few bloody marks on Melody Thorne's face, her long nails digging deeply into that once perfect face, ruining half of it.

"Take good care of her," the woman said, getting up and giving her a hard kick before striding away.

The men who surrounded her had long had thoughts about her. Now that Ivy had left, they ran towards Melody Thorne with no hesitation. Although half her face was ruined, her body was still enough to enchant them.

"Get away!" Melody Thorne, full of hatred and anger, got up from the ship's deck and ran madly towards the railing. In the midst of the crowd's cries of alarm, she jumped down.

The icy sea water continuously seeped into her body, flooding her mouth and nose, as her breath was slowly deprived.

Endless darkness enveloped her entirely,

"Cough—" Melody Thorne's head suddenly broke the water's surface, fresh air rushing into her mouth and nose, allowing her to take a breath,

Why couldn't she die all at once? It was too painful.

Melody Thorne reached out, grabbing onto something, unsure if it was hair or strands of yarn!

"Melody Thorne, take your filthy hands off!" A low, icy male voice sounded above her.

The voice was the most familiar to her, and just upon hearing it, a chill seemed to pierce deeply, freezing her entire being.

Melody Thorne's body shuddered violently, not having time to think further, pain erupted from below her,

The pain nearly made her pass out, but it also snapped her back to consciousness completely.

Her body moved up and down in the water, not by her will, but because of the man!!!

"Shua—" Her eyes flew open, the water occasionally covering her small mouth, the pain replaced by a tingling sensation throughout her body.

Even though in her past life she had never shared a bed with anyone, and didn't know what was going on with her now, she understood what the sensations meant.

"Does it feel good?" The man's lips moved as he spoke, staring at her intoxicated face, curling them in a mocking sneer.

This voice completely pulled Melody Thorne's mind back, her eyes widened, and in her gaze was a face as sharp and refined as a sculpture, each line seemed painstakingly chiseled, yet held a destructive cruelty.

His dark eyes were like knives, deadly upon contact.

Including his actions, each movement seemed to tear her apart!

Jared Quinn?

Melody Thorne looked at the man in front of her in shock. Wasn't she supposed to be dead? How could she be with this man, doing... this here?

Her shocked, startled expression did not escape Jared Quinn's notice, which only deepened the disgust in his eyes.

His thin lips moved, and a cold voice spread, "Melody Thorne, don't think that drugging me and letting me sleep with you will change my view of you!"

Melody Thorne blinked, glanced around, finally seeing the scene clearly and confirming their location.

They were in the bathhouse in the rear yard of the Quinn Family estate.

When she looked back at Jared Quinn's face, she completely saw the expression on his face.

It was the same icy coldness as in the past life.

Especially in his eyes!
