Jared Quinn didn't really eat the food she brought; from time to time, he would look up at the girl on the sofa. His gaze would wander from her fair little feet up over her graceful curves and slender long legs, to the way she lay holding a pillow.
Inexplicably, a surge of heat arose in his body. He could almost determine now that Melody Thorne was the same as other women, yet somehow she broke through his taboo. His body would almost immediately react when he came into contact with her.
But, upon recalling the information reported by the men in black secretly following Melody Thorne, his gaze turned a few shades colder. When he looked at Melody again, he found the girl lying motionless on the sofa.
He got up and strode over.
"Melody Thorne"
The girl on the sofa remained completely still.

Melody Thorne's forehead was covered in beads of sweat, and she was asleep with her eyes closed.
